The chef/owner, Steven Botta, grew up in Brooklyn and learned many of recipes used at Brando's from his mother. Raised in this welcoming tradition, he believes when you enter Brando's, whether its your first time or your one hundredth time, you should always feel like they are dining with family.
Soulful Italian is the best way to describe our menu. Our culinary team has been trained at the finest culinary schools, and has over fifty years of combined experience. From our fresh pasta, to our line-caught fish, to our thirty-five day dry-aged steaks, the difference is discernible
We tried Brando’s based on a recommendation. Needless to say...it was awesome!! Friendly staff, impressive menu!! Parpadelle bolognese was incredible!! Chicken Parmigiana.. one of the BEST! Can’t wait to come back!
Disappointed! I ordered thee chicken franchise and my dinner was so salty that I couldn't eat it.
very impressed with the service & food. It was my son in law & daughter'sanniversary and they made it very special. Our table was sprinkled with Rose Pedals and they gave a special dessert.
Great food and service. One of our favorite places to go.
It was perfect they had a private little table waiting for us with birthday confetti
Pasta al forno is delicious but it’s made with cream so it’s very rich so we could not eat it all
We also had the calamari and clams casino which were very good
Our server Abraham was wonderful and very attentive
Treat yourself to Brando’s
Great food and service. A little elegance in Asbury Park.
Great service, food, and atmosphere!
Great restaurant. Nice menu. No waiting with a reservation on a busy Saturday evening. The menu had so many great sounding items that I finally settled on the Beggars Purses. Delicious and bursting with flavor and maybe a bit rich. Split them with someone so they are not so overwhelming. My partner had the Veal something with fresh greens covering soft and tender breaded veal. Really good. I ordered the fusilli in a cream sauce with Pacific shrimp (forgot formal name). OMG; it was served in a huge piece of aluminum foil. The person who delivered my dinner just open the foil up part way and I was supposed to eat it out of this big piece of foil. I should have sent it back. First the fussilli was not twisted or even curved; it was straight (???) pasta with a heavy cream sauce so rich and deep I didn't finish. When our waiter did come to the table he touched my arm or shoulder every time. Every time. We joined friends who were dining outside for coffee. It was obvious their was not happy we joined. We didn't even ask him for anything. I felt relief after we left. I was so self conscious. I will try this place again sometime because it was good, I just made poor choices. I must also say that they so sweetly had our table decorated for our anniversary. Thank you for that Brando. I'll be sure to order food served on china next time. Can you imagine a" Fusilli Jerry" made by Dr. Van Nostrum from straight fusilli???
We enjoy Brandos and have many nicely prepared meals there. However, Saturday lacked its usual high level of food, flavor and service we are accustomed to when we dine there. I will say the hostess was very kind and seemed interested in our dissatisfaction but offered compensation.
I got the seafood special that was a pasta with crab and a lobster tail, I think. It was two Half lobster tails with some white asparagus and herbs in a butter sauce. At best it was an OK cup maybe cup and a half of pasta that was 45.00, which in my opinion was very over priced for both the portion, presentation and flavor. I felt like I could have made it at home. For that price I expect an incredible meal not a broth pasta with two half tails on top.
I do not support the “market price” argument as I do not think the tails were fresh or large enough to factor into the price. 29.00 would have been fare but overpriced for the “special”
With that said the VEAL CHOP was and is amazing as is the steaks we had last visit. Stay away from the pasta specials they are up charged. 45.00 come on!
We will return but will never choose the 45.00 pasta specials again. Disappointed and they should hurry up and remove them from the special list. They do so much right but this was not one of them.
Service seemed to be rushed, and gave more attention to the larger table next to us. Waited for our drink order. Reminded the server several times, and when the drink arrived it was watered down.
The special needed to be sent back since it was missing the crab meat. When it came back the crab was cold.
Had to ask for a fork and knife.
Had to wait 25 minutes for our car to come from their valet service.
Disappointed because we know we had better service and food in the past.
Everything here was superb. The service, quality of food, ambiance, and overall experience was above par. Would highly recommend. A bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.
Brando's is hands down my favorite restaurant. I am very picky when it comes to meals and even pickier when it comes to dessert. Brando's never lets me down and the service is always amazing!!!
our waiter Bruno was great and the food was outstanding. Second time in a week I have taken collogues and both parties were very happy with the choice and experience.
Great food and wonderful service! Waiters went above and beyond to make a great experience.
Always perfect! My favorite restaurant. Frequent often! Highly recommend .
Best dining in Asbury Park. Food is great. Staff and bar tender friendly and makes a great manhattan.
Our waiter, Dylan , was superb. Food marvelous. Noise at bar was distracting. One group of young ladies were very loud. But Brando’s remains our favorite.
I went to Brando’s for my birthday and they truly made me feel special. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. They even put happy birthday confetti on our table. The food is expensive, but amazing!
Food was great. My only thing that bothers me is when you don't get price on specials before hand. You get bill and is shell shocked. It's not that I cant afford it but it would be nice to know before hand.
This was the worst meal we ever had at Brando’s. A transformer blew so they were working on partial power. They told us they could still cook but there would be no air conditioning. We decided to stay bc where else could we go on a Saturday night without a reservation. They tried. The server was so nice and tried his best. I ordered the sea bass. It was way over cooked. I didn’t send it back because I figured maybe they were cooking in the dark and were trying to play it safe. My husband had the pappardelle. I tried one of his shrimp and thought it tasted like dirty dish water. He said it had no taste. We ordered dessert. My husband ate the tiramisu but I thought it tasted funny so I stopped at one bite. My drinks were good and our appetizer was good...mussels. I had to use a flashlight in the bathroom. Maybe they could have run out and got a lantern or something to make that a bit easier.
I thought the hostess was rude. She was rushing people out saying the next table is here. I’ve never heard a hostess do that any where. And it really wasn’t that busy for a Saturday. We likely won’t be back for a while. The service isn’t always the best but we can usually count on the food. This time we felt like we wasted our money.
Excellent addition to Asbury's restaurant scene! Great traditional Italian with a modern twist. Great ambiance, service. We went there to celebrate a birthday and our server put the finishing touch on the evening with a special dessert for the guest of honor. Will definitely be making a return visit
Outstanding food, tremendous service & great experience overall. Highly recommend the polenta, meatball salad app and blood orange margarita!
Outstanding food and service - as always! (Bar crowd was a bit loud and obnoxious at around 6:00 PM.....but fortunately those folks left and it quieted down and returned to your regular great and peaceful ambience within the hour!) Wonderful dining experience - as always(!) - overall! Thank you - can't wait to return!
We went here for my birthday because it is one of my favorites!! Food was amazing as always!!! Meatballs were cooked to perfection and remind me of my grandma’s.
Excellant food ,numerous menu choices ,Excellant value.I made a reservation for next week upon leaving.valet parking sat & sun
Brando's is beautiful! We had calamari, fried zucchini, and prosciutto stuffed with figs and all appetizers were delicious. I ordered the sea bass, big mistake. I love sea bass but this was tough and tasted fishy! Everyone else seemed to like their entrees. The desserts were divine and I was able to enjoy them since I didn't eat much of my meal. We had the fried tortoni and the stuffed zeppoles. Both were excellent! I would go back but I would not order the sea bass again.
Great food and service in a wonderful atmosphere!
Awesome food..frequent Brandos but sound level is out of control..go for the food, not for conversation
Food and service were great but the noise was so loud that we and our guests couldn’t wait to get out of there
Great food and Michael was super waiter
The food is off the charts good and the service is watchful. The decor is great and we love watching The Godfather. This time, however, when I booked, it said full until after 7:30 so we made the only reservation the system would allow before that, 4:30. We were the only ones in the restaurant eating from 4:30 til 6:00 and that was irritating. Also, I hate when plates are removed while someone is still eating
We had an amazing experience. The food is sooooooo delicious!!!!
Great! Good and service were great.
Brando's is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything on the menu is top quality. The service is excellent as well as the decor. Great spot for a date night, boys/girls night out or the entire family. The staff always makes you feel at home.
Always consistent, always good .
Highly recommended and book early during the summer season
My favorite restaurant. The stuffed veal chop in the best thing I've ever eaten.
We have A New York restaurant palette and that may be why we we were not thrilled with this crowded restaurant. The server Abe was excellent. The bread was thinly sliced. They should consider small rolls or a bread that is thicker with more crust to hold the olive spread, ricotta (excellent) and oil. The place is loud with ca partial L. Invest in some sound absorbing panels to creat a better dining experience. The salad was great. The pasta Bolognese was flawed due to hard pasta, but sauce was as advertised. The sauce on pasta Sinatra was too spicy and wet. A for effort and not too expensive.
Waiter was attentive and courteous. Truly professional. Food was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Meal was outstanding and service was entertaining and excellent !!
