As always this restaurant is excellent. Food, service and ambience perfect.
We had a table booked for 12 noon, but they were still laying tables 15 minutes before and the restaurant was closed. The food was extremely underwhelming with no vegetables included in the main, even though the plate price was £20. The music was too loud and there was nil ambience. No surprise the restaurant was virtually empty.
They didn’t do anything to celebrate my anniversary, let down
The food was reasonable. It was very presentable but nothing more than home cooked good. The service was attentive and personable but the seating wasn’t comfortable with one seat much higher than the sofa bench style seating. The most disappointing element though was the sound level we found it impossibly loud making it extremely difficult to have a quiet meal where we could hear each other speak. Not what we had hoped for at all.
Very nice. Good food and good service. I recommend that place when you travel to London
Very noisy environment with a lot of young children. Maybe have a quiet area for patrons who wish to sit somewhere where you can hear the conversation ?
I enjoyed my meal , service good but portions could be bigger
Great for a pre theatre dinner. Would highly recommend the scallops and black pudding pasta.
Food was excellent value but the wines were overpriced.
We had booked a table at 10pm for a post theatre supper and as soon as we were seated we were told that the kitchen shuts at 10.30.
We promptly ordered but were rushed through each course - literally having the plates whisked away as soon as we put the cutlery down.
The dining room was empty considering that it was Friday night in central London and consequently there was no atmosphere.
The food was ordinary.
A disappointing end to a great night.
A cassoulet for £20 comprised a lot of beans, half a smoked sausage, a tiny piece of pork belly and a scrap of duck.
The £40 bottle of Rioja could not have been more than £10 in a supermarket.
The only positive was the service, which was very professional.
Famous chefs should not give their names to establishments such as this.
Great first time experience.
Menus not that original, but standard London fayre.
Lovely staff, great service, clever and unobtrusive. Would give 6* if i could. That's what the service charge is for though i suppose.
Would definitely return and or recommend.
I booked a table for 10 people and we were given a lovely long table in the middle of the restaurant. We had the set menu which was good especially the salmon for main and pear and almond tart for pudding. The chilli beef although tasty did not look that appetising. The most disappointing thing was the service which was rather chaotic and disorganised. There was no-one to take our orders and then one waiter came to take one person’s order and then disappeared for another 5 minutes before I had to call him back to take the rest of the tables orders. There was also quite a delay between drinks served and the various courses. A good value meal overall with the set menu and Bellini but the service let it down slightly.
Too much like a hotel bar, no atmosphere. Good food but lacked much imagination.
Food and service first class. Good choice of menu options for the diverse tastes of our 9 person party. As we were dining on a Monday we were able to make use of the "bring your own wine" offer - a great feature! Service was attentive, highly personable but never intrusive and really complimented the food and overall experience.
This is a beautiful restaurant with an excellent menu (not too pricey) and a very good service. Although it serves as hotel restaurant (and sometimes can become noisy with large groups) it’s an option to consider when looking for a nice dinner.
fery nice food a had my best steak in paramaribo suriname but this one tops that one
This was not a child friendly restaurant. Nothing friendly about it- very staid experience even for grown ups. Not warm and friendly service and poor obvious kids menu of spaghetti and nuggets and chips.
Food to which we chose was of a good standard, the creme brûlée’s was not to flavoursome, but okay, the Cote Du Beouf was nice, a little small for the two of us, good job we’r Not big eaters. Staff were extremely friendly and a great service !
My girlfriend’s meal was tasteless.
The waiter put so much pressure to speed up.
I will not come back.
Awful experience for a £ 90 bill.
This was an extremely poor lunch the restaurant was empty the main course was tepid and when it was returned it clearly had been blasted in the microwave and had dried out.No apology was offered at any stage
;the portion for the main course was small and we complained to the hotel on the way out and have not had the courtesy of a reply. Do not go here.
Always a good meal at the BrasserienJowl. I often grab a bite when I’m staying there!
Very pool food - No taste at all. Steak was dry and not tasty. Kids menu even Worse - no taste. Worst synthetic icecream in A White cup.
Food and atmosphere was lovely for a work dinner. Service was very friendly...
Having read reviews we knew this would be a good restaurant but we were wowed. The first bite of my goats cheese salad and I was blown away. My husband had the salmon and that too was amazing. The starter, main and dessert did not disappoint in any way and the homemade ice tea was beautiful and fresh. The waiters were very friendly and polite. The only down side is that with quite heavy accents some of them were a little difficult to understand when there is back ground noise going on. But overall amazing dinning experience and one I will repeat if ever at park plaza again.
Great food with excellent vegetarian options, fantastic service.
Great ambience, patient and friendly waiter, quick service, good food, expensive.
The meal started badly - there were a lot of crumbs on the seat so I had to ask to be moved and I found the seat uncomfortable as it was a low back bench seat. However, once we'd moved table and swapped seats with my husband things improved. The food was really good and there was plenty of choice. Service was attentive, in fact we did have to ask the waiter to back off a bit - you can only be asked so many times if you are enjoying the meal. However, food was so good any slight irritations could be forgiven and forgotten. And to top it all, at the end of the meal, along with the desserts we were given a plate of petit fours with happy anniversary on it. Lovely surprise. Given the standard of the food, I think the cost was reasonable and I would be happy to go again.
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service. Lovely menu and food.
good food but small dishes & wouldn‘t suggest if you‘re really really hungry.
Cena de nochevieja bastante pobre.
We have dined at Joels many times. This one was for a special NYE lunch. Joels made it a requirement of my confirming the booking the day before as being NYE, it was going to be busy. The indication given was this was a special NYE lunch and a different menu. On arrival, the restaurant was empty. We were the only diners until about half an hour later a few more arrived but only a few. The menu was not a special NYE menu but precisely the same as every other day which was a disappointment. The food was good, service good but we were let down by all the fuss made ahead of the meal.
The service was friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. My only minor gripe was the speed that the food was delivered. Our three course meal only lasted just over an hour as each course was brought out almost as soon as the previous one was finished. Not a huge issue as we didn't mind getting home early, but had we wanted to linger, it would have been a bigger problem
Convenient location in our hotel, great service, children felt welcome and catered for. Good wine choice and decent food. A relaxing meal, thank you
Trés attentionné, super gentil et trés joli. Dans un magnifique cadre. Dîner pour noël excellent. À conseiller.
Nice Christmas lunch with a menu contents for the whole family. Very friendly staff, nice food but price was somewhat high
Went for a Christmas lunch £78 however portions were small, charged extra for bread, online menu said tea and coffee included however we were charged extra, very cold and dark didn’t put anyone in the Christmas spirit. However relatively good food
Excellent venue for Christmas dinner. Very good service, great atmosphere and the food was just perfect!
Too fast, too expensive but poeple there were kind
Christmas Eve dinner was a pure pleasure- the food was wonderful, the service just great and we felt cozy and well cared for!
