The food was excellent - my husband said that the French onion soup was the best he had ever had - and he's ordered in numerous times over the years, so I take that as high praise. My dinner was excellent, too.

Foid was very good. Service was wuick though they got my drink order wrong.
It is in a hotel and there were many children in the room who were quite noisy.

Brasserie Joel is a tasteful and refined restaurant situated within the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel.

Subdued lighting and modern decor help to create a romantic yet relaxed atmosphere, and the staff are the perfect amount of attentive.

My dining partner and I ordered the ratatouille casserole and the Argentinian rib-eye steak. Both were delicious and at a reasonable price considering the restaurant's prime location on London's south bank.

Very attentive staff. Disappointing starter of goat’s cheese and ‘tomatoes’ which turned out to be sun-dried - in the middle of the prime growing season with all the wonderful heritage varieties available these days. Food perfectly pleasant but just to give a heads-up, 3-courses and one glass of wine came in at £110.

appetizers were excellent, but the main courses were mediocre and the service also was. It eventually improved but it was not commensurate with what you would expect at a very nice hotel.

The restaurant was almost deserted. There was a selection of dead carnations on the tables and the vegetarian main course was heavy on pasta and oil but light on vegetables. A very disappointing experience.

It seems they just want to kick us out quickly because we didn’t order dessert or drink after dinner. Take our glass without asking or offering more water. Food is not generous compared with the price. I ordered scallops, 4 small pieces.

Excellent food, good French based menu, and attentive service. We were unaware that the restaurant is part of a hotel complex and felt that the restaurant lacked ambience and atmosphere but this could be due to the fact that we dined on Sunday evening. The wine and drinks menu could have been more extensive.

Food was lovely - liked the bring your own wine on a Monday! Service was disappointing - basically ignored. We poured our own wine, were not offered any water so fortunately had a bottles in our bags. No offer of dessert or coffee or anything else. Server was pleasant but not at all proactive. Restaurant steady but not busy. As we’d been sitting for 2 hours we were ready to go - didn’t bother to challenge 12.5% service charge. Really nice food but service let them down tonight.

We had a table booked for 12 noon, but they were still laying tables 15 minutes before and the restaurant was closed. The food was extremely underwhelming with no vegetables included in the main, even though the plate price was £20. The music was too loud and there was nil ambience. No surprise the restaurant was virtually empty.

The food was reasonable. It was very presentable but nothing more than home cooked good. The service was attentive and personable but the seating wasn’t comfortable with one seat much higher than the sofa bench style seating. The most disappointing element though was the sound level we found it impossibly loud making it extremely difficult to have a quiet meal where we could hear each other speak. Not what we had hoped for at all.

We had booked a table at 10pm for a post theatre supper and as soon as we were seated we were told that the kitchen shuts at 10.30.
We promptly ordered but were rushed through each course - literally having the plates whisked away as soon as we put the cutlery down.
The dining room was empty considering that it was Friday night in central London and consequently there was no atmosphere.
The food was ordinary.
A disappointing end to a great night.

Very poor.
A cassoulet for £20 comprised a lot of beans, half a smoked sausage, a tiny piece of pork belly and a scrap of duck.
The £40 bottle of Rioja could not have been more than £10 in a supermarket.
The only positive was the service, which was very professional.
Famous chefs should not give their names to establishments such as this.

Great first time experience.
Menus not that original, but standard London fayre.
Lovely staff, great service, clever and unobtrusive. Would give 6* if i could. That's what the service charge is for though i suppose.
Would definitely return and or recommend.

I booked a table for 10 people and we were given a lovely long table in the middle of the restaurant. We had the set menu which was good especially the salmon for main and pear and almond tart for pudding. The chilli beef although tasty did not look that appetising. The most disappointing thing was the service which was rather chaotic and disorganised. There was no-one to take our orders and then one waiter came to take one person’s order and then disappeared for another 5 minutes before I had to call him back to take the rest of the tables orders. There was also quite a delay between drinks served and the various courses. A good value meal overall with the set menu and Bellini but the service let it down slightly.

Food and service first class. Good choice of menu options for the diverse tastes of our 9 person party. As we were dining on a Monday we were able to make use of the "bring your own wine" offer - a great feature! Service was attentive, highly personable but never intrusive and really complimented the food and overall experience.

This is a beautiful restaurant with an excellent menu (not too pricey) and a very good service. Although it serves as hotel restaurant (and sometimes can become noisy with large groups) it’s an option to consider when looking for a nice dinner.

This was an extremely poor lunch the restaurant was empty the main course was tepid and when it was returned it clearly had been blasted in the microwave and had dried out.No apology was offered at any stage
;the portion for the main course was small and we complained to the hotel on the way out and have not had the courtesy of a reply. Do not go here.

Having read reviews we knew this would be a good restaurant but we were wowed. The first bite of my goats cheese salad and I was blown away. My husband had the salmon and that too was amazing. The starter, main and dessert did not disappoint in any way and the homemade ice tea was beautiful and fresh. The waiters were very friendly and polite. The only down side is that with quite heavy accents some of them were a little difficult to understand when there is back ground noise going on. But overall amazing dinning experience and one I will repeat if ever at park plaza again.
