This is the place for the kind of high-octane, glam evening out that makes you feel you’re in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Serves good French food too. Zedel also has a bar and cabaret theatre. The restaurant is in an large and opulent Art-Deco room - originally part of a hotel modelled on ocean going liners. My only complaint was that on a Saturday night, Zedel was almost too crowded, but with good reason. A very special place.

We enjoyed this and having been there twice before I knew what to expect. There is WiFi but didn’t work/connect for me. So expect no signal down there. The set menu is great value. But be prepared for 95p charge per cover. Then 15% discretionary service charge. The steak was good and the peppercorn was delicious!

Nice food at a reasonable price but the staff were miserable. I stood aside for them when returning to the table and was invisible to them. No thank you, nothing. They mixed up orders. A birthday plate was shoved in front of the recipient without comment. This place used to be a happy restaurant but they desperately need to sort out the service as it’ll finish it.

A mixed experience. I had a table booked for noon and arrived ten minutes early. We went into the restaurant but we're told it was not open and were asked to wait outside. We then went to the bar and were told we could wait there but before we could sit down a very surly manager asked us to leave saying that too was closed. After this very bad start everything was fine. They just need to teach that manager about hospitality.

I was so looking forward to visiting this place. The place is beautiful, and I had a very good experience in your bar next door. I was very disappointed with the service and the quality of food. We had no view of the band at all because we were seated in the corner and next to the column. The service was horrible. The guy seemed to not know what he was doing. We had to aked for menus. Half of our drinks were missing. Chips were missing. French onion soup was bland with two small and old hard croutons and no cheese. Steak american turned out to be a burger meat swimming in the peppercorn sauce. Really disappointed with my experience.

We had a lovely meal at Brasserie Zedel. It has a lively atmosphere and with the tall ceilings the acoustics bounce the noise above that I did have issues hearing my friends. The food was cooked well and the service was good, but we did have issues trying to get the bill at the end of the evening. We were a group of four and they sat us in a booth which was a bit tight and too cosy, I should have asked to move us to a round table instead, but it seemed too busy. Next time I will pre-request it.

I visited Brasserie Zedel (yet again) on a Friday lunch time. Love the wide variety of choices on the menu, the afternoon live jazz band, and the fact it has a dedicated gluten-free menu. My fellow diner is French and rates this place highly too. Service is consistently good. Despite the size of the place, you can talk without having to shout. I had the goat's cheese starter, hake main course and managed a bit of good icecream.

We know it's changed hands. Staff friendly and efficient. Trio playing at lunch time was intrusive and too loud. If you're going to meet up with 'old' friends for a chat then I don't recommend it. PIty because it used to be our very favourite place.

Ruined by off hand waiter service-barked at my wife when she asked for some water not realising I had ordered-I am on it he replied-then dumped wine in glasses-no tasting offered- ok it was screw top- I could go on but after 10 minute wait for him to bring menu we left without dessert-shame otherwise beautiful setting

Having been to Zedel many times before, this time we were set back by service which wasn't up to expectations. Too many times we had to draw the attention of the waiting staff to order or to bring what has been ordered. No one seemed to be really in charge of our table. The atmosphere was outstanding as always, the food very good. Nevertheless, we will be back for sure.

Been to Brasserie Zedel quite a few times before but unfortunately the service has gotten very poor recently. The waiters were rude, the service was slow, great shame.. and after this poor experience we got charged 15% service charge - unacceptable.

Despite few guests, the service wasn't up to par. Our drinks were forgotten, there was no friendly goodbye, a staff member nearly threw the forks instead of placing them, and we had too many staff attending to us, causing confusion

I adore French food, I had the Frogs Legs followed by Coq au Vin and both were better than some places I have eaten in France. The service from our Waiter was also exceptional, he was a credit to the establishment. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

A good experience as always although the noise level gets rather high which makes conversation difficult. Service was good but needed to be called upon which can cause a problem particularly when there is a time limit on the table.
