Brawn is located on Columbia Road in Bethnal Green. A neighborhood restaurant and bar cooking food that is within the season and sourced through as many local suppliers and producers within our community. As of January 2019 in the interest of work life balance for our dedicated team, we will be closing Sundays.
Brawn opened in late 2010 to great critical acclaim receiving 5 stars from Fay Maschler in the Evening Standard, and a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2011.
Brawn is consistently good, relaxed and a great atmosphere.
Food was literally amazing. So so good. Good vibe. Whilst the service was efficient the waiter was a bit up himself and stand off-ish when we tried to make conversation. The female Australian waitress on the other hand was a total dream!!
As always, completely delicious food and great service. A joy to spend time there.
Food was truly superb, simple, inventive and tasty. Will definitely be back!
The best overall dining experience my partner and I have ever had. Food was exceptional and the service was highly attentive and thoughtful. Looking forward to coming back.
Amazing food, with the perfect ambience for any occasion. Would highly recommend for anyone whose an avid foody! Particularly loved the smoked eel and deepfried artichokes. Delicious!
Fantastic food everytime I visit, wonderful wine list and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Comforting excellence without being over the top in any way. The food speaks for itself
My fav place in our area !
Warm, genial service backed up with quality and creative food. It's somewhere you'd love to visit regularly. The open plan kitchen lent to the atmosphere, with no shouting or stress shown. The food was immaculately presented but had something wonderfully comforting to it, particularly the duck rillettes and the wood pigeon. Thank you Brawn, I'll see you again for sure
Tasty and very good service. The simple dishes were especially good. Wine list is good and fairly priced, even if a little lacking in variety. Overall would strongly recommend.
We felt very rushed throughout the evening! Staff had an attitude and made us feel quite uncomfortable.
Food was incredible however!
Love everything about this restaurant. Really the food is the outstanding reason to go, but I love the design, decor, wine list and service. Coming over from West, it feels like you’re in another city and you’ve just discovered the place u want to eat at at least twice while you’re there. Only one thing I find a bit much is the noise, as it’s an open dining space and if it’s full, it’s can sound like a real bru haha. Was my 4th time there and I know I’ll b back....
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend sharing many plates.
Stunning meal overlooking the kitchen. Very special anniversary dinner.
Highly recommended! Everything perfect!
Loved the simple but sophisticated atmosphere. All staff very welcoming and made us feel like home since the first moment. Amazing food, traditional with an international and original twists! The wine selection is also outstanding! It’s great for any type of occasions! It’s a charming gem with the flavour and groove from East London!
Good food, good wine, good experience! Highly recommended,
I had a small birthday dinner here and the food was wonderful. The staff couldn't have been nicer. It was such a lovely evening.
A wonderful meal with wonderful hosts ruined by the quarrelling couple next to us. Cannot fault the service or the food!
Best of the best
Always a fantastic time at Brawn.
Service is attentive but respectful. Food and wine are brilliantly priced.
Absolutely delicious food, staff were lovely, portions were generous. Amazing atmosphere and I thought it was great value. Definitely go!
Friendly laid back yet attentive service, good knowledge of the menu and wine list, beautifully cooked seasonal food. Food was presented beautifully in sensible portions - not too big not too small. Really enjoyed our lunch, will return for sure!
It's a lovely restaurant and the food is consistently very good. The service was a bit slow this time and some of the portions (especially the ravioli) were too small. Just charge a bit more but give a decent size portion for the mains.
The Tiramisu was fantastic!
Our fave spot in east london, maybe london. Relaxed, bright, friendly but always highest quality food, produce and great wine selection. Always has a couple super pasta dishes, fish and the tiramisu is next level.
Sensational restaurant. Almost loathed to give it an honest review in case I can't get back in... a lot!
Suitable for friends gathering or dating, also suitable if just wanna enjoy few hours self-dinning and drinking. Ordered salt pollock (cause I’m so curious about monk’s beard) and beef cheek. Monk’s beard tastes like chives lol (just like how it is described in Wiki), but everything is so fresh. Marinda tomato is perfect with bread. And the beef cheek is so so tender, perfect with pomme purée.
And the highlight of my night was Ad Vinum wine paring. Will def come back for the wine here. I enjoy the sparkling Les Sables but love Levat more.
And the ambience here is so comfortable. Truly a neighbourhood restaurant with cozy atmosphere.
We went for dinner on a Provençal-themed day. The snails small plate was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten, kind of wish I'd ordered just four of those! All to myself! The rest of the dishes were nice too and for the type of place this is the price was pretty reasonable (pricey but you get good stuff). Nice wine menu and lots of wines by the glass, which is helpful if your dining partner isn't also drinking/wants to drink something else. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff and in a nice area.
Such a great time.
Amazing food, simple yet modern and well realized.
An amazing wine list more than worth it.
I will be back!
Our visit to Brawn was an uplifting experience. It had been recommended to us by our son and it didn’t disappoint. Each of our choices from the menu were delicious. Dining in the kitchen area where the chefs were creating great food was a delight. Brawn will be top of our list for a return visit, in our next visit to London. Make and Seamus. Longford. Ireland.
Eating at Brawn’s was a revelation of flavours! From the olive oil and the bread that that they offer to the combination of flavours, we couldn’t have had a better dining experience. The staff were very attentive and they went the extra mile to inform me which dishes are ok to eat since I’m pregnant. We felt very well looked after. We are definitely going back again!
Adoro questo ristorante, a mio avviso una delle migliori esperienze a Londra.
Amazing meal as always - love the food and the service here, always spot on
always the best ! I love their food , the wine and the general vibe
A very sweet place, with lovely decor and attentive waitstaff. All the food was delicious and the chocolate & sea salt dessert at the end was more than enough to share between the two of us!
Good place to meet for interesting seasonal food. Pollak main course was delicious and not overcooked, mussel and squid starter taster but very small portion Black pudding amazing and i would certainly come back for more. helpful wine waiter who changed the bottle after I had tasted it for something else - rare these days.
The best vibe, service and food.
Burrata is a star dish and the bread superb. Loves the ragu and freshness of the salad
Fabulous, interesting food, beautifully served in a timely manner. Enchanting waiting staff. Pretty room and lovely atmosphere. The only negative is that the room was uncomfortably hot and I got to the stage where I had no more layers to remove. When I remarked for a second time in this a waiter said he’d check the air on, after which it got more bearable!
