Brick Farm Tavern
Our farm takes a genuine approach to sustainable farming; raising and pasturing our animals including pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks and goats on 800 acres in the Hopewell Valley creating a truly authentic farm-to-table dining experience in an 1800s Hopewell farm house.
The bar features local craft beers, artisan cocktails & wine tastings with Troon Brewing and Sourland Mountain Spirits located right on the premises.
We invite you to join us and experience our dining and cocktail menus based upon the very best ingredients this region has to offer.
Good overall but not outstanding. I would have liked the food to stand more on its own ie freshness of produce, quality and flavor of locally sourced protein options. Unfortunately the richness of the spices, sauces, reductions, compotes, etc. didn’t let the basic quality of the core ingredients shine as I know they would. I add my opinion might not be the commercially viable opinion. It is the opinion of a lifelong farmer with access my own and other friends’ farms bounty.
Setting is absolutely gorgeous and my colleagues truly enjoyed their experience (it was their first time at BFT). The food is appropriately portioned and so flavorful and delicious. Extremely gracious and attentive service. The butterscotch ice cream was out of this world. Thanks for making it a memorable evening!
We always enjoy the expert warm service by Joe B. It’s a lovely place, inside as well as the patio.
Went on a Sunday at 11:30am for brunch/lunch - was DIVINE! Besides the fabulous food, the Troon on draft, the service was the best ever. Our server Dan was hands down the best. He took incredible care of us, answered questions about the house, and even took us on a tour of the farm after our meal. Cannot rec this place enough - best find since moving to the Princeton area.
Great place to spend the evening. Wish you would have a stout on tap 100 percent of the time.
Great menu and wonderful service. Very pleasant atmosphere. Easy parking
Amazing food, great service and nice intimate atmosphere for date night!
Overall quality and quantity of food is excellent, as is the service, and atmosphere. However, they do need to step up their game with the French fries — they arrived with no seasoning, a bit like warm, and not crisp at all. The only other negative was the length of time between ordering dessert, which was simply two bowls of very good ice cream. Note: neither negatives are enough to keep us away.
Had a 6pm dinner on a Wednesday evening, so it was relatively quiet (vs. on a weekend). The food was amazing - fresh, the right temperature, and prepared how we all wanted. The drinks (including a newly released Troon IPA) were delicious. Excellent visit.
Second time I was there. Just as good as the first time. Food outstanding! Beautiful ambiance! I’ll go back for sure!
Delicious food! Great decor! Will go back again.
My third time eating at brick farm tavern. The drink was good. I was not to impressed with my burger, was not as good as i remember it being last time, and $16 for a mediocre burger is a lot.
Went there for my wife,s birthday. Totally random choice and we really liked the whole experience. Will try to get back again and I rarely say that.
While I really enjoy the meats raised locally (and accompanied with the outstanding wine selection) it's great to do a vegetarian meal, occasionally. The tofu was an excellent choice. It's on the spicy side and perfect with beer. Bill's recommendation of the stout was brilliant!
From start to finish it was a wonderful experience!
Small menu of seasonal offerings from the farm, delicious choices that my husband and I enjoyed tonight .
Sharing plates of humus and charcuterie were beautifully prepared .
Entrees of duck and husband’s pork were perfectly seasoned and very tasty .
Lovely desserts : lemon lavender cake and peach cobbler from local farm were so delicious that we wanted to lick the plates .
Service A+!! Danny was funny, attentive and always near by .
Oh, and complimentary valet parking is a classy touch .
High class chefs tasting menu and incomparable wine pairing by Maître Sommelier Bill. 5 stars.
Only been there once, for lunch this past Saturday. First, best hamburger I ever had, hands down. Whatever they did with that thing, it was great. And the side of fries, no grease, excellent. Second, they have Troon beers on tap. This stuff is almost impossible to acquire and they had two taps. The ale I had, right up there with the very best craft beers I have consumed over the years. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and she was impressed also.
Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. Our waiter (a British fellow...I can't remember his name) was over the top! Only thing to consider, we opted to dine on the rear patio which was great except for the horse flies which ultimately disappeared as the sun went down. Might have just been that particular night.
We had the pleasure to be seated at their "Chef's table" with view of the open kitchen. Was great to see the chefs at work and observe the care and attention they put into preparing the delicious food.
We had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, a very nice duck breast and a really delicious "NJ sea bass" which tasted great, was tender and juicy...
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in the area. Thoughtful and exciting menu, locally sourced ingredients, beautiful plating, and absolutely delicious food. We had the empanadas, cauliflower fritters, and cuke salad to start, along with very yummy fun cocktails. Mains were chicken, strip steak, pork tbone, and gnocchi. Chicken and steak were among the best we’ve ever had - and the fact that all the meat comes from their own farm ensured that it was fresh, local, and carefully and kindly raised. Dessert was tiramisu, ice cream, and flourless chocolate cake. All delightful - and would recommend any of them. Very relaxed atmosphere - wide range of attire - from T-shirt’s and shorts to dressier. Overall, delightful food in a well appointed yet comfortable environment. Highly recommend!
Food, ambiance, food, drinks, and food.
I was in the Princeton area to see family, ate dinner here solo. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home, and my waitperson even went so far as to take me on a tour of the grounds and facility!
I'd dine here again in a heartbeat. Excellent food, open kitchen, great friendly service, nice ambience.
I'm frequently in restaurants, and the Brick Farm Tavern is a winner!
Outstanding sustainably produced cuisine. Dan provided excellent service. Definitely will return.
Food was great. All fresh. Service was wonderful. Drinks a little pricey. Would definitely go back.
I was so disappointed; we were given a lovely table downstairs near the wine room which was cosy and gave a nice atmosphere. The menu looked promising and the server was pleasant.
We shared a starter, the empanada, between the 3 of us (it was a very large portion) and found it to be delicious. However, were entrees not good; my chicken was sparse, one piece no more than skin and bone and greasy. Combined with parsnip and sweet potato made the dish very sweet and there was nothing to break up this flavour so it wasn't well balanced in my view and I left most of it.
My husband was unable to enjoy his dish and also left most of it.
Our table took ages to be cleared and then we felt rushed as everything was being removed from the table including wine glasses (we were still finishing the wine) as if the restaurant was closing all of a sudden! Anyway, not what we expected for a low key birthday dinner.
Brick Farm was spot on. Service, ambiance, quality of food and beverage all high end. NJ has many dining options, BF stands out.
Dinner with son and fiancee as we were visiting from out of town. Our second visit to Brick Farm and it was just as great as the first. Charcuterie excelled and our entrees ranged from the burger to pork chops, tortellini, and steak. Everything was fabulous as was the very expert but low key attention from a competent sommelier.
The entire ethos of this restaurant has exceptional appeal. Don’t pass it up.
The chefs tasting was amazing. Our waiter Dan was on top of everything. He was very knowledgeable about the property, food and made the best recommendations. We will be back.
Brick Farm is always great. Everyone there treats their guests with such personalized attention and the food is terrific. Drinks are also extraordinary as are the non- alcoholic options and the setting is beautiful whether you are indoors or out.
Great atmosphere, delicious farm to table food and good service. Valet parking is a plus. Slight disappointment that there was only one Troon offering. The sommelier directed us toward some wonderful wines that matched perfectly with our food. We brought friends, who were very impressed with the entire experience.
Excellent food. Wonderful location in the country. Will be back again.
Outstanding food. We dined outside and the only negative was there were many many flies.
Outstanding outside dining; everything was up to the usual high standards!
Service was slow. Glasses had a moldy smell from drying with an old rag. Steak came out rare instead of medium.
Dessert took forever to come out and when it finally did the ice cream was melted.
Valet service was great. Hostess was friendly.
Our server Dan the man needs to hustle more.
Not impressed... great venue and beautiful grounds but food was not as anticipated. Portions very small - peach and burrata salad had very little burrata and looked like a child’s portion. The Berkshire pork was tasty but had lots of fat so little meat on bone. The sides were okay.....the wine steward needs more training...great place for drinks but we were underwhelmed for dinner.
Always delicious! One of our favorite local spots. Food always fresh and well thought out. Service is great, and it’s nice and quiet.
Amazing menu and food! Our server Joe was energetic and attentive. We had a lovely birthday dinner for my birthday and had yummy chocolate truffles brought out to us with a candle.
The meats were cooked correctly, but the roasted chicken was a little over salted. The Berkshire pork was a good cut and seasoned just right. I wish the had the drink on their website " Banana Nut Bread Manhattan" I would definitely got back around the holidays the building that housed the restaurant was very historic looking , very nice. Please watch the salt though.
Had the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Chef, som, and server were at top of game.
