It was a great place for dim sum and the staff were very helpful
Lovely dishes of dim sum served. Staff are friendly and attentative.
Another nicely cooked ho fun - delicious for a worker's lunch!
food was very good only comment it was salty.Suggest less salt then its perfect.Good service. we are pure vegetarian and found our choice. I recommend this restaurant for vegetarians.
Very nicely wok fried ho-fun served with some shiu mar - good to fill a hungry work belly.
Had the usual dim sum lunch - all very nicely presented and looked delicious.
Had a lovely dim sum lunch as per usual in my work lunch hour.
Had the Singapore Noodles with some Har-gao dim sum. This is more than ample for one's lunch .
Another nice outing for a Dim Sum lunch - this time around I had some spare ribs with Beef Hofun.
Another yummy dim sum lunch at Bright Courtyard. I loved the chicken feet and the mooli croquettes all served with glutinous rice parcels and shui mai.
Had the usual har-gui, shui mai, with glutenous rice parcels and pork cheung fun. Very deliciously prepared and served with the usual friendly smiles.
Had the beef ho fun with a couple of dim sum delights. I am quite a regular now as I work nearby, a couple of blocks away. The restaurant manager was kind enough to grant me a bit of a loyalty discount. All the more reason to visit again.
Ordered the sea spiced aubergine - this vegetable was braised with lotus roots, bamboo shoots, carrots and came in a lovely clay pot.
Reheated spring rolls, inedible prawns in the frie rice (more thai cooked than chinese) and sweet and sour sauce with excessive, and not a litlle, vinegar (although the pork was well cooked). And a 14% discretional service charge!!. Too little for too much money when in he City are plenty of good chinese restaurants for this price (and without this abusive service charge).
This time around I tried the chilli Ma Po tofu with pork mince meat - very nicely cooked and served in a deep bowl dish to keep the contents warm for longer. Once again, the staff were attentive and friendly.
Pretty bad service I just faced:
I walked in the other day for dinner, and told the lady in the reception I had a reservation, and went quickly to the men’s room.
Came back to the reception there, where they lady in the front desk was talking to another couple who just walked in.
I kept just standing by the reception, waiting to be seated, since I came before, but the lady just ignored me and then sat the couple who came after me.
When she finally came to me, I mentioned that I came before the couple.
She mentioned that I went to the toilet but I said that I finished and was waiting by the reception.
Kept arguing etc, and said something like “its ok if I seat you later on”.
It's ok for her to seat me later on, if I, who came before the couple, say so. She is not in a position to say what's ok, in this respect.
Argued and argued with a smily face (which doesn’t make it better), and I think it would help the restaurant, if they had someone less argumentative on front line. First impression is the last impression after all.
Other than that, a waiter which was hanging around where we sat for dinner, didn’t really understand english it seems, when we asked for things.
I have no problems with people who don’t understand english, but they shouldn’t be serving food in a central london restaurant where we are paying premium prices.
All waiters seem to be generally pretty edgy, and when i just thought it was just me who felt this way, my friend, who I brought there on another day, mentioned the same fact, that quality of service there has gone done.
On the whole, pretty bad service, right from the beginning.
Real shame since I am a regular there, and need to find another chinese restaurant to go to.
The beef hofun was beautifully cooked, accompanied by some dim sum, glutinous rice parcels makes a sumptuous lunch.
A lovely dim sum lunch which always has one drooling over the table. Love the cuttlefish fish cakes and this time round I had kept back a little room for desserts - the freshly steamed salted egg buns.
Food is excellent. Decor spacious and refined. Service good will go out of away to accommodate needs
Restaurant was very crowded and staff over-worked. We were sent to a table at the back of the restaurant which is in the lobby of an office building. It was completely souless like dining in the middle of a deserted Heathrow concourse. Food was good and service reasonable given the very crowded restaurant inside. Normally we have been very pleased with Bright Courtyard but not this time.
Booked table for 7pm, arrived and no table. 7.40pm offered “The Courtyard”......basically office space out the back. Eventually got table at 7.55pm. Why take the booking if there is no availability??????
Amazing food, beautiful setting and brilliant staff. Cannot wait to visit again
Another lovely dim sum lunch! Can't fault it. Dishes were hot and nicely presented, staff friendly and efficient.
Wonderful hot pot
nice dim sum, but the interior is a little dated and the lavatories could do with some work
Good to have dim sum for Chinese New Year of The Pig. Char siu Boa was nicely steam along with other delightful goodies.
Great tasting Chinese food, very fresh and large seafood, suitable for large groups.
Too full of themselves!
Undeserving hype has made this place more about the experience than the food
Had another lovely dim sum lunch, efficiently served over my lunch hour.
Another delicious lunch. Tried out more of their dim sum menus. The thai fish cakes were light and moist and quite fishy. Ended the meal with some mini baked egg tarts which were served hot with the soft centres.
Had the set lunch menu for two. Aromatic duck pancakes to start with followed by sweet and sour pork and szechuan prawns served with stir-fry vegetables. Yummy.
I had a few more visits now to Bright Courtyard as this is on the doorstep of our offices. The dim sum lunch was very nice indeed, went for the usual siu mai, cheung fun and tried some of their new shanghai dumplings. Very yummy.
Had another very nice dim sum lunch, service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Tried the eel puffs and jelly fish appertizer this time which were brightly presented with a hint of chilli spice. The glutinous rice parcels were also worth waiting for.
Exceptional service, amazing food- particularly the dim sum. A treat certainly, but not overpriced
Good food and ambience but service could have been better. Previous visits service was better
Too much noise, the service is slow and hectic. The waiters are disorganized
A very enjoyable place for lunch or dinner. Their special £15 lunch
menu is of exceptional value. Friendly service.
The food was pretty good, but do much more expensive than it’s obvious competitor Royal China. Huge king prawns in salt and pepper were delicious, as were the mixed vegetables, super fresh and crunchy. The dick was juicy but somewhat under seasoned, and the beef strips were more batter than beef and the sweet sauce more spicy than anticipated. So a good meal, helpful staff, but not reaching the heights you would expect at these prices. Also it shouldn’t come as a surprise given the name, but the room was too bright and soulless for my liking, fine day time but not at night.
Was very excited to try this restaurant because I had read the reviews and thought that the food would be amazing. It was really expensive and the food was very average and below most chinatown restaurants. The service was lovely and they were very nice but I just would go elsewhere because the food was so disappointing
Really enjoyed only the food when we ate at this restaurant
