About
The New York Times says that Bryant Park has become one of Manhattans loveliest public spaces, that has open air Bryant Park Cafe for casual dining and Bryant Park Grill for serious meals. The Grill is a gorgeous pavilion with a Hunt Slonem mural of birds stretching along one side of the dining room.
Consistently good service in attractive setting.
Noted Birthday for my wife but nothing was said. Hurried us through our meal
Awesome experience. Our waiter was fantastic & so was the food. Definitely will be back!
First time visit to the restaurant and wasn't sure what to expect. The menu makes it sound like the place could be stuffy, but it was bright and airy and full of people having a good time. And the food was delicious! We all ate from the brunch menu, and the plates were so huge we couldn't finish them. The coffee is good and really strong, and every version of egg we had was cooked to perfection. Would definitely come back here next time we're in the city!
LOved it... a very special place and perfect for my son's 23rd birthday dinner!
Needed to flag down a waiter for service...we don't think we would have been served otherwise. Besides that the food was outstanding!
Service was disappointing but after realizing our group was unhappy with the inattentiveness of the server we did see improvement in the service.
Bean soup was first bad dish I ever had there. Rest was great.
Had a lovely time, was not rushed. Food was very good.
Might be better on a sunny spring afternoon but not really worth it for dinner. Went for a Friday dinner date with my wife after having HF an enjoyable business lunch a few month before (place was buzzing at lunch, bright with great views of the park). Arrived to find restaurant only 1/2 full and the furnishings seeming a bit tired. Service staff tried hard but just didn’t have The pizzazz of a special night out.
Caesar salad was small and had tomatoes in it? Chicken Palaird was passable (huge portion) but seemed like banquet food. Save yourself the trip or wait for a sunny business lunch or spring happy hour
Food was good but service could have been better. Brought our main course with appetizer course still on the table.
Great dining experience. Service was great. We weren’t rushed at all and neither did we have to wait long—-timing was perfect. Food was delicious and nicely presented. I had the branzini and it was great
I had not been to Bryant Park Grill in many years, but after dining there last week, I definitely will not wait as long again!
Delicious! We had the monkfish and the cod and both were perfect. Our server was great and our table by the window was really a fun way to watch NYC go by. We'll definitely be comfortable by balc to Bryant Park Grill!
I have an annual meeting in NYC and I always take customers to Bryant Park Grill. Was really excited to see it on Open Table.
I had an amazing experience celebrating my birthday at Bryant Park Grill. The ambiance is warm and the energy exciting. The hosts and staff were so accommodating of my guests and added tables and chairs to ensure everyone had ample space and the food was fantastic. I will return soon.
The food was great but it was a little loud!
Great food, great service, great time. Lifetime native New Yorker, first time customer. Will be back.
It was the evening before our wedding and we booked dinner reservations in advance. The food was very tasty, perfectly seasoned and well presented. The portions were also really generous. We were made to feel very special and two members of staff congratulated us and brought us complimentary Prosecco - a lovely touch! Service was wonderful and our table had such a great view over Bryant Park. We were made to feel very special and the staff were attentive without being over-bearing. A lovely relaxing night, with great food in a lovely setting before our wedding the following day- thank you.
Excellent food and service - very accommodating to us with specific food requests. We stayed a fairly long time to complete business, and there were no requests to leave. Friendly service; great food - and a pleasure to be there! Janetk
Its a great location but thats where the greatness ends. Seemed like a lot of $$ for food that was average and service that was poor.
always consistently good
The lunch was excellent. The service from the waiter staff was superb. What add to the dining experience is the ambience which is light and airy. Beautiful setting.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The exterior of the building builds a feeling of class and elegance and the dim lighting and decor of the interior creates a sense of luxury. Unfortunately, it creates a sense of false hope when it comes to the food.
My girlfriend and I are nowhere near professional bloggers or food critics, but it doesn't take that level of entitlement to know when you are paying 5 star pricing for 3 star food.
My girlfriend is a very picky eater so the only app we could split would have been the bread trio, which coincidentally they were sold our of. So instead, we requested the bread basket as just something to nibble on before the meal. When we ordered the bread we also placed our dinner orders. Some how, our dinners came out before the bread.
She had ordered the lemon chicken and I had the Beef Short Rib. Again, we are not huge reviewers so bless her heart when she said her dinner was good. I tried a bight, and while the flavor was there, the chicken was overcooked, dry and maybe room temperature. 3 of my beef short ribs (the dish comes with 4 pieces) were incredible. Perfect texture and flavor. The 4th however, was dry and tough. The vegetables that came with the meal did not taste fresh at all and were warm at best. The side of couscous that also came with it was a mixture of bland and poorly seasoned. It seemed the flavors did not pair well with the rest of the dish. Additionally, when the bread did finally come, it was cold and seemed to not have been fresh. It was also served with hard, cold butter.
One saving grace of this place was the desert. We had the Chocolate Peanutbutter Smore and it was a breath of fresh air. The flavors were so rich that it actually completely uplifted our moods from our disappointing dinner.
To finish, the server we had was very nice but not to attentive to us. To be fair I never saw him stop moving, so his lack of attention may have been the result of understaffing.
On every visit to NYC we have dinner at Bryant Park Grill. It is such a beautiful setting with the view of the park. Great ambiance and the food is delicious. Great service too. So romantic!
Lovely setting for enjoyable meal. Vegan options delicious. Be sure to ask for the bread basket!
Food was very good. Staff was very warm and made us feel welcome and relaxed.
Service was very rude and unresponsive.
Food was over priced and quality was just ok
We dined here at 5pm before a show. We had the sweetest, most genuine server, Richard. Our hostess was also incredibly kind. We ordered calamari, filet mignon, steak frites, and the peanut butter s'mores for dessert. Everything we ordered was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be back.
Waiter was chill
Not a great evening, I explain. Very good service, very nice and personable waitress however:
Calamari were not crispy, soggy and quite tasteless, steak was huge and tasty but with loads of nerves and fat, very decent chips with it, Cornish hen average and drenched in a white gloopy sauce, not very tasty - heritage carrots were real hard, fish and chips was very average and the chunky chips were not fully cooked - in summary- very poor
Great find in central location. Nice variety on the menu and plenty of vegetarian options.
went here for dinner with my mom when she was in town. food was excellent as was the service! what a great dinner!
I loved everybit of Bryant Park Grill. Sitting outside under the tent was a delight. Getting a sense of how New York really is.
Our reservation was not found and the hostess was displeasant with us. Except this episode everything was good.
Dined on a Thursday evening
Reception excellent- very accommodating-
appetizers ok- tuna taco very good- oysters- average.
Cod had a nice flavor-salmon average.
Sorbet- below average- too hard-presentation average
Service-average
Overall- average
Wine price of $12 per glass(Pinot Grigio) is the best value on menu
Am not rushing back
I think, given the location this is a great value for dining. My girlfriend, Mother, and I all had different dishes to try. They did not disappoint! I can highly recommend this place just for the experience alone! Though maybe in the warmer months when the setting is even more ideal. Will definitely go back if I am in town again someday!
Not good. Very average Food And poor service
Great place for a romantic dinner or cozy chit chat with a friend watching people iceskating in Bryant Park. Atmosphere is nice and relaxing, food is delicious, service is fast and friendly. Definitely coming back
the place is showing its age . looks the same as it did 15 years ago . in a bad way . many choices on menu , that could be good an bad . most excellent resturants don't have 30 - 40 choices .quality not quantity makes it . unless your mcdonalds if they have less . the food would be better .the server just was not into being a server . I get it . but that is what you do . example . when a steak frites comes with a mountain of french fries . everyone should know the person eating that meal may want an need ketchup ! instead of me tracking down a bus boy to go get it . price are high . the rent in park .
