We had a wonderful time meal was excellent the staff were very friendly and attentive couldn't rate it high enough
Great food, incredible view and very fast, nice and attentive service. We had a pea mint soup and shrimps as starters, then the fish pie and finished with the baked Alaska. Everything was delicious.
What let the experience down was that the "mixed" vegetables turned out to be a bowl of spinach or chard - very disappointed.
I was lucky enough to be given a window table (which is very rare and much appreciated because in many restaurants single diners seem to be considered a nuisance and non-profit-worthy, so are usually seated next to the kitchen service door or in a far corner...). A genuinely warm welcome, with slick, professional but very friendly service. Excellent lunch menu, excellent quality and really excellent value-for money...
Location is just amazing but food just did not hot the spot for me. It feels slightly overpriced and the flavours just tasted abit bland. Staff were lovely though and the interior was so pretty!
Excellent vegetarian Risotto and a perfect Eton Mess. The salmon and the lemon desert were also very tasty. Soda bread was a very welcome addition to the meal. Only very slight downside was far too many courgettes! They were with both of the main meals and also in the seasonal vegetable side - but it was seasonal I suppose. The lady who took our payment was very positive and friendly and told us quite a bit about the organisation of the restaurant which was interesting. The bill was as expected, but we do find the drinks expensive.
Was looking forward to visiting Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias for sometime, our kids bought us a voucher for a anniversary gift,we visited n Friday evening and were so disappointed. The evening did not start well when we arrived the foh team continued their conversation as we stood waiting. The food was poor, starter of salt & pepper squid was very salty and this over powered dish, ham hock ok but nothing special, main courses welsh ribeye had trouble finding ribeye under sauce, very thin portion, fish finger with fries nothing special, fries similar to McDonald’s for pudding creme brûlée in a dish more like a soup dish.
We had (bad) overpriced pub food.
If Bryn Williams continues to give his name to Porth Eirias he needs to spend a bit more time there and sample the food on offer.
Enjoyed quality food at a fair price served by friendly staff in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere with fantastic views.
Always a lovely experience - great food there and a lovely atmosphere
The food was delicious, the menu sounds like delicious home cooked foods when you first read it, when it comes out and you take that first mouthfull.
You are blown away!! Best food around in my opinion.
Our first visit here, a couple of days before my birthday. We requested a table by the window which we were given. We were well looked after by the lovely wait staff. Our meals were perfectly cooked, my husband had the burger and I had the haddock which was beautifully presented. I'd seen photos of the baked Alaska on other reviews so that's what I ordered. I was not disappointed!! It was amazing and they even wrote Happy Birthday on the plate in chocolate for me! Can't wait to return.
Great food but menu is now limited. We have been going for a few years and the menu has become very limited although to my taste but not my husbands anymore. Food was lovely and good service but becoming overpriced with such a limited menu, and we have noticed in last 18 months or so they no longer offer specials.
After hearing good things about the place I was slightly disappointed with the food to be honest.
I’ll start with the negatives, The starter was disappointing. The croquette was bland and very average. The main was better, the duck confit was tasty but not enough sauce and the fennel was lovely but the chargrill lettuce was disappointing. The bill was slightly on the expensive side for lunch.
The positives. The location and place were very nice and the service was really good.
The weekly menu was very much to our taste, and the food was of a very high standard. I would recommend thr French savinon blanc difficult to match at that price
Great food, stunning view of the bay. Would recommend
Food well cooked and presented. Staff attentive and apologetic but a bit forgetful. They appeared to be rushing around a lot. Avoid cocktails not presented or served properly. Expensive at £9 for what tasted like a glass of ice. Would not have cocktails there again.
This was an awesome little find .... great food and great location. The matadee and the head waiter were amazing. Really knowledgable and well informed about menu and the offering. Areas for improvement would be some of the waiting staff (no all by any means) could do with some pointers from the two aforementioned staff. I imagine they are seasonal staff and might not be as engaged or invested as the more mature members of staff.
Wine, food, cocktails, are all amazing and at a reasonable price point.
Would highly recommend. Booking is essential at the height of the season. Chance your luck if your out an about and prepared to eat outside what would be considered “normal” dining time. Lunch at 3:30 or 11:30, evening meal early at 5pm and you might be in with some luck ....
Enjoy, I certainly did!!
Great view with lovely decor, food was nice but slightly disappointed with the fish pie which many seem to rave about, it didn't deliver any surprises compare to a decent Waitrose one.
Been a few times. Food is always enjoyable. Love the beach vibe/ambience. Now we are really not fussy or precious people, but the service always really poor. Nobody comes back to say is everything okay etc. Waitress leans over you constantly. There is never a smile or small talk. We just don’t get it.
Amazing as always - the mussels are to die for!
Fab service from fab staff. 2nd time and love it!
Always enjoy Porth Eirias. Great food and modern up to date buzz about it.
As locals taking London friends for breakfast (they had been recommended to visit the restaurant) whilst enjoying the situation and happy with the staffing sadly the breakfast was disappointing- a limited menu presented in an unimaginative way. It brought no credit to the Bryn Williams brand.
Good food. Pleasant service
We find this a lovely place to bring guests for breakfast, because of its wonderful location and tasty breakfast. The service was efficient and friendly. Will definitely come again.
Really impressed, great food, reasonable prices a good experience
A lovely meal with superb service. Wonderful views out to the sea as well.
Dinner on Saturday was excellent as usual. Great mussels and a lovely ribye. Boulangere potatoes specially nice. Bread could still be nicer and the sauce on the mussels is a little too creamy and insufficiently winy for my taste but I'm used to it now.
I had Mussels for starters 3 were closed when I mentioned this to the waitress there was no sorry or regrets just walked away.
Also the special Salmon and chorizo burger was nice but only tasted of salmon I enjoyed the meal but am sure the menu has not changed much, the 3 years I have lived here.
Had lunch with my wife on a Saturday in August at 1.30PM. Booked in advance on line. Shown to a window seat overlooking the beach/sea. This has happened each time we have booked in advance. Service was excellent as usual, friendly but not over so, very good knowledge of the menu. We asked about how the saffron potatoes were prepared and cooked and received detailed instructions! We had olives, starters, main courses, 2 large gasses of wine plus coffee all of which were superb. Bryn Williams is at least as good as many restaurants with Michelin stars that we have dined at. Very good value at £79.00.
Food was good and was well seasoned. The baked Alaska was Devine. (A trip down memory lane for those that remember this dessert in the 70’s.) Very good service and a lovely view of the beach. Parking on site makes getting there very easy.
Service was welcoming and nothing too much trouble, breakfast selection suited us all. Weather and view on the day amazing.
Everything about this place was incredible, food, service and situation. It's fantastic value, and if you're even remotely in the area it's well worth a stop. On the whole the food was exceptional, starters, deserts and fish mains were flawless. The wine list is a good length and everything we tried was top quality with a packet friendly markup. One minor let down was the vegetarian main option being a bit bland. That said, we cannot recommend this place enough, book in, you'll thank yourself for doing it.
Fantastic place, lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Diolch.
All good. Though take some cash to give the staff a tip as the card system doesn’t allow you to add a tip to the overall bill.
Overall the meal was good but the quality of the starters was not up to the price. I had ham hock which was very poorly presented and tasted very bland for a £9 starter but the rest of the meal was excellent and the location fantastic.
Had a lovely breakfast. My husband would have liked an alternative to mushrooms as he is allergic to them. Great setting.
Really nice food, beautiful restaurant. Levi the host is very friendly, helpful and provides an excellent service.
Attending for my mother’s birthday lunch we were very disappointed. Service was incredibly slow. Orders were forgotten, and our sons meal was covered in salt. It was inedible to him as he’s not used to eating salt. Very disappointing experience
Bryn Williams’ at Porth Eirias is a ‘must-do’ restaurant if you are in north Wales. It’s fairy unique in that it is a concrete block on the promenade. From a distance, it looks quite odd but once there it is such a great place to eat, you will not regret it. Sea views, comfortable seating, great service, a great view into the kitchen to see the chef team at work, fantastic selection of well-prices food with tasty vegan / vegetarian options. If you are a flavoured tea drinker, try the mint tea- it is the best I’ve tasted anywhere..! I use it for business meets, breakfasts and meals with friends. Only criticism is the noise levels when busy but that’s a small price to pay for a unique take on a seaside experience. Free parking, great works and close enough to Colwyn Bay to shop with ease. Definitely one of my favourites..
What a lovely evening we had celebrating our anniversary! Such a great place to sit with great sea view! Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Definitely visiting again. 👍
