Buenos Aires Cafe - Greenwich
Poor service, I was called 3 hours prior to my booking to inform me that they had no table. Open table is their secondary booking platform and they could not accommodate me as I had booked through OpenTable.
Great food, excellent and knowledgeable service. Terrific value. High standards and safe systems for Covid compliance
It was brilliant as it always is.
I’ve been going here for 5 years and it is my favourite steak place in London.
We were rather disappointed with this restaurant after wanting to visit for a long time. Our waiter was lovely, but unfortunately described a different meal to the one we ordered. But we only found this out after he brought our order to the table. Our steaks were all overcooked. We kept the medium rares, but had to send the rare back as that was medium- well done. One of the sausages on the sharing platter was completely charred, but they kindly replaced that for us. There was plenty of food on the platter, but most items came in pairs, which was awkward on a platter for 3 people. The Argentinian style fries were cold, but we didn't say anything as felt we had complained enough! Service was a rather slow, but dessert was really good, the wine that was recommended was nice, so overall it was not a bad experience. But the main meals really could have been better.
My other half was at home for Christmas so we had our own celebratory meal at BAC. I cannot recommend this place enough. Staff were rushed off their feet and utterly delightful. Food is all tasty and delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be coming back.
Excellent Argentinan steak and wine. Also nice vegetables and desserts. Strongly recommend to carnivores.
Thoroughly enjoy each visit to Buenos Aires Cafe! Quality dining experience and service is generally on point... 5 stars all round!
A nice lunch out but nothing special. It looks a bit sad to be served one massive chorizo sausage with a tiny limp bit of salad on the side. The empanada was rather blackened on top.
Had eggs royale for brunch; far too much lemon in the sauce. Staff are lovely, I will just have to do a better job of ordering next time.
Lovely venue, delicious steak, friendly service
Excellent food, we had the sharing steak platter with 4 different cuts of meat. All great!
Lovely atmosphere and decor - generally quiet and pleasant. Highly recommended!
Our favourite restaurant in Greenwich! We try to go once a month and always have a wonderful time!
Amazing the black pudding is what dreams are made off
Booked a table for 7 to have a nice lunch with friends. Wasn't too busy although it was 1:30, but got quite full quickly.
Delicious meat, cooked as each of us wanted it. Nice setting and good service
Do book!
Amazing food, good service and great red wine.
Service was quick, helpful waitress, food was decent, nice ambience with the open windows towards terrace. Slightly overpriced steak for its quality. Generous portion of dessert.
Webooked on line for a late lunch at 4pm. When we arrived, we were told the kitchen was closed from 4 till 5. So no meal. Website said lunch till 5. Very disappointed.
Lovely service and really delicious steaks. Nice and bright room. We haven’t been disappointed so far. Plus they are really family friendly. They have high chairs and baby changing room.
Great food, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced too. Would come again!
Excellent quality food at an extremely good price for its quality. Lovely interior and nicely tucked away. Would highly recommend requesting the back room. Hidden gem
Such delicious food! I am on a very specific diet (basically meat and veggies) and this is such a treat. The steak is cooked to perfection; and the spatchcock chicken had the most perfectly crispy skin I’ve ever tasted. Yes it is expensive when compared to some of the high street chains in Greenwich, but the quality is so high that I think it’s worth it. Plus I would much rather give my money to a local business.
Very happy with the food and the service. Will definitely go back again.
Great food - steak and are always cheesecake amazing!
Great place, amazing food, a rib eye steak to die for. Best to go on Tuesday or Thursday when they have live music. We went last week when guitarist Guillermo and singer Maria Laura were performing. Shame we couldn’t stay for too long, as their repertoire was great.
Good place for brunch, thought the English breakfast was very good and came with slightly spiced sausage and back bacon instead of rashers. Restaurant was warm on a chilly but sunny day given glasshouse type construction at the back.
Celebrating my son running the London marathon a great family occasion in a lovely restaurant with great food staff and atmosphere fantastic.x
They had run out of a few things we wanted and the place was empty for much of our meal despite being marathon day (although it livened up later on). Food was tasty though.
We have been a number of times and it's alwasy been lovely food. This was the first time we tried the 'set menu at lunchtime' and it will also be the last time. The steak is usually excellent however on this occassion it was a flat steak and 2 of the 3 were far too well cooked despite asking for 'less well done' (that was the choice...more done or less done). The waitress didn't ask if we'd like extras from the menu, so we just got chips with it. I had a soup starter and that was good. My two companions had goats cheese on slices of tomatoes. Didn't look appatasing at all. I would reccomend the restaurant but NOT the set menu. I'd rather they didn't do it than do sub par food. Very dissapointed.
Thoroughly enjoyable. The food was of good quality. The kids menu was varied and, again, excellent quality and delicious. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating area, which is non-smoking, so you don’t have the threat of someone’s smoke ruining your meal experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and indeed, it was not our first visit here!
Great little find in Greenwich
The squid ink pasta is a must
Great tasty food, portions about right and friendly but not overpowering service.
This restaurant was recommended to me.
Food came out cold, all our meals came out a different times.
Positives:
Nice dining area at the back.
Food was of very good quality.
Staff service was slow to start to take drinks order but after that was attentive, friendly and not intrusive. Knew the menu well when questioned about certain dishes.
Three quality courses, bottle of nice Malbec, beer and spirit to finish meal = £116. Good value.
Negatives:
Horrendously noisy (table of 8 and table of 6 in) and Saturday evening doesn't appear to be for a romatic night out.
However, manager recognised our discomfort and moved us to the front of restaurant for dessert and drinks which was nice and quiet.
Amazing place with authentic Argentinian food. Their weekday set lunch menu is excellent quality and value for money!
This was my second visit and not as great as the first. Items were not available on the menu and not explained by waiter whilst ordering. Items ordered were a steak and pizza, which were ok at best. Pity, as I had high hopes for this restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious, and plentiful too! Service was great! Steak was amazing.
Mother’s Day.
Service was average. Pudding - trifle was awful.
Ordered a £54 bottle Pinot noir and got a house Pinot noir! Yuk.
Sorry Buenos Aires we’re loyal clients of yours in blackheath and Greenwich but was expecting some lovely music for Mother’s Day ☹️
Steak was very very nice! Would definitely recommend trying one of the steaks with the chips
Awesome food, great customer service. Very happy with our visit and will definitely be back.
Unchanging comfort food menu in a nice room. The execution sometimes fails unfortunately. The ribs are usually excellent here but this time served luke warm. The wine never disappoints and the seemingly home made desert was very good.
