Burghfield Spices
Good food. Very nice and helpful staff. Not expensive.
Liked the food but one of the waiter was quite rude and condescending
We were charged for more than what we had asked for and what was served .
I am not sure I will be able to convince my family to go back there despite the fact that the food was reasonably good.
I hope this visit was an exception and all others get a better service.
Good food at a good price , staff friendly and welcoming. Always a pleasure to visit
Services was very poor, decor poor and not very clean overall, food was bland with not much flavour.
I am not a food snob or anything, I just appreciate a clean place to eat, good food and good service this is not the case with this place, i would strongly advice anyone to keep your hard earned money in your pocket and look elsewhere
Outstanding food well always go there again.
Friendly service clean area lovely food cold beer.
Amazing food, very attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere.
Only criticism - decor is very tired could with an update but doesn’t spoil the taste of the food though
A great Sunday Indian buffet at reasonable prices, plenty to choose from. Go back for more if you are hungry. Help yourself, but service friendly.
Sunday Buffet - great choice of dishes, piping hot, freshly cooked and delicious. Excellent value for money and very friendly staff.
Great food with good vegetarian options. (Lots of vegetable side dishes). My husband had the chicken tikka kebabs and commented on how succulent the meat was. Service was excellent- staff made us feel special. We were even offered a drink on the house at the end of our meal along with chocolates etc. What's not to love. Would highly recommend
Service was very bad. On two occasions I asked for a drink which did not come. As such, I was unable to have a drink with my meal.
With respect to the food, the meat dish was dry as there was not enough sauce dished up with the meal.
Altogether a very unleasant experience.
Fantastic I so am is one, great service, we will be back
This was the first time we had visited Burghfield Spices as we had previously visited ones in Tadley and had become disappointed with them. The food here was excellent, the service was very attentive and polite, and the price of the meal and drinks was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to Burghfield Spices. One thing to note though is to go in the right hand door as you enter the pub - It is not clear that you need to do this. The left door is for the Pub. All in all, a very pleasurable meal.
This is a Country Pub and Indian Restaurant combination with no obvious demarkation between the two. It lacked ambiance and the decor is tired. Our table was booked for 1930 on a Monday and, apart from the bar, the restaurant was deserted. The main dishes needed reheating, though the food was tasty. Staff were very polite and maybe the experience would be better on busier nights.
The food was delicious as always, we have never had a bad meal here. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. A lovely evening.
Whilst the staff seemed less than fully switched on and very busy the food was very well cooked and we enjoyed the meal. There was a rather noisy table nearby which somewhat spoiled the restaurant's ambiance but not enough to ruin the evening.
Yeah, knew I was passing through later that day so booked a table through Open Table. Needless to say the Indian restaurant was empty at 6.30pm on a Tuesday but it's a nice enough place to have dinner. Can't believe other pubs haven't teamed up with Indian restaurants in a similar fashion. Certainly saves a long walk in the rain at the end of the night in a search for food! The curry itself was plentiful and very tasty, if perhaps a little greasy, especially the naan. Jal Frezi was nice and spicy - just how I like it - fair play! Other than that, a very authentic, above average curry house and that's high praise indeed from someone who's has visited many hundreds if not thousands before. My only other gripe, and it's not just this place - if I want poppadums and vegetable side dishes I will order them from the menu along with everything else. Please stop asking, as if I'd not forgotten about them. Curry, rice and a naan is plenty to fill a ravenous man like myself.
This place even has it's own bus stop and late buses run into Reading or towards Mortimer. Has an English pub to one side ideal for a pre dinner drink then go into the spice restaurant
Birthday Meal , food was very nice highly recommended would definately eat their again.
Attended for our daughters birthday, all I can say is the food was fab, service excellent, nothing was to much trouble. Would i recommend Burghfield spices, We most certainly would. cannot rate this place enough
This was our first visit to Burghfield Spices and we weren't disappointed! We went for the Sunday evening Indian buffet which was great value. There was a good selection of starters and mains and we were full to the brim when we left. The service was very good and there was a nice atmosphere as it was busy but was very relaxed at the same time. We will definitely be returning!
Food very tasty but not enough of a selection on the Sunday buffet very limited. Staff very helpful
My friend invited me once to this restaurant - which serves on one part of the restaurant English food, and on the other (separate) part of the restaurant, Indian food.
Since then, i have invited in turns all my neighbours, family and friends! Nothing fancy, but a nice little place to have a good time in good company, with good food...
The service is attentive and friendly, the food is colourful and tasty, and I will be back soon, for sure!
Bar service was slow to start but the welcome and food quality was excellent. By the end the whole family definitely want to go back soon and they are fussy!
A little difficult to find but it is actually in the pub the Hatch Gate. The service was outstanding and the flavour and quality of the curry was excellent. They made me a special curry customised to how I like it.
Looks like a tradtional village pub but within is an excellent Indian restaurant - great servce, friendly but not intrusive; food excellent and varied, relaxed surroundings , we'll be back for sure, the nicest Indian restaurant we've yet found in the area.
Service was swift and the timing good. Some unusual dishes like tamarind duck, and we recommend the mixed tandoori grill. Good coffee too!
We used the Toptable 25%off offer - and were very pleased. Great food - great price :)
We wanted to do something different for our Valentine's evening dinner and although we live close by we had never tried the restaurant before. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, courteous and attentive whilst the meal was excellent. Good flavours and plenty to eat. This will certainly not be the last time we pay a visit.
Excellent evening with friends. We had varied options from the menu - excellent vegetarian options and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food which is as ever fresh, tasty and authentic! Served by friendly happy, tentative staff throughout - which is why we go back all the time and in between times use the take away service too!!
Thoroughly recommend it.

We were heartily welcomed at Burghfield Spices last Saturday despite arriving at 10 pm. We were impressed with the food quality of our curries, so different from the 'mulch' of the average curry. The ingredients were fresh and our meals were appetising and nicely served.
We keep returning time and again to Burghfield Spice. Very friendly, great service and excellent value.
I always ask for a Lassi which is not on the menu, and they willingly make one for me.
Frequently offer complimentary drinks at the end of the meal.
The menu is fairly extensive with plenty of choice. Recommend the Padwan Fish Curry and the Tandoori Lamb Cutlets.
Top service and good food. Made the mistake of ordering the Tamarin Duck but they replaced for another dish without a fuss.
Second time there, first time was fantastic, second even better. Superb food, best Indian restaurant I've eaten at. Best thing was the service, polite, really friendly and very attentive.
My friends and I dined at Burghfield Spice in Burghfield Village recently. I really enjoyed my meal, the service and atmosphere was good. The staff were very attentive and friendly and gave us extra ferrero rochers when asked. The food was tasty and I would definitely recommend.
Best curry ever! A real find, great food, excellent service. Highly recommended.

Burghfield spices in Reading was really nice. The food and service was excellent and really good value. Really liked the onion bhaji and paneer tikka. Would definitely go again.
Another delicious and satisfying meal at Burghfield Spices! We took a couple of friends tonight and a baby and the staff were really accomodating! Nothing was too much trouble! Can't wait for our next visit already, by far the best curry I have had! :-)
Had a delicious meal at Burghfield Spices, in between Reading and Tadley last night, we dined at 6pm and the food was swiftly presented to us, we had popodums, Chicken Korai, Chicken Shashlik, veg curry and Pilau Rice! What a great combination! Compliments to the chef! Will definitly be back! Thank you!
