My husband and I went for a birthday celebration. The waiter was very good and the starter and wine were also very good. Our steaks were over cooked however, which would ordinarily not be a problem but the manager proceeded to argue with us that they were actually not over cooked and tried to tell us about the beef being dry aged which contributed to the brown color. Sorry, but we are from Texas and have eaten 21-day dry aged beef MANY times and the steaks were definitely over cooked. Very disappointed at his attempt of customer service if you can even call it that. Unfortunately the experience left a bad taste in our mouths so we will not return. There are plenty of other steakhouses in London who also serve 21-day dry aged beef that cook their steaks correctly and have great customer service as well.
Staff were fantastic
Definitely worth a visit for the fabulous views but also the good food and excellent service
Service a bit slow but waiters were lovely- limited menu starters very good husbands steak not the best but they did take off bill. Venue and view of river and tower bridge spectacular xx
A lovely dining experience! Great food and service!
Lovely dinner, looked after my dog well, he’s never eaten so well! Service was impeccable.
The maitrdee was awful when we checked in. The table offered was ridiculous. She was extremely rude. Our waiter on the other hand was fantastic wouldn’t go back.
Great food, great service. Very well priced for location
Excellent service, very friendly staff and outstanding food. Highly recommend.
Fantastic location without a premium added to the menu ! Excellent l will be back....
Lovely to be back
Fantastic and efficient service
The service was patchy. Food was fine, but not quite hot enough.
Good all round experience. Would recommend very much
Good food, slightly obscured view next to the scaffolding
The setting is fabulous, right next to the River Thames looking across to the City & Tower Bridge.
Due to Covid restrictions we had to eat outside, and it was exceptionally cold on the river with no shielding or wind breaks. The heaters were ineffective too, so the blankets provided were appreciated.
The steaks are excellent, but the bill ramps up when one adds single person portion side dishes at £5 each (chips, spinach, mushrooms or broccoli etc). With £15 for a starter, a meal for four was £350 including one of the cheaper bottles of wine.
Food ok. Despite the restaurant being only 1/3 full we were guided to a table squashed between two other couples. We requested to be seated somewhere else - much eye rolling and huffing we were finally seated elsewhere. service was brusque. Much hovering around the wine bottle and we were reminded 3 times that they wanted the table back after 90 minutes. Felt like being on a factory conveyer belt. Not a great experience.
Requested outside table and was swiftly accommodated.
Selected set lunch menu which was very good.
Courteous server and accommodating in every way!
Wonderful food as always. Friends had the Chateaubriand - very jealous - will definitely have that next time. Chicken livers as a starter were spicy and well flavoured.
Although it was quiet the food and staff were quite excellent once again.
Great atmosphere and good steak!
Super service - all waiting staff were perfect. and so lovely to be able to enjoy a great sunday roast outside overlooking Tower Bridge.
Red wine on the bottomless red deal is delicious too.
Always an excellent meal every time my wife and I come here when in London. Great views, great ambience and great food and service.
Fantastic meal at the chop House and they coped with the new 10pm curfew very well
Interior is not very designed. Feels like a pub. Seating not comfortable and not cosy.
This is written accepting that there are restrictions due to Covid. Tables v close together - barely 1 meter but or guests sitting down much less.
Service slow, food adequate
As always a wonderful lunch. Sat outside in the unseasonal sun with a great view of Tower Bridge. This time last year we were opposite Tom Cruise and James Cordon filming on a boat! Service is subtle and well timed and food - livers ( exceptional and spicy) and steak ( slightly less tender than expected - but great taste ) was great. Very good value French Malbec - sub £30. Will be back in 4 weeks for a friends birthday!!
Back to work menu was very good value. Will go again..
The food is really good and the position is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. I am a meat eater and they make a very good steak. My family enjoyed the Sunday Roast.
We were a group of four. COVID restrictions were in place with PPE and social distancing. Great service. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The roasted mushroom tartare was immense and I managed to get this as part of the a la carte menu instead of the set menu. My companions all enjoyed their meals and the cocktails and wine were delicious. All in all a lovely evening riverside.
- Given option to sit outside or inside.
- Outstanding service. I think her name was Dani or Jenny but I might be really far off 🤦
- We had: - Sweet chilli squid and rosemary sourdough, half lobster and lamb shank and both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Starter was good. Main and dessert were great.
- Lovely view of Tower Bridge
- Felt safe and as though precautions were being taken
Disappointed as earlier in the year this restaurant was dependable but twice in last month it's been rusty and haphazard cooking and service.
Ok, not amazing, food was a bit bland, service just ok
The setting is what makes this restaurant. Food good steakhouse standards. Feels strange that the £17 fish comes with chips. But the £35 steak requires an extra purchase....
Went there on Saturday for my birthday
What a spectacular view we had sitting outside looking onto the river and sight of Tower bridge incredible
The service was very good but have to say on talking to my friends afterwards we were all let down by the food two of our party had steaks which were over done one couple had the chateaubriand which was enough for one person really but as it was my birthday my friends did not want to make a fuss
But what the bill came too and seeing we had no alcohol apart from one drink the bill was way over the top
Would I recommend the place to others for the site yes but on the food and value for money no
Wonderful location with a nice terrace overlooking Tower Bridge. Only two things topped the and they were food and service.
We went for dinner he fixed price menu which was extremely good value.
A great way to pass a summer Saturday afternoon.
The biggest selling point of the restaurant is the amazing view of Tower Bridge. Some staff were friendly and others with little emotion, so odd at times.
Observation whilst at the restaurant, it's a first date hot spot with 5 tables near me on obvious first dates. Overall, good but not excellent
Very good meal but limited choice on the menu as a lot of dishes were finished.
Service was diabolical. We spent our entire evening chasing staff to take our order. Not the kind of service you expect for the menu prices.
Great to be back. Relaxed, great food and service.
