It was ok
Couldn’t find my booking on her tablet when we arrived .
The crab starter was very good . The duck was a bit dry and bland to be honest . The chocolate mousse was also rather bland , very chocolatey with dark chocolate but nothing special. It was very busy in the bar area and seemed like they needed more staff in the restaurant.
My dessert didn’t arrive and I had to ask for it from another waitress. The venue was extremely noisy. I reduced the 12.5% tip placed on the bill due to the service problem.
Well I gave it a go but there are better places nearby
Very pleasant old-fashioned surroundings and helpful staff. Had breakfast with my grown up children and was just about able to hear the conversation - lively and quite a buzz. Coffee good but breakfast a little mediocre - stone cold poached eggs. Best to go for the decor and surroundings.
Food was good as usual
Unfortunately, we have been asked to leave the table quickly after only 1h30 there
I totally understand we can't keep a table more than 2 hours but it needs to be said when you arrive
I loved this place but I am not sure I will be back soon :(
I just found it a bit too in your face, screaming secretaries and their braying boyfriends, what are they on???? best take a table away from the main bar if you want to talk, we had to move but had a good time whilst shouting at each other
if it's too noisy ask to be moved to the quiter area. The waiter was happy to find us a table there.
Had the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious. The service was impeccable and the whole experience lovely. We had a table by the window and it was lovely & light - some of those tucked in corners were very dark.
The pre theatre set menu is such a bargain , we had plenty of time to eat and drink before our show. Tip- you dont need to be going to watch a show to enjoy the deal :)
Still a great place for drinks, nice buzzy atmosphere and would go back for that.
The food was a real disappointment. Chicken was greasy. Fries were hard and warm. Steak was small and poor quality. Again fries were hard and warm.
Very impressed with this restaurant. Unusual to find a French restaurant with a casual Cafe style which works very well. Great location and we had a great spot right in the corner so more private and away from the bar. The food was very tasty and not too heavy for French and very generous with the complimentary bread. The service was absolutely outstanding though!
already recommended to work colleagues and my daughter and will return in the evening soon
I loved it. Our servers were fantastic, great food and amazing value with the post theatre pricing - steak tartare, duck confit, plum galette and a glass of wine for £17. Wow!
Despite the pouring rain and the doors along the side of the restaurant being open to the elements the temperature at my table was comfortable. On entering it seemed bustling and noisy with chatter and live music but again at the table this was not an issue and talking with my brother was easy and not a problem. The atmosphere was excellent here. The service was in equal parts friendly and attentive too. As a Parasien style cafe in London it blends beautifully and the food is as you would expect with classic French dishes but able to cater for all tastes. The Steak Bavette normally a cheaper option among steaks was excellent and is highly recommended.
All in an excellent experience and an ideal pre-theatre destination for many west end theatres.
Great food and service music was really loud too loud.
Really awful service. We waited for 30 minutes for drinks, the food was mediocre at best. Such a shame
The place is nice but please please try to keep the noise down - we couldn’t talk to our friends in the table :(
This place is a gem!! Impressed my boss from overseas with a visit to this lovely place and the service, ambiance and food couldn’t have been better. Just perfect! My 6th time there and it’s only gotten better over the years.
Cafe Boheme never fails to deliver. Attentive yet not obsequious service, delicious food and wine, and a wonderful atmosphere. (The music volume was a little loud this time, it felt as though we were having to shout to one another, but once the live music started in the bar area, it was MUCH better!)
This is a regular haunt of mine for pre theatre dining. I have to admit on this occasion the service was not as attentive as usual, the lighting too dim to be able to read the menu easily, and the table next to ours was quite rowdy. The food, however, was as tasty and high quality as usual.
Always a pleasure to dine here, great staff, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere.
Super cool pre theatre dinner - great two piece providing music- onion soup and steak frites were spot on - nice crowd
A very relaxed place with some live jazz music which is nice. Great pre-theatre menu with fast service if you let them know. I like the frites skinny and crispy and salmon was perfectly cooked.
Staff were polite and friendly. We had to rush as we had a show to catch it but would be nice to relax in that buzzy surrounding.
A soho institution; very good food decent service and a lovely place to while away a long lunch on a Friday
Food is good and service was friendly and attentive, but according to open table they marked me down as a no-show despite me arriving early and spending two hours on the premises. The interior is cosy and intimate, but the music was loud and intrusive to the point where we had to raise our voices to be heard. I used to regularly visit Cafe Boheme for working lunches - reluctant to do so in the future.
Great personal and friendly service. Quality food served with French flare. Atmosphere, just like a Parisian bistro. Recommended especially for the Steak Tartare!
The food here is consistently good and there's a good range of dishes to choose from. The wine was OK but I wouldn't say it was value for money. There were 2 of us and we order the 3 course meal but were overcharged on our bill which we only realised after. All in all it's a good place to eat and the food is good but just a few details on service need attention.
The only thing stopping full marks was a wobbly table that splashed water all over the table and into my bag which was unfortunate.
The staff were also a little slow considering the place was empty, and quite frosty but apart from that the experience was fine. The food was delicious.
Very attentive service. Thank you.
Very comfortable surroundings. Service was excellent.
This has been a fave of mine for many years. Always consistent and the service is always fabulous. Beautiful decor with a great vibe.
Birthday, post-theatre dinner. We had a really lovely time. They were very accommodating, and very considerate about our allergy requirements.
Great service, great vibe, nice food, lots of fun.
Had a great time and will definitely go back. A little disappointed that there was no live music.
Busy, vibrant and lovely food. Service was the only let down but the staff were stretched.
Great french bistro, frankly better than many in Paris.
The Prix Fixe menu is one of the best values in London or any major city.
Steak tartare excellent. Service great. Loved the escargots.
We had previously been for an enjoyable lunch, so decided to book for dinner after the theatre. Unfortunately this time the occasion was not as pleasurable. We were placed on a table in a dark, cramped corner by a large group of noisy drinkers. It was so dark we couldn't read the menu and so noisy we couldn't hear each other speak. I don't think the mix of people only drinking and people wanting to converse over a meal works in such a small space. So, we would probably go back for lunch, but certainly not for dinner.
I had only been here for a brief drink once before. The food is well worth it. Delicious, simple and definitely worth the price. Cocktails haven't so far been as wonderful as the food, but still certainly tasty.
As always this is a fantastic place for dinner. Live music some evenings with great cocktails. The standard of food is excellent and will always recommend to a friend! Looking forward to the next time!
Good vibrant place, with live music. Remind me a bit like a typical Persian cafe. Decent food too.
Amazing experience. Food and coffee was delicious. Service on high standards. Definitely will back there
