My friend found a great find with this one, a beautiful water view next to the window. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to make us feel welcome which was much appreciated as no restaurant compared to the service at cafe chula. Beautiful little restaurant/ bar hidden in Camden. Can’t wait to go again :)
Was fun, good service, good music! Would come here again for another date or with friends. Good value for the area. Food was quite spicy but was given free sour cream when I asked for some. Good cocktails!
We were visiting Camden for a concert and booked Café Chula from a Google search, we were not disappointed the restaurant had a really nice vibe , the staff were excellent and the food was really tasty and authentic.
We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great Mexican culinary experience.
The food options were limited. The cocktails are small, tasty, but not good value for money. The location is great. It was worth checking out, but there's better Mexican options in London.
Great food & service, with a good atmosphere to go with it.
Andreas was a great host who made the best out of a difficult situation. He was friendly and funny. The drinks were fabulous and the live music superb. However, Chula's sister venue upstairs, where we had to go for food (Lockside) was dreadful, with no redeeming features other than a pretty view over the canal.
We were up for tasty tacos in Camden, and couldn't have found a more perfect place! Nice located by the river, a colorfull enviroment, with a cool bar and superfriendly service! Quality tequila, and creative drinks after the meal, made this night a winner!
The service was good and the atmosphere great, but I wasn't very impressed with the food. It was quite bland and lacking in flavour. The menu was also much more limited than the one the Cafe Chula website and the range of vegetarian options was very poor.
Staff were lively! Worst Mexican I've had in London. Smallest portions. Shortest coctails with biggest ice cubes for £8. Therefore greedy owners. Sorry, never again. I'm sure tourists keep it going it's right in the middle of Camden market.
The food was great and the Chula Mula cocktail is a new favourite but the service is terrible. They were really slow to take orders or offer more drinks and the staff were really grumpy and disinterested. Wouldn't rush back.
Tried to get in here on an afternoon and it was packed out. Very popular place in the heart of Camden. Pre booked a week before and got a table. Buzzing atmosphere, fast and pacy, not for a romantic dinner! Food okay, my meal was a very salty and was up drinking water all night. Also not the hottest. Not sure if had been sat on the side for a while. One unisex toilet so if busy you may wait for a while, plus non diners pop in to use it. Don't let this review put you off. It is a very popular restaurant.
Lovely food as always and a good selection of tequila which the staff were very knowledgeable about!
Great food and drinks, liked the feel, it was a bit empty on that night though
Delicious! Small guacamole serving though. Fast service and yum
Great Mexican food, excellent service and top notch beers and cocktails. Got to do all you can to support small, independent restaurants such as Cafe Chula. Couldn't find a single fault and trust me I always look! I would happily go back again and again.
Three friends and I had a get together here, we hadn't seen each other in ages! We ordered 3 fish tacos and 1 prawn quesadilla. When the fish tacos arrived the fish was really smelly and was clearly off, the stench in the restaurant was quite strong! We all tried eating the fish but it wasn't pleasant. After sending the food back the staff were great at getting us new dishes and apologising. The restaurant was great for getting together and having drinks but I wouldn't recommend it for food until freshness is guaranteed!
Very nice and cosy place.
We will come back for sure.
Staff really friendly and kind, food really good and great atmosphere: cosy and homy
Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service.
Nice dinner but bit of a disappointment that they closed the kitchen without notifying us.. so when we wanted to order desserts the answer was not possible.. ok coffees then maybe? Also not possible..
Otherwise nice experience and good value for money
Booked for my friends hen weekend. Great great food. Delicious cocktails. Attentive staff and helpful answers to all of our questions about menu and cocktail choices.
Staff very friendly; food very good; we were not rushed and we could take time over courses
Very nice restaurant in the middle of the market. Super service, great drinks and even though it is a relatively small menu is has a fine selection. Would definitely recommend the place for a lunch with friends.
Best nachos I've ever had! And we both thought our mains were excellent too. Very nice, friendly staff too. Definitely recommend.
Always come here for our anniversary as we love it that much.
Delicious, authentic food but too expensive for the portions you get. I paid £10 for 2 very small street-style tacos with no sides; left the restaurant still hungry. It's a fun Mexican joint in Camden Market, so I expected a proper feed for £10 but instead got skimpy gastropub portions! Happy hour was good value though. Service was friendly however one of our orders came out wrong (ordered a quesadilla but got a steak instead) and we had to ask 3 times to get the bill. Atmosphere was nice and lively even though our party of 5 felt a bit cramped at the table by the door. Overall, I would recommend it but 3 street tacos for £10 would make for better value and more satisfied customers. Thanks.
Very lively bar. Good for catch up over drinks. Food was tasty but maybe too busy and loud music for a meal.
Awesome staff, great food. One of my favourites in Camden!
Nice atmosphere, a little bit too noisy inside. Warm service and good food served with a smile
We booked in rather hurriedly for some pre-gig sustenance and were blown away by the quality of the food and the ambiance. Really delicious, fresh takes on Mexican standards, extremely welcoming staff and some cracking margaritas - all for a very reasonable price.
