One table very loud... our lunch was nice and service very good !
Such a beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and wonderful service.
Very safe and distance friendly.
Food was good but pricy for what we got. One relatively small crepe with a salad and some cold cuts cost $36. That seems like a high price to me.
I had a wonderful late lunch with a friend at Cafe Jardin. Their outdoor seating at Sherman Gardens is a delight. The food and service was excellent - I had the trout and my friend had the salmon, and we both enjoyed our meals. Chef Pascal came out and talked with us for a few minutes, he is such a talented chef and nice man. All in all, a wonderful event!
The setting is beautiful!!
We were very pleased with the safety protocols.
We were a bit disappointed in the limited menu.
My friend and I had lunch out on the patio and were delighted with everything. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with suggestions, our food was excellent, and you can't beat the unique dining atmosphere with flowers, fountains and beauty everywhere. We both ordered the trout almandine which came with whipped potatoes and fresh green beans. The trout had perfectly seared skin, which allowed it to be enjoyed with the delicate meat of the fish. This perfect dish was a bargain at $21.00! We enjoyed one of the most relaxing lunches and ended with a stroll through the grounds as they get ready for Christmas. What a beautiful beautiful place.
What a beautiful restaurant set in a garden. The French cuisine is excellent, in the perfect ambiance, cooked by Pascal, a famous chef. It rarely ever gets any better.
Food and service is always impressive!
The gardens add another level eye candy!
Would like to see new menu options though
Lovely Sunday Brunch with family. The food selection is good.
Loved the beets salad and both my husband and daughter got salmon. Nice of the chef to come out and say hello to everyone.
Elegant Fine Dining meets Comfort Food in an interesting and manicured garden which presents the perfect backdrop for outdoor dining. After we'd eaten, Chef Pascal came by to chat a little and we discovered that unlike Gordon Ramsay, he rarely curses in the kitchen and even then, only in French.
Such a gem of a place with beautiful patio overlooking the gardens. Service was excellent and staff have adapted well to restrictions making the necessary changes without sacrificing quality, ambiance or service.
Cafe Jardin is always a delight! Beautiful garden setting, lovely food, and friendly service.
It was beautiful! Everything we ordered tasted perfect and service was great too!
Fantastic French food & drinks in an amazing hidden beautiful garden. Really worth it.
Wow, what a magical place and the dining experience was fabulous. Chef Pascal even came out and said "hello" to us which added to the specialness of the overall experience.
Lovely area and we will certainly return! Beautiful gardens. One must pay $5 for garden entry -- That is in addition to the cost of lunch but well worth it!~
We shared the lyonnaise salad, salmon in orange basil sauce, baguette and the lemon tart. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We want to back and try everything!
Wonderful little cafe with amazing ambience, service and delicious food. The portions are good for lunch. Great go to luncheon destination with friends. Excellent sanitary procedures. Fun trying a new dish each time. No negative choices. Relax and enjoy the unique setting.
The food was pretty good. Not exactly English Cream Tea. The scones are a joke as far as size . They are good but honestly have nothing to do with scones. Beautiful deserts and sandwiches are pretty good. The service was not great and the girl was not exactly very friendly. The gardens and location of the tea area is beautiful. For 40 dollars they could serve water in glasses and not plastic . All should be served at the same time not scones first and then sandwiches. Next time we will try lunch. Yes is disappointing.
Chef is so creative. Every bite was delicious and a piece of art.
It is always a special treat to dine in the garden and enjoy authentic French Cuisine. Open Wed. thru Sat for lunch and for Sunday brunch it is a wonderful experience. Trout Almondine, Potato Leek Soup, Grilled Octopus, fresh Baguettes. So good!!!!
The garden atmosphere is delightful. They decorate for the season. So, it was a Halloween experience. The gift shop did not have any Teeshirts for souvenirs but they did have very nice items.
Thank you for the safety protocols in place. Lovely setting for a get to together with an old friend. We visit here every time she comes down to Southern California.
Food, service and patio -exceptional!!!!
Was so good the last time that we came back again!
I had lunch with my friend at Cafe Jardin. Our table was shaded by an umbrella and had a view of the gorgeous gardens. We both had the daily special, braised short rib bourguignon with seasonal squash and egg yolk fettuccini. The beef was tender and delicious. We shared a lemon torte and apple tarte tatin. The lemon torte was good. The Apple tarte tatin was amazing. Everything was plated beautifully. We also each had a glass of wine and cappuccino. After lunch we toured the gardens and visited the gift shop. A wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend it.
Food was good, I had the lamb salad with Tsidiki sauce.
I thought they should have served it with a piece of pita, they didn’t serve any bread or carb with the salad.
The lemon berry tarts was delicious.
Always a wonderful escape to have lunch at Cafe Jardin. Wonderful food in beautiful garden. Consistently good. Love it!
As usual the setting in the gardens is splendid...especially now with the pumpkins and all the blooming flowers. The menu is limited but delicious choices....I had Lamb salad which was awesome. We delighted in 2 desserts - one a Chestnut tart with dates and an apple tart. Both has very few berries! The service was delightful - a young lady constantly refilling our drinks. I was happy to see 'real' silver but disappointed to see bamboo plates which are disposable AND plastic cups. Fortunately, my dessert was warm so it came with a real bowl and plate. Thanks Sherman Gardens for a wonderful afternoon!
The atmosphere and view is unbeatable, but the food was pretty disappointing.
So fun and relaxing . Food and service excellent. Cannot wait to go again.
Everything is wonderful here!
Ambience, Service and Food is what I appreciate and Cafe Jardin did not disappoint! Thank you!
The staff was so nice and having brunch in the was a beautiful treat!
Excellent food, calming environment surrounded by generous vegetation.
Social distancing, masks worn, very safe feeling.
Great food & setting!
The salmon with orange sauce was cooked perfectly and tasty. The tomato soup was the best ever, and the ratatouille when enjoyed with mashed potatoes was excellent! The service was very good.
I love the food at Cafe Jardin, and sitting outside is so nice during Covid. I am not sure why they have plastic cups for water and upscale paper plates for the gourmet food. Nothing about plastic or paper is safer than glass or dishes. It seems very wasteful and does not offer the same high-end experience for the prices. I can live without a tablecloth for ease of cleaning, but please bring back the real dishes!
I appreciated the careful sanitation considerations taken by all the staff. Everyone had their masks over their noses and mouths, which I really appreciate.
The food was wonderful, and the seating was ideal. Perfect day!
Such a beautiful ambiance and delicious food if a bit pricey.
Terrible service. Our server had an attitude and was getting irritated with requests for silverware or extra napkins or straw. Was rude and knew that since it was a party of 8 they could automatically charge the 20% service fee, yet they didn’t want to work for the money. Food didn’t taste great. Wine choices were terrible (eventhough it was a French restaurant) and don’t forget you have to pay $5 an adult at the door just to enjoy the gardens. Not going back.
We have been here many times and we love it. We did need 2 Vegan options this time and I was told that the vegan versions could have been much better. The plastic water cups were also not ideal as they are not biodegradable.
As us older patrons try to introduce the younger generation to finer dining and the beautiful gardens, some more thought will need to be put into appealing to that generation.
An odd mixture of French classyness ambiance and almost cliché curt impatience by the server was not appreciated by the younger guests, and just ignored by the older.
The main draw is the gorgeous garden setting and social distancing means there is less activity overall. As result, the downsides were far outweighed by the positives. We were allowed to switch tables to be next to a bed of gorgeous flowers buzzing with bees and bumblebees in close proximity but yet way too busy doing their thing to stray over to our table.
Overall, great experience but need to do better to appeal to a younger clientele.
