Was a slightly disappointed having been to the Green Park branch which is fab. Rigatoni was too al dente, octopus was very nice, cod fritters were OK, lamb was alright nothing spectacular, plaice was somewhat overdone. Service was fair only because our main waiter seemed like he didn't was t to be there. Other chap (in suit) was better. Not sure I'd go back to this branch tbh.
Nice place for meet for lunch but the summer menu was rather uninspiring and the tomato salad was less than the sum of its parts: just quartered tomato with a pleasant dressing. Good olive oil and coffee.
Brilliant food. Great service
simple but tasty
very friendly service
nice and quiet
excellent pre theatre meal
I went with my wife for a belated birthday meal ahead of a trip to the ballet. We had the pre theatre menu and it was exceptional value. The service was friendly and super efficient without being overbearing in any way. A real pleasure. I'll be back and soon
Great meal with family lovely surroundings smart but very casual....a welcoming place to enjoy great food and wine.... wonderful bread...veg...meat and fish....need one in Edinburgh
£25 meal offer menu was very limited meaning we had to opt for the main menu. Food was okay - bland to be honest. Atmosphere was muted. Disappointed as this was recommended to us.
The theatre menu was good value for money however the options for mains were very limited - three vegetarian and one fish option. A meat option would have been nice to choose from.
Staff were attentive and service was quick, so overall a good experience
Thoroughly enjoyed our drink at the bar before attending the pasta making workshop. Were attentive and kind. The workshop was fantastic, fun and well organised. The glass of prosecco and some aranchini was a lovely surprise and touch. Dinner after in the restaurant was delicious and the staff remembered that we had done the workshop before which was great, wed been looking forward to thi evening since March for my birthday. We enjoyed foccacia bread, spaghetti pomodoro and a meat rigatoni pasta with some delicious sides before sharing tiramisu! Gorgeous. The restaurant was busy and noisy but a good atmosphere. Some of the staff were rushing around at times alongside noise coming from the kitchen did take away from the ambience, we would have preferred a cosy quieter table in the corner next time. Many thanks.
Simple but excellent food with first class ingredients and skill in combining them. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who weren’t pushy. A little too hot at the back of the restaurant, but nothing to stop me returning.
We went for the pre-theatre menu which was fantastic value for such a lovely meal. Will go back.
An excellent restaurant. Good food, good service and not too noisy. Avery enjoyable experience.
The food was very well presented and delicious. The portions were adequate, without being trencherman-friendly, but I am too big anyway! The wines were a very interesting selection and the 500cl carafe is a fine idea for having enough for two without obliterating the rest of the evening. All in all a very satisfactory experience.
Might not recommend Monday - eerily quiet for Covent Garden
We spent our anniversary here. Wonderful experience!
We had an outstanding meal. The only disappointment was my friend's birthday not being recognised. It was mentioned in the special comments when booking. It would've been nice for this to have been noted. Otherwise, an excellent meal and I would highly recommend.
Excellent all round from the welcoming reception when you arrive, the service of excellent food and the friendly and helpful staff - perfect
I was given this as a gift for my birthday last year, booking was easy through OpenTable and they didn't have a problem that I had a voucher code but no voucher as if left it at work when I booked. Lovely restaurant, didn't realize how big it was until we got up to leave. lovely meal, nice attentive staff although there where a couple of customers who where waiting to be seated, so attention must be taken when it comes to people waiting, again lovely meal.
Amazing food and lovely place to while away a few hours. Service was a little patchy but that could have been just because it was a Saturday afternoon. But don't be put off the food is amazing
The hostess was super friendly and so helpful with suggestions. Service is top and the food was great but menu is selective but then it is specialised cuisine.
Really enjoyed the restaurant.
Food as expected, service attentive & relaxed atmosphere.
Very good food, reasonably priced, good service. Noise level is a little high for some guests.
We really liked the food but the service does need to be improved somewhat. We did have to wait a while to order both our drinks and our food which was a little frustrating as the restaurant was not that busy. However saying that, the food was very tasty and we had a lovely time
The set menu was rather dissappoi
Quick pre Opera supper. Great prompt service. Nice food
Great Italian food! Service was excellent along with the food!
We went mid week for lunch and chose the set menu which was really good. It was quiet when we arrived and quickly filled up. Service was excellent as was the food. The house Prosecco went rather too quickly and our only regret was not allowing enough time so we could enjoy a thirst course. I recommend you book.
The food was average to non edible. We sent the risotto back as it was so lemony it tasted soapy. the arancini was ok but we've had better at Piccolino's. The pasta was ok but tbh we cook it with the same flavours for our kids at home. The wine and octopus was lovely but that's about it wrt the food. The service from our waitress was excellent however front of house requires some further training. The 4 stars for service is purely because of our waitress. We really looked forward to dining here and it was disappointing...
Good solid food with an Italian twist served well and efficiently
Service was good but the menu limited, especially the sides, mainly a couple of salads which I didn't really think went with most mains. Starter and main very salty, especially the side of courgette fries. These were, however, removed from the bill when it was noticed we only ate less than a third of them and told them why.
My desert was dry but my wife's was more moist in the middle (chocolate caprese).
Was our 25th anniversary, so booked here expecting something else, but left a little disappointed.
Incredible food, fantastic service, a lovely vibe throughout the restaurant and reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!
Disappointed with food expected more from Angela H
We lunched at Cafe Murano and we were delighted with the quality and delicacy of the food and kind, friendly service. I would recommend visiting this restaurant.
slightly disappointing, food was very good (main thing) but service was average at best. For the money there are better options all around this area.
Great food in an ideal location close to the theatres.
Relaxed atmosphere with friendly and helpful service.
We would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.
Pasta was very poor, unlike previous experiences in Angela Hartnetts restaurants
I had Italian sausage pasta which I thought would be a clear winner. And it was! BUT my wife’s spaghetti pomodoro was THE most delicious tomato pasta sauce EVER.
The food, selection of drinks and variety to the menu was great. However the service was a little inconsistent and on the hottest day of the year, the air conditioning was broken with no alternative solution from the staff, making it for a very uncomfortable dining experience. There wasn't even recognition in the setting being too hot with staff ignoring continuous requests for finding an alternative fan or complimentary ice cream etc. This made the experience of great food, a little disappointing.
As at all the Hartnett restaurants, very good but this time disappointingly the Crab risotto had very little taste of crab so didn’t quite hit the spot this time.
Early evening visit after theatre food lovely service a bit mixed but main issue was lack of air conditioning in hot weather and once restaurant filled up it was rather noisy
