The staff were very welcoming and knowledgable. As it was our first time we had a few questions on the menu which the staff were more than able to answer. The food was fabulous very imaginatively put together lots of lovely flavours,
Amazing experience! Menu rotates daily using seasonal ingredients. It is an incredibly authentic experience!
Absolutely delicious food with gorgeous presentation. Lovely staff -- friendly, helpful, and professional. Intimate atmosphere, perfect for a nice meal with a significant other or family.
Very pleasant surroundings and excellent food. Good value for money.
We had a beautiful meal at Café St Honoré. The café setting and decor would not look out of place in Paris.
The food was excellent, the duck perfectly cooked and the goat cheese croquettes were delicious. The service is unobtrusive but attentive. Not budget but definitely value. Highly recommend this genuine French café.
I was very excited to dine at Cafe St Honore during my visit to Edinburgh. But to be honest, I was very disappointed. My server seemed completely disinterested in serving me (I was dining solo), while he was noticeably more attentive to bigger parties. When I go out to a nice meal, I expect to be treated well - whether I'm alone or with others.
Though the food was good, I can't say I'd recommend this spot to a friend.
Always enjoy our dinner here as good food and reliable. Friends joined us and really like the food and whole experience.
A gem in Edinburgh.
Scottish produce, French cooking - perfect.
Ambience great, good food and wines if a little on the expensive side.
Delicious food and superb service, I would recommend this gorgeous little French place to anyone. It is pricey but really worth it.
Excellent food and great service. We had the two course lunch menu which was fantastic value. The ambiance and look of the place reminded me of an old Parisian restaurant. Will definitely visit again and have not hesitation in recommending.
Well worth the money for a pleasant lunch. Would happily return
Lovely restaurant. Great ambience. Authentic French cooking.
Cafe St Honore has become a favorite dining spot in Edinburgh. the food is fresh, well cooked French food with Scottish twists.
The price fix is a bargain. It has aa Cozy bistro atmosphere. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass that mesh well with the food. Service is appropriately attentive.
The food was delicious and not what I would expect in the beginning. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to visit Edinburgh and wants something different
Delicious food with local ingredients and really nice atmosphere for date night and very lovely staff.
One of the best meals we had in Edinburgh. Lovely setting, and friendly, helpful staff. Both food and wine were very good.
Would recommend this restaurant to friends, overall food very good. If I had one criticsm it would be small, that being it doesn't have a big choice in menu.
I had an excellent meal as always.....beautiful scallops in the shell followed by featherblade of beef....all really well cooked and delicious. Wine choices by the glass is good too....and great service!
This is a lovely authentic french restaurant . The ambience is one of calm and intimacy.
I met friends for lunch here as you can chat away happily for hours , service is very good
but discreet. The food is imaginitive and beautifully presented without being too fussy.
Portions are very generous. Very good wine list.
Lovely French style venue. Welcoming Food very innovative.
I have been here several times and never been disappointed. The restaurant has a lovely ‘feel’ and the staff very good.
The food is fresh well-cooked and very tasty.
We ate later than normal so it was very busy and we had a little wait for our starters, otherwise great!
A delightful meal. Delicious food, beautifully presented. Attentive staff. This little gem is a wee bit off the beaten track but well worth it. French cuisine with a Scottish overtone; I loved the piece of tablet with the coffee.
Once again Cafe St Honore provided an excellent meal. The wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The wine was very good with a reasonable choice. We love the cooking here. The cassoulet was excellent once again as was the steak. We don't live in Edinburgh but visit frequently though wish we could come here more often. We will definitely return.
Excellent atmosphere in the heart of the city with attentive staff and very good food at good value.
This was our first time at Café St Honore, but certainly won't be the last. The food was outstanding and the service was first class.
We love Cafe St Honore as the food is authentic French cooking. Extremely tasty food and great choice. I had vegetarian options (I am not vegetarian) and they were as delicious as meat courses. Cassoulet wad also amazing and I hope they have it next time we come in early January!
Lovely place for a romantic meal. Great ambience, fabulous food and good service
Fantastic Quality food , and for standard of food exceptionally good value.
Pretty setting ,excellent food and friendly staff. Liked it so much that I returned with family a few days later.
The restaurant is a lovely place to meet, eat and talk together. Our group of 8 had a corner of the restaurant to ourselves and were looked after very well by the staff. The menu was varied and the cost for both food and wine has something for everyones taste and pocket. Recommended for dinner though I am sure lunch would be great too. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Great food in a cosy atmosphere...a little bit of Paris in the middle of Edinburgh!
After a way more expensive, Michelin starred but strangely tasteless and disappointing meal the night before, our meal here was a highlight of a brief visit to Edinburgh. Big, delicious flavours - my venison with red cabbage and Stornaway black pudding and my wife’s flatiron steak were both fantastic. Nice atmosphere if predictably quiet on a Thursday in November. We’ll be back.
Being a real foodie I must say this is a find when I was on business in Edinburgh.
I have the business lunch which was outstanding from beginning to the end.
I started with mussels which were great followed by what was described as pork hash which was pork with onions and cabbage with an egg in the top, a good portion and delicious. Desert was a fab crime brûlée. Go there fellow diners if you are in Edinburgh anytime.
It was so reasonably priced too. Well done for a great lunch. This is the best review I have done in ages
Loved our visit to Cafe St Honore, we hadn't been for a while. Our meal was great, I had the pork belly with white beans which was fabulous, and my wife had duck which was equally delicious. They have a good wine selection, we had a Bordeaux at £30 which was great value. We ate on a Saturday evening and the restaurant had a lovely candlelit atmosphere, and had to book a week or so ahead as it was very busy. My only point of feedback would be regarding the drinks service. Our table was quite small and so our wine and water were placed on the window ledge directly behind us, which made it tricky when we were looking for a refill (the waiting staff didn't offer). Apart from that minor point, highly recommended!
This is a great place. I use it often for business dinners and it never, ever, disappoints. The staff are very welcoming and attentive and the food is lovely.
This is a favourite of mine! As always, the food was really good....I had ham hock terrine, blade of beef and then cheese. Wines by the glass are good too - and the service excellent.
My wife and I had a lovely lunch - we had been here once before a few years ago. The welcome, help with food and wine choices and the service were all very warm and helpful. The food was really good and the atmosphere is very Parisienne. It won't be as long till we next visit.
Absolutely brilliant food. Fine Scottish produce impeccably cooked. Service at best inexpert -- had a sense staff were all still in training. And ambience somewhat impaired by inappropriate music. But the food is the main thing, and that was superb.
Superb cooking! Well presented and friendly staff
