Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list features some excellent French wines – a real treat for novices and connoisseurs alike.

We are offering a set 5-course tasting menu on the evening of Sunday 31st December. This menu is priced at £97-50 per head and as with all of our reservations, we are more than happy to cater for dietary requirements provided we are given plenty of advanced warning. We are taking reservations between 6pm-8pm and asking guests to vacate the restaurant by 11pm. This is consistently one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh having dined here for the last 15 years, the food and wine list always nice and highly recommended.

Good welcome. The restaurant felt a little on the cool side ( the radiator beside us was off) but improved slightly as it became busier. We chose from the a la carte menu with 2 courses, two coffees, and a bottle of their less expensive wine and were around £180.00 in total. We definitely enjoyed the meal, though I felt it was a little pricey for the quality. It would not have been difficult to push easily through the £100 a head level just by an extra course or a bottle of water. In fairness, there is a "market menu" around £35.00 a head for 3 courses, but as there was no choice, it was not an option for us. The question always is, " Would I return?" Yes I would as overall the service was warm, food tasty and I would probably tackle the market menu next time.

We had the cafe classics 3 course menu. Super value and the rice pudding with pears was amazing! Lovely atmosphere, it was our first visit but we will definitely be back!

My daughter and I throughly enjoyed our meal. We had 3 courses and every dish was delicious. The menu is not cheap but if the food is good then it’s value for money.
