A delightful meal with fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients. Subtle and unobtrusive safety measures are in place, but the service was not impacted nor was the overall ambience. Each dish was a good size and simply delicious. The menu changes regularly but there was virtually nothing on the menu I wouldn't have eaten, so will definitely come back to sample more.
So glad you're open again.
We always love eating at Café St Honore and our visit on Sunday 2nd August was no exception.
Even with the current precautions it was a great experience. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent food and wine. First time out in 5 months. They coped well with the COVID requirements
It was a wonderful lunch beautifully presented and served. I am so glad to have found this place it’s my top spot for lunch in Edinburgh by far. London standard and would not hesitate to recommend to visiting friends.
Great to be back although in slightly restrained confines.
Well done all for your efforts to make us welcome and well-fed!
One our favourite restaurant, always beautiful. Service was brilliant and food delicious. Atmosphere romantic and relaxed. The new practices regarding current situation did not take anything away from the meal if anything the staff having to put these practices in place whilst still delivering a stellar night is even more impressive .
The restaurant felt really safe and the food was lovely.
Excellent food well laid out post covid so ambience not as French as usual but very well done nonetheless. The KypeMuir duck main course was outstanding and the creme brulee irresistible.
Very atmospheric, French bistro style restaurant, service very good indeed, attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant went the extra mile by allowing us something for pudding that was not on our fixed price menu. Food outstanding. We sampled an excellent Malbec for a moderate price.
Do not visit Edinburgh without visiting Café St. Honoré.
Service was amazing and the food was beautiful will eat there again
Excellent food and service despite covid 19 will defo be going back
Anazing food and polite and professional service, definitly recommend.
Dining out post lockdown was always going to be memorable but it would be impossible not to remember your experience at Cafe St Honoré.
The setting, although unfamiliar due to plastic visors and transparent corona curtains, was unmistakably beautiful.
One thing that’ll never change though is the quality of the food and the level of service.
Cafe St Honoré will always be a favourite no matter the circumstance
Beautiful location, friendly staff. The dishes are presented beautifully, and my starter of roasted fig, blue cheese and candied nuts was probably the best salad I ever had - off of the two course fixed price menu.
The main was tasty but nothing exceptional, we finished with a fine selection of cheeses which were delicious. Portion sizes were generous. All in all I'd say thoroughly worth a visit, good value for money, good local food, good service.
Our first venture out post covid. We need not have worried. The staff were friendly but careful and wore visors. There were protective screens and sanitisers. The atmosphere and food were such that we totally relaxed and forgot all about it , a loveLy evening. Thank you.
Waited a long time to dine here and it didn’t disappoint. COVID-19 precautions were discrete but in place. The cooking was delicious and our wine selection also was super. Thank you!!
Excellent food, efficient and friendly service within the Covid19 guidelines. Great to be back in the restaurant and will be back here soon.
Delicious food as always, lovely service, a perfect relaxing treat.
Our first dining out experience under Covid compliant rules. Great food as always ( we also had Cafe at Home during the lockdown which was fully up to scratch). Felt very safe, but they have maintained a good ambience - screening between tables not too intrusive and it was good to be able to see other customers. Thanks to the team!
A very lovely evening at Cafe St Honore. This was our first meal out after the lockdown and it was a very pleasant introduction to the ‘new normal’ Menus were ours to keep, which was great for one of our guests who took it back to Cheshire with her ! Crockery and glassware were removed rapidly and the only change was to keep your cutlery for first two courses! The Perspex screens between the tables were not too bothersome and the food was as always superb We were not able to determine if the reduction in VAT had been adhered too as the bill didn’t show the rate however we felt it was good value for money Five stars all round !
Staff did so well on their opening night post-lockdown. Food was great. Nice atmosphere. Great place to go for a catch up with a good friend or a date.
Amazing ambiance, with great service! Perfect spot for a lovely date. Great local produce make super tasty dishes.
Really nice food very intimate setting good wine and the service was good. I will definitely go again.
Top drawer eaterie. Been meaning to visit for an age and was certainly not disappointed. Will definitely be back.
Lovely food, excellent quality & well prepared. Nice quiet & romantic atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant. Only negative is that the card machine wasn’t working so my husband had to go and find a local cash point to pay. They did offer to pay for us a taxi home, however we were heading onto somewhere else in the city afterwards so declined the kind offer.
This was my second visit to Cafe St Honore and it didn't come close to the first so I may have ordered the wrong things or hit it on a bad night. The food was ok but not great. The servers were attentive enough but not particularly friendly or helpful. It was just average. The options on the menu were not very attractive to us but I do understand they source locally and are at the mercy of the seasons. The first time I went it was a wonderful meal so I would try it once more.
Food beautifully cooked and well presented. Friendly staff and good service.
A bit of a gem tucked away in the centre of the city. Great service and wonderful food.
Delicious food and able to cater well for one vegetarian and one non dairy meat eater.
Staff were excellent too.
Lovely food with excellent service - would recommend
Reliably good. Lovely flavours, good portions, friendly and attentive staff. Great value for the set lunch.
We were lucky to get a table at short notice and had heard very positive feedback from friends who had been here. We were not disappointed- the food was delicious, service impeccable. Would strongly recommend and will definitely visit again next time we’re in Edinburgh!
Third time here and just as good as ever
Great food and good value especially with the “cafe classics” menu
Daily changing menu makes for fresh and seasonal food
Polite and friendly unobtrusive service
Spectacularly delicious food. Not too noisy for us hard of hearing, unlike most places.
Absolutely fantastic, from the food and drink to the service, couldn’t fault a moment of it.
Outstanding service and top drawer food. Safe to say that Café St Honoré is one of the top restaurants in Edinburgh and that's saying something. Absolute hidden gem!
I had keen to try this restaurant for a while and booked a table for a leisurely Sunday lunch.
I really enjoyed the food, intimate setting and surroundings.
I’d like to try it for dinner.
The wine prices were on the pricey side which was a bit off putting.
Overall - worth seeking out.
We had the Pre theatre menu. The quality of the ingredients and cooking were superb. My only slight criticism would be that the main course (pork belly) could have had a bit more vegetable with it, it really wasn't much more than a forkful. However we loved the cooking and would go back for sure.
Well worth a visit, the food, atmosphere etc is outstanding. It is a great place to celebrate or have a romantic night out.
Busy, but service very good. Coley was only fish main. It’s a cheap fish. £22 pricey for that- should have been cod! But all else good.
