Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list features some excellent French wines – a real treat for novices and connoisseurs alike.

My daughter and I throughly enjoyed our meal.
We had 3 courses and every dish was delicious.
The menu is not cheap but if the food is good then it’s value for money.

Roast was too tough to cut and the rest of the meal was cold. The lovely service person cut the price by half. A shame as the room is charming and the service excellent. However a restaurant provides food, and in this they failed.

This is the best restaurant I've been to in Edinburgh. The food is consistently, eye-rollingly out of this world. The service is perfectly attentive - not overmuch - professional but friendly/funny. The small tables are close but can still be romantic; or was that the wine making me feel that way...? Speaking of which: great wine list, high-dollar to cheap-ish French selections by the glass - all well-chosen. Oh also: get dessert!
