Food was over salted and service was average
We had a nice evening. The weather was perfect for an outdoor meal. The staff was friendly and the service was good. There are other items on the menu I would like to try, so I would go back.
My favourite Italian restaurant in the area
I been here few times and I always felt Wellcome
The staff is always friendly and professional
And the food tasty and with good value
For the quality you get
Really poor service - staff just didn’t know what they were doing! So many things went wrong I don’t even have the energy to list them all. Food was average. Good price because of the evening standard deal. If you want average cheap eats with a good view and don’t mind faulty towers style service then you won’t be disappointed.
Great value with the Evening Standard offer. Nice to be seated outside for river & people watching & a great view of Tower Bridge.
Amazing dinner in proper Italian way
Staring from a nice Wellcome from the staff
Really classic and quality food
We got a generous and rally tasty meal
Thank you for the lovely experience
Not outstanding, but a pleasant meal at a stunning location.
I actually could not believe how rude the staff were. Table wasn't ready when we arrived (fine), so went to the bar but were roundly ignored by all staff for 15 minutes, and treated like a nuisance and an inconvenience when I asked a passing waitress if we might be able to order a drink (inexplicably we were told we were going to have to wait another 10 minutes before this would be possible). Eventually left after 20 minutes of being ignored by various staff, despite asking three times if we could order a drink. Have eaten here a few times over the last 5 years but appears to have gone downhill. In all fairness it was a relatively busy Thursday evening, but I can't recall ever having been treated with as much contempt by restaurant staff as I was here.
Great location on the Thames in a less busy place than the tourist mobs between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Clever design, menu a little limited but satisfactory. Wine list could be improved and with a few not overpriced wines. Would recommend it
one of my favourite italian restaurant in this area
we got a table on the terrace one of the best view in the city everything accomplished of a really tasty food
and friendly service
we take a selection of starters and couple of main corse all of them nice and good quality
the prize are really balance for the area
definitely come back
Staff other than the supervisor / manager are a bit useless.
We ordered a portion of potatoes after placing our food order, the waitress said ‘you have to order with them’ randomly pointing at another staff member.
Orders butter with our bread, never materialised.
Excellent location, beautiful restaurant.
Delicious food, had the special aubergine parmigiana- delicious
For main shared the special - cacio pepe tartufo nero pasta served in the percorino cheese wheel. Stunning dish.
Desserts - good.
Wine list - good & well priced.
We ordered our bottle of wine and waited over 20 mins until we finally asked again. At which time I told them we’d be on our second bottle by now. The supervisor / manager was very professional and immediately served us, took our order, offered us free Aperol aperitif, free starter along with our 2 starters.
We were also given free desserts & free after dinner drinks. So they correct their issues well and we highly appreciated their efforts.
OVERALL- too good to miss, just stay on top of the staff and you’ll have a lovely time.
Stunning wall mural depicting old Italy.
Love the food & area so will be back for sure.
Same old story, not enough service staff to manage volume in the restaurant. We had a lovely meal, however had a hard time getting refills for drinks and no offer of Dessert - which we would have taken them up on had they asked.
After what seemed like an excessively long time waiting for staff to check on us (they made no eye contact as they rushed by several times) we eventually managed to signal for the bill and leave.
Compliments to the kitchen - service team needs to do better!!
Wonderful authentic Italian cuisine.
Great location and wonderful staff. I will be back ASAP .
Thank you Cantina.
I could recommend this place but I think overall it's a bit expensive for what it is.
The service is excellent coming from the guys, but ladies are not that nice and it looks like they are not happy to work where they work (this doesn't include the hostess)
Great venue . Food and service were exceptional
Great location and great food!
Friendly staff specially the lovely Oana.
We will be back!
We really enjoy our lunch on the beautiful terrace nice service and warm Wellcome
The portion was generous as usual and really good value for money
Impressive view definitely a place to go for enjoy a classic Italian food
Will come back
Poor service - almost 20 minute wait for a drinks order. Not offered any further drinks throughout the night.
Tuna carpaccio very good - steak special and tomato basil pasta average.
Expensive for what it was.
So disappointing. I can't actually comment on the food because our table was so awful and waiter unhelpful that we just left. I requested a special table as it was my birthday but it seemed that the restaurant had taken no notice to this request, we had a table right by the door. The restaurant was super loud and we felt crammed in, so I asked if we could sit outside even though it had been raining, it would have been quieter and more intimate for us. But I was told that the terrace was closed and there was no apology for that. We didnt really feel welcome so we left.
Took my partner for his birthday and we really enjoyed it the food was delicious and the service was good the lady who attended us was very friendly and very smiley.
Fabulous night out with friends, amazing service, best value for money I have ever had in London and delicious food. Ambience was fantastic especially with the opera singer who was really great.
Great food and exceptional service
Great food as always. Great offer of food on the set menu too. Always like eating here if in the area. Also great views of the river on these summer nights.
we never left hungry after visit cantina, simple plate from the italian classic genorous portion
and super quality product
thank you to all the staff to make our visit and meal enjoyebale as usual
wait for come back
Overpriced for what it is. My wife found her meal was over cooked and chewy. The staff was friendly but over pushy and interrupted conversations inappropriately to push their wares. It is a shame as I have always thoroughly enjoyed previous visits.
Great dinner. Food was excellent. Very good service too.
Only downside was that food quantity was below average. But it was so good!!
The food was very nice. The main courses are a bit smaller than the menu make them sound, so worth getting a side dish to share with them. The waiters were a bit all over the place; we finished our starters only to have the whole table cleared and a dessert menu thrust in our face! We lost our bread, so had to order some more and generally the waiting staff seemed a bit confused!
In the end it was fine. The food was good, the atmosphere and location are pleasant and the staff were friendly, if a little discombobulated!
Pre-theatre meal at Cantina del Ponte before visiting the Bridge Theatre - 5 minutes' walk away. Very good value on the pre-theatre menu. Starters very good (spicy meatballs and burrata), main courses - chuck beef was good; pan-fried salmon slightly disappointing - the tomato sauce was rather overwhelming and it was difficult to pick up the flavour of the salmon. Atmosphere good, fairly busy even at 5:45 - the only complaint was the awful music! Overall, a good pre-theatre venue and excellent value.
The food is very good, the staff are great, the outside terrace is wonderful, the riverside view (Tower Bridge) is stunning, the deals are terrific value (£16 for two courses). Do you need to know anything else? We will be back.
They were very busy with big groups but made a special effort with us and were very kind
Opera singer not necessary noisy impacted conversation.
Went for special menu. The beef stew main was delicious BUT a starter portion!! My 6 2" husband left hungry!
Charged for expensive red and not the cheaper option I asked for!
Wont be back....
I came here on a Bank holiday Monday with my family to celebrate my Mums birthday. A great location in Butlers Wharf, the restaurant was lovely. Food good if a little pricey ( but given location that’s understandable) and the service was excellent. They were good enough to get my mum a little dessert and candle for us to sing Happy Birthday. Really nice afternoon. Recommend
60th Birthday meal for a friend
never miss the expectation attentive service and amazing food always with quality ingredients
one of the best italian choice in the area
We were 10 minutes late arriving as my friend had a fall on the way there. As we'd booked the set menu we were just late for that but she rushed us so we could still have it. Unfortunately we didn't get a choice of extra vegetables which would have been good with the salmon.
They were very slow bringing the one dessert one of my friends had ordered as their 2nd course.
Overall ok but nothing special
Had a fantastic time at this lovely and lively restaurant. Our kids stayed until 9:30pm and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. Imagine it is great in the summer to sit outside as the view of the bridge was beautiful.
Terrific food, service was efficient and unobtrusive.
Pre theatre meal, nice food served promptly by friendly staff.
Once again visited Cantina del Ponte before going to the Bridge Theatre, which is just 5 minutes' walk away. As usual, the staff were very welcoming and service was efficient - apart from a longish wait for the main course, though this wasn't a problem. The food was very pleasant, and value on the set menu is outstanding.
Always a great experience with this location, amazing food, staff and location.
