Great restaurant and delicious food. Staff are fanatastic. Not cheap and not prohibitively expensive either. Fab location for the Globe and Tate and a bit quieter than the touristy restaurants along the south bank.

This is exacty the food you might eat in a typical tiny bistro in Italy, far removed from the pasta joints on the High Street - totally authentic, right down to its faults. My advice would be: don't go by the website which paints a picture of superior Italian cuisine. Forgive the under-cooked spaghetti, the bits of shell in the vongole, the oversized starters which bloat you up much too early. - lower your sights and you might even like it a lot.

Excellent but with one small hitch, I told them on arrival that I had a booking, they said showed me to a window bar seat facing away from the restaurant and with no view also very uncomfortable for someone alone. I decided to leave and told the waitress I was not happy as I had ore booked and wasn’t happy with the seat, she then said oh my colleague didn’t realise you had booked and showed meto a nice table that had been reserved for me, after that everything was perfect, service food ambience, they just need to pay a little more attention when greeting people.

This may have been the best meal I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The quality of the food and wine was outstanding, and well worth paying a little extra for. Service was quick, friendly and unobtrusive. Highly recommended!

The food was lovely, the atmosphere was perfect - relaxed, but not overly so. The service felt a little impersonal at times, but that’s not to say the staff were inattentive; more that they simply let us get on with things, which can actually be quite nice!

There were a few moments, during our lunch, when we thought we were on some TV show, with hidden cameras. We found ourselves wondering if each blunder or pitfall meant that a presenter was about to leap out, telling us it’d all been a comedy.

We arrived 5 or 10mins ahead of our booking. No greeting. I had to get the chef’s attention, he in turn got a waitress’s attention, and so the comedy of errors started.

The menu looked good, a bit over-priced, and with few veggie options, but we were optimistic. Our first mistake.

Three of four of us opted for a pasta with prawns and clams. Nope, there was only one serving left. This was at 1.30pm. Thankfully, we’re friends, so we all compromised, and chose again. It took no fewer than four times of asking, to get some water for the table.

The food was great. Well, no…..what we ordered sounded great. Then the chef told us the oven had broken. No apology, just a taciturn waitress who offered tiny scraps of information, to help us re-order, again. A veggie pasta magically existed, though it hadn’t 20mins’ ago.

When our meals arrived, there were truly lovely. We felt good about staying; we ordered another bottle of wine.

Then the waitress produced a laptop, sat behind us and started working. A manager – perhaps the owner? – turned up and started stock-taking, around us. This, in a very small space. He shouted his counting of products – to the waitress, to the chef? Who knows. We struggled to maintain conversation, between only four of us.

Two ordered dessert, a tiramisu to share. This was grabbed from a fridge next to us, and plonked on the table, in its sad little plastic tub.

So, will we be back? Hmmm, we were pondering on that, as we paid the bill. Then the chef got on the phone and started arguing with a supplier. Maybe it was the oven company.

No-one asked how our meal had been. So, here’s the honest answer: one of you can cook. None of you, however, should be in a job involving customers.

Capricci is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in London. Their menu is always changing allowing a new experience each time and also following seasonal ingredients. The service is always attentive and they value loyal customers. Also the selection of products that they import from Italy is seriously outstanding and worth a look.

Amazing taste extravaganza! Located back off the main Southwark Rd, this ‘palace of pleasure’ brings a Mediterranean Quality to the dank streets of capitalism. The aroma of fresh, healthy food, full of flavour you can smell as your order arrives with a smile and friendliness that has also greeted you into the establishment. Time is given between courses. The kitchen is at the centrepiece of the restaurant, so you see the masters of wizardry produce their magic. Definitely recommend this restaurant, and I hope you enjoy the experience of it as much as I did/do.
