Caravan King's Cross
What Insiders Are Saying
The Kings Cross branch of Aussie coffee shop and all-day restaurant is perfect for flat whites and laid-back brunches. It’s also good for groups.
Excellent quality of food and drinks options. Very friendly and helpful staff - even though it was quite busy
Really loved the ambience. The dishes were very tasty. This is my fourth time.
Outstanding food and friendly service - but the acoustics are awful - so do they have to play loud music to talk over on Monday lunchtime?!
The food, service and the place was very nice, and the cocktails. The music was a bit to loud to be talking in normal voice. That's my only complaint
We booked a table at 19:45, ordered food - service was slow so our food didn’t come until 20:45, not a major issue for us as we were chatting but then at 21:15 we asked for another bottle of wine to have with the remainder of our mains (we were still eating our main course) and dessert. 5 mins after bringing the bottle of wine the waitress informed us that they wanted the table back at 21:30 so we couldn’t have dessert. They didn’t tell us either at the start nor when we ordered more wine that you only have the table for 90 mins even if you book after 19:30. It was very disappointing as I used to really like this restaurant - probably a victim of it own success, now they are popular no need to have any customer service.
Always love it here. Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere. Not the cheapest, but it's worth it.
Good was outstanding both in choice and quality, with the friendliest staff EVER and a lovely relaxing atmosphere that really made it a extremely pleasurable dining experience.
Pizza was DELICIOUS - such interesting food and great vibe
Excellent, different food in a nice industrial ambience. Not sure why the greeting staff are so miserable but at least the waiting staff are really lovely. Not a place you'd call very fast service, but the food is so special it's OK really. Just don't try and be in a hurry!
Staff were fabulous, as was the food and coffee
Had been previously for dinner and got a few things to share, but when we saw the pizzas go past to another table decided we needed to come back another time. Pizza was amaaaazing. Nice big space, good level of noise, staff were fab.
Very very friendly service THANK you. and tasty pizza
Had lovely pizza -it was very good. On the whole Caravan is great only slight downside it that the space is very noisy but it's a big and busy restaurant and I'm not sure much can be done about it.
The location is nice and the environment quite charming but the food was very bad. We got the rice and salmon bowl. Nothing much. Just plain boiled rice and plain salmon stuck in a cold plate. And this was 14 pounds excluding the service
I think it’s now becoming trendy to serve basic food and call it cool and healthy making zero effort on making it an enjoyable meal. Next time we go for Italian pizza.
Food was fairly average, some items were unbalanced and tasted unnecessarily spicy.
We were very squashed on a long table and the table was very wide so it was hard to talk as the restaurant was also very loud. Felt a little like we were being rushed to leave to get more customers in. Lovely interior but not the most relaxing lunch ever.
Great location, especially if you can sit outside on a sunny day, away from traffic and overlooking the fountains on the square. Well designed industrial interior as well. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu had a range of options and our party choose many small plates and bowls to sample. Overall I felt there was too much going on on some of the plates and I thought many were expensive considering the key ingredients. Good place to eat for meat eaters and non nesters alike.
I think we were unlucky - they gave our table away even though we were there within 15mins and had responded to their text message immediately.
They found a table for us but it was at the back in the corner, not quite the same ambience as the rest of the room.
Food has great variety but just wasn't that tasty on the whole. I'd recommend you try it though, but go in with neutral expectations.
Excellent service and food as usual. Still too noisy for my liking, but each to their own.
Excellent value for money. Good choice of interesting food, friendly service. A most enjoyable meal & experience. We’ll definitely return.
8 of us went for a birthday and were very pleased with the service! The waitress we had was personable and friendly and made us all feel really welcome. The atmosphere at The Caravan is always great as was the food!
Fantastic food with innovative choices and serving sizes. The staff were lovely and helped us navigate the menu. Considering it's such a vast space, and it was a very busy Friday lunchtime, we found that the noise levels were fine and we could maintain a conversation (four of us) despite being on a shared table. We were also surprised what good value it was for the money. Definitely going back!
Staff were amazing and really looked after us. When the pizza we ordered was too spicy for us and they made us another one straight away and took it off the bill.
Great food and service. Some really different dishes and I was happy to be a vegetarian for my visit and try some new things...
Delicious and our server was awesome
Thanks for having us
Really great venue, fabulous food and drinks menu, relaxed yet professional service. Only issue was noise level. I will be back and highly recommend it.
great value for an amazing atmosphere, venue and super good food. a great place to enjoy time with friends
Really delicios food. A consistent standard. Appreciated.
We would have loved to give Caravan a higher mark.
After all, the restaurant was buzzing and the service was good.
But, at the end of the day, it’s supposed to be a restaurant, so the food has to be ‘good’ at the very least.
The cod dumplings weren’t a patch on any similarly priced Chinese restaurant and the dominant taste was chilli.
The croquettes were a poor imitation of what you’d get in a half decent tapas bar. They were pretty tasteless, apart from salt.
The pan fried sea bass was fine, but the ‘salad’ it sat on was so so spicy (chilli again) that it was virtually inedible.
And the nduja pizza had so little topping that it was effectively a plain pizza with a few bits on top.
It may be that the predominantly young crowd either don’t know or don’t care about the food Caravan serves.
The owners should make the dishes less complicated for the amateurs who are in the kitchen.
Or they should hire some decent chefs.
All lovely as always. One complaint however. Booked a table for 4 with only 3 of us able to go. My error however we were squeezed onto a table for 2 with an extra chair at the side. Rather pokey space and not enough table space for dishes for 3 people. Had to shuffle the food between plates just to manage to use the table.
Gorgeous good but needed a nicer table experience.
Food was absolutely wonderful - vegetarian pizza. Service was very good. Though the room's a bit noisy and canteen-like in its ambience for an upmarket restaurant, otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars.
I have been before and enjoyed the experience both the food and the style and ambience
The disappointment this week was just the food - cold eggs and not cooked as requested.
Nice for breakfast. Overpriced and not that inspiring food for dinner!
Our first visit- chosen purely because of the location to Kings Cross station, so no idea what to expect, we arrived late due to traffic, but rang ahead and we were reassured it wasn't a problem, a lovely welcome from everyone, efficient friendly service, great food and delicious wine ( a bit more than we planned to spend on wine but we ordered without looking at the list so entirely our mistake) - really enjoyed our visit thankyou- none of us are local but all said we would visit again and definitely recommend it!
All great as usual.
This is my go to place for meeting up with friends. Food is great, it's not expensive and the service is usually great! Great selection for vegetarians too!!
Ideale plek om je verblijf in Londen te starten met een stevig ontbijtje! Eurostar uit, Caravan in!
A great choice of really innovative dishes. Lots of great ingredients used to make tasty food served in a cool setting with good service. Wine by the glass list isn't great but fine.
Other than when the bar staff forgot our order of Sepresso Martinis, the service and food were fantastic. We managed to make up for the missing cocktails.
Not our type of restaurant. The food was not that good and it was crowded and noisy
Lentils and cod dumpling started are a must.
Avoid the chicken salad for a main not special at all!
