Caravan King's Cross
What Insiders Are Saying
The Kings Cross branch of Aussie coffee shop and all-day restaurant is perfect for flat whites and laid-back brunches. It’s also good for groups.
The food was great but the service was a little off, things arriving at different times with big gaps between individual plates being served.
Such a great a lovely restaurant the food was amazing and in a fun area as well!!
When the food arrived, it was great as usual! The kitchen forgot to take the order, so we waited almost an hour for our food, not the serving staff’s fault, as they were apologetic and rectified things, but only after we’d had to complain about the wait.
I’ve been here a few times now and love the food. The staff are professional and friendly. It would so much better though if the music could be turned down. We couldn’t hear ourselves talk!
Love this place. Buzzy, delicious food and drink. I always leave satisfied and smiling!
Amazing range of high quality food, though rather noisy.
Really slow drinks service, we ordered our wine 3 times before it came and when it did it was the wrong bottle. We weren’t asked to check it and so didn’t realise until we had drunk some of it. The wine we were seved was more expensive than the one we selected and we were still charged the higher price, even though it wasn’t the one we asked for. I was expecting the wine to be at least discounted, if not on the house given we waited so long for it and when it arrived it was wrong! Disappointing from Caravan and not the level of service I have experienced previously - it seems it is going downhill which is a shame. The food also wasn’t as good as it has been on previous visits. A poor show from Caravan Kings Cross, unlikely we’ll be back...
Great food, sharing plates are perfect for a group of friends. Nice place too
Wonderful atmosphere and staff
Great staff. Good vibe. Felt very welcome. Food was gorgeous.
afraid the service wasn't very good. It took ages for them to take drinks orders and then ages for the drinks to arrive. Our food order was taken 1 hour after we had been at the table but the food did appear very quickly and the food is yummy. It was very noisy and busy , and very smoky in the restaurant.
The service was appalling. None of the waiting staff could explain what thier kefir soft drinks were or what ingredients were in the desserts. I wouldn't recommend Caravan -over-priced and awful service
Great Pimms + lemonade!
Had a lovely dinner at Caravan Kings Cross. Fab burrata and croquetas, really tasty. They also have a nice selection of good seasonal cocktails.
We had a lovely time at Caravan - food was delicious and the staff were great and incredibly accommodating - we needed to add another diner to our booking and they shifted seats around without fuss or irritation! Thanks.
It's quite noisy in there but I was maybe more conscious of it as I was there with my parents who are pensioners. But it's a great place - I've been before with friends and will come again.
Caravan at KC was good all round, but as usual noise levels were high and shouting at the table isn't my thing
Food was very good and the ambiance of the restaurant was great. Will be visiting again soon
We had a lovely dinner with a group of friends on a Friday night. Good atmosphere, lovely service and good food (pizzas were really yummy!).
A good option if you are around King’s Cross (and you can book a table which is always a plus!).
Bear in mind that it was really hot that day so I understand that the staff might have been feeling a bit temperamental, however everyone was borderline rude except the front of house when you come in. I broke a jug of water by accident and the waitress who came to clean it up did not even acknowledge me. I would have said sorry if she had even looked at me, but she just looked annoyed. The food was ok but Caravan's reputation did not hold up to my expectations. I had been told very good things, but it felt like a hot was prepared in advance, not even really fresh. Very disappointed. Hopefully this was a one-off. In regards to the noise level, this is due to the water fountains in Granary Square. Sitting outside is very noisy as you have to shout to be heard because of the noise level.
Service was excellent from everyone we encountered. Food delicious and good value. Noise level made it difficult to have a conversation - no need for the music, it was just an extra sound to shout through.
Great food, excellent service and fantastic location. Sitting outside was a joy.
Very good experience but waiting service was awful and had to stalk our waiter for service and even a desert menu - could have bought 2 more bottles of wine with more attentive service!
Buzzing atmosphere. Great place. Lovely food. Perfect lunch.
Great service food is delicious but I do feel they have reduced the portion sizes somewhat as I’ve been several times. Great place to meet friends - a tad noisy though
Great meal at Caravan, food is fantastic (but they’d run out of a few things including chips!)
Quite loud, but we managed to have a conversation. Service excellent.
Wasn’t overall amazed by the experience if I’m honest. Half the items on the menu had run out and the only food left was all incredibly spicy. Some of the staff have a serious attitude problem. It took around 20 mins for our drinks to arrive. When we questioned this we had no apology from the waiter. Wouldn’t rush back, which is a shame.
The staff were all so attentive going above and beyond to keep us updated about our table. They brought out the cake we had made which was so kind and were really quick to offer more drinks. Was a really lovely celebratory meal and we felt extremely well looked after. The food was also delicious
Special thanks to Chef Charlie for his outstanding food, I had to come to the kitchen to thank him. Presentation, Taste, Texture - all 5*!
I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to anybody who will listen.
Food great, but service was absolutely excellent.
Great attentiveness, fantastic recommendations and service with a smile moved the evening from being a good one to a great one. It makes a real difference. Shout out to Elena who led by example.
The vegan breakfast with avocado spread was very tastefull.
Caravan King's Cross is a lovely location with friendly staff.
When we come back to London, we will definitely come back here!
We booked a table, we then were told there was no table available and to get a drink, we were then told we couldn't have a drink until we had a table and waited half an hour. When we did order, one item that was ordered did not arrive and we were charged for it along with another item we had not ordered.
Love the food, good value, fun place to meet and eat:)
Brilliant dinner with great food. Drinks took a while but otherwise lovely.
Food was great, as usual - the spiced cauliflower was perfect - but service was lacklustre. We ordered drinks at the bar, ordered them again when we sat, & then asked for them AGAIN when we started to receive our food, as we still hadn't had them & this was 30 minutes later. They were put in front of us with a small 'Apologies' but that was it. We waited to have our plates cleared for abut 20 minutes, so when we were asked if we wanted anything else, we said no - worried that it would take so long! Bit of a shame as we would have had more drinks, desserts & coffees if service had allowed it.
Great atmosphere but the food was disappointing and overpriced. When the waiting staff were available they were friendly and knowledgable but they seemed to be understaffed.
Yes a little noisy but don’t mind that on a Friday night. I think the staff seemed a little overwhelmed, we didn’t sit at our booked table for 20mins, but the hostess was very polite and showed us to the bar where we could order a drink and wait for our table. So all round a good experience, plus the food was amazing.
Great night with friends relaxed atmosphere
Usually love Caravan, but this time, though I booked ahead, we struggled to be sat at a good table - and watched plenty of other walk ins sit on bigger tables with less people. We were sat on a 2 person table with 2 chairs and a small stool, then when we saw a 4 person table open up we were told it was ‘reserved for 6 people’. We sat back down, only to watch a couple and their pram who were walk ins after us sit there. Was a bit annoying because I went through the trouble of booking, but it didn’t help me at all on the day, as I was treated like we were a hassle when asked to sit at a proper table with space for 3 plates.
We then waited just under an hour to receive our drink order (45 mins went by before it was even taken) - staff seemed preoccupied and annoyed when asked something (especially the woman running the floor outside).
Slight shame as we were celebrating, but we came, ate and left when we could.
Too noisy to talk
