I would suggest previewing the menu and wine list ahead of time. Order less food than you think. You can always order more. Everyone loved the garlic bread! In addition, if you have several wine drinkers, order bottles for the table. The waiter took drink orders at the start, and because we were such a large party (14) , I didn't pay attention and ended up paying for glasses of wine at the start. Other than that it was fabulous!

Food was good. Someone who had been smoking was roaming the main dining room leaving a casino ambiance. Was nice to try but my dining dollars won’t return with all the great places in DC.

Order less than you think you need, you'll thank me later. It's a big space, not intimate at all. Which is fun, unless you're looking for quiet. Servers all seem to know what they are doing and are quick to serve.

We had a 445 reservation in DC. We arrived at 3:45 and told them we’d sit at the bar to have a drink before our meal. We sat for 45 mins with no drinks and the place was not crowded. When we finally got seated things were a little better but at the end we ordered coffee/martinis and waited over 20 mins until we had to cancel to leave. I’m so disappointed with the service because the food was fabulous. If there was a lack of staff I would understand but waiters were standing around with nothing to do. I’m very disillusioned and will think twice before I go again

                                                                                                                                                            Authentic Italian at its best! 👌 Even the salad 🥗 was amazing. 😋 Have a big family? This place is perfect. Portions would make even the hungriest full! Our first time there but definitely not the last. As a bonus.... there's a parking garage beside it with an elevator to the restaurant. And your just a few blocks from Capitol One Arena if you're going to a show or game! This place is the real deal! 😎

                                                                                                                                                            Disastrous experience for my wife and daughter for whom I made a special reservation after a good first visit a couple of months ago. 50 minutes for their order to arrive. Meatballs were decent, but Salmon was overcooked and looking like reheated from someone else. My wife complained and was told that they were very busy with a 60-people group. The restaurant was not full or overly busy, and the waiter was rude. Probably understaffing from management, plus poor training for the service personnel. Never to go back when we are in DC.

They told us the ran out of lasagna an shrimps an chicken wings. So we decided to look in the menu an came up with the chicken Parm an my hubby got pasta it taste good but the Noodles was undercooked an they told us because they about to close the kitchen he can’t receive nothing else . So a few people heard them tell us that an i told the manager man how an we waited over 45 mins for our meal to come he gave us free drinks an i ask my husband do he want some of my food he declined an the guy some how came out with his food perfect an gave it to us for free i think he handled the situation well an we still have a lot of food we would be eating today thanks again that made my mothers day . But I’ll never come back but that onion bread the truth .

The food is as great as ever: we had the Caesar salad to start and it was perfectly dressed, the penne a la vodka was perfection, and you can’t go wrong with chicken parm! The staff were friendly and helpful - can’t wait to return the next time we’re in DC!

                                                                                                                                                            Went to Carmines for our elopement dinner. There were 6 of us. We ordered the garlic bread for an app. Chicken cutlets, and angel hair with garlic and oilve oil, porterhouse steak and meatballs. Everything was cooked to perfection. The steak was the best steak any of us have ever had! Needless to say we have so much left over food. It was amazing and we will be back again!

The lunch menu offers a nice variety dishes: sandwiches and shareable pasta dishes and a nice split of vegetarian options. My one wish is that there were more pasta options available for one. The menu allows for a half order, but I wasn't clear on how much or how little that option would be. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and easily answered all of our questions. She was high energy (in a mostly good way). If you are looking for a nice casual place to socialize with friends you haven't seen in a long time, this is a good place to go. The decor and the Dean Martin/Frank Sinatra music contribute to the old-school NYC italian restaurant vibe of this place. Be forewarned that, between the music and high ceilings, the noise level is a little high. So if you are with people who have hearing difficulties, the ability to carry on a conversation is impacted a bit by the noise level. That said, I love it!
