The booking process was painless and the staff on site very helpful when arranging the booking. Our table was ready on arrival and we were quickly seated and drinks orders taken, the food was delivered efficiently and the quality was superb. Staff were attentive and no glass was empty for long. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at CAU.
The steak was outstanding, however i feel a little expensive for a bistro type restaurant onice you have purchased vegetables etc. I was also not happyet that a 10%service charge was added automatically , we were only a part of 3. I didn't notice till the last minure and nearly left another tip. Although optional ..very sneaky
Lovely food in a lovely location, staff were friendly and prompt with food
Don’t bother with this one, little to no atmosphere, could go on but don’t want to put in the effort just like most of the staff there. We got the distinct impression that they really didn’t want to be there and that has rubbed off on us.
Excellent food and service from very friendly staff.
Helpful & friendly staff. Great menu with equally great tasting food. The taco platter starter was amazing along with the rest of the food. The cornflake sundae is a must have.
We came for father's day. Firstly we were seated under the air con unit. This kept dripping on us, we were swiftly moved to the next table.
They had ran out of a few starter options. No attempt at an apology just told us they had been busy and shrugged so this kind of annoyed us.
Mains were a good size, although daughter was disappointed that the brisket burger wasn't topped with brisket as the menu led her to believe, again staff weren't bothered.
For the prices on the menu would have been nice if the service level had matched. We heard other tables discussing how they thought their wine should have been poured for them.
The food was overall good, service level let us down we feel.
The brownie is good though!
We arrived half an hour before our booking but were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was busy. Service throughout was very good. Meal was delicious! Strongly recommend.
Good food, well-presented, in an attractive space (we booked to eat outside but the weather in Salford isn't necessarily always clement...) by friendly, competent staff. What's not to like? And with the Media City garden maturing now into a pleasant little park, there was even a view and people to watch.
The steaks were very good, as one might expect from an Argentine restaurant. They're not cheap (but then, good meat shouldn't be cheap), and I could quibble slightly with a 'rare' steak that was cooked a little past that point - it's rare to find a proper rare steak in the UK, and the cook is probably cautious of the clientele - but were nonetheless as tender, lean and tasty as they should be.
It is unusual to be able to offset the cost of the food with the offers available on the wine and aperitifs - it's usually the other way round - but that is what happened at CAU, and both were very good.
We were on our way to the theatre, and were slightly concerned that we would have to rush our meal. But the service was prompt and efficient (without being overbearing), leaving us plenty of time to enjoy our food and relax into our drinks.
All of which made the ridiculously uncomfortable seating of the Lowry Theatre just about bearable!
Excellent food and wine and a lovely helpful waitress. We day outside in the sun which added to the experience!
The service was very very slow and some of meals where cold and others not very hot. The Sunday lunch wan not up to its usual standard - not much meat and cold veg. The child meal with chicken and wraps was not very nice, child couldn't eat it, the wraps have a very strange taste. We were in a rust to get to the football so no time to discuss with the manager as we had to run to get there in time in the rain. The staff that served us where nice and polite as usual just didn't seam to be enough of them and no one about to give a second drinks order to. I appreciate there was 11 of us but normally it's not a problem.
This is the first time I have dined here, we were a mixed group fro mage 2 to 86 and there was plenty of food options to choose for all of us
comfortable terrace, food great and service very friendly would definitely go again
The steak was very good the starter was very average and the 10% build in service charge I really don't agree with! I know its discretionary just makes you feel a bit awkward.
Great food, lovely staff. Would have preferred if they asked how you like your meat cooked. Overall lovely dining experience.
Internet booking very efficient, reception and seating very good.we were asked if we wanted water but weren’t told there was a charge.my wife’s burger was salty and mine was over cooked with a dryish bun.the glass of wine we thought was overpriced.restaurant clean, service good but we were not told that there was a service charge included in the bill.
Was recommended by family members to try out Cau.The occasion was to see The Rolling Stones at Old Trafford. The food was outstanding and service second to none, staff very friendly, highly recommend.
Loved the setting. We had a table book on the terrace overlooking Brinkley place. All agreed it was five star. Wait or was excellent and advised re menu. Would go agsin
3rd wedding anniversary
Steak fabulous. As was service. Side salad abysmal - just a rip off. Wine very nice and liked the tasting of a couple of Malbecs. Will be back.
Excellent food and great service. Would definitely go again.
Come on Cau you need to up your game especially with all the competition in Mediacity. The quality of tour steaks are nowhere near as good as they were when you first opened. Otherwise great restaurant, nice atmosphere especially in the evening and great staff.
We were a little disappointed with the food. Service was good and attentive but for the price the food was a let down. The steak wasn't very well cooked, there was a lot of fat and the chimichurri was just oil. The child's burger went down well though. I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.
Ate here with the 50% off food voucher in April. 3 course meal with my husband, food & service was great. We will definatley be returning.
Tasty food, smallish portions, quite expensive. The staff were really friendly and attentive. We went as a family before going to see a show at the Lowry. I did enjoy the meal as did the other 5.
Best anniversary dinner had such an amazing surprise of a complimentary bottle of prosecco and dessert. Made it a magical night so thanks x
Outstanding steak and wine in a lovely atmosphere.
Nice wee please in a lively area... The Mrs’ Birthday was explained and the restaurant came up with a nice couple of touches... free prosecco top-ups, Cocktail and Nice desert...
Thanks to the staff...
Second time at Cau. Early afternoon. Lunchtime menu was really nice apart from the pasta, which was very ordinary. Wine nice service good, but there were very few people there by the time we ate.
Great food, lovely waitress. Quite loud as sat next to a large party but overall a lovely meal.
The service was absolutely excellent from the minute we walked in, no wait on drinks, never finishing before being asked for another.
Food was served quickly, but not too quickly between meals, everything piping hot and just beautiful.
All staff were extra but not overly friendly and most helpful - a credit to all.
Great service with amazing food! Can’t wait to go back
Pre-marathon meal. Much better than other standard options of chain restaurants
Always a great steak - and the staff are particularly good, especially Joseph who pays great attention to our young twins and always makes us welcome. We have a choice of dining at Media City, but we choose CAU primarily because of Joseph’s great service. Without any offer, it can be a bit pricey but when there are discounts to be had, it’s a lovely treat for everyone!
Really great food, drinks was nice and the waiters friendly good service. Would definitely recommend
Nice modern restaurant in Media City Salford.
Good menu and friendly helpful staff
The food arrived promptly was well cooked and tasty
Good meal booked through an email offering 25% off when came to pay staff said not valid today though the email said to Easter Monday . Felt cheated by that and as a resident on Media City was a bit disgusted.
If you do vary things then great clarity is needed in your ads.
We had a very relaxed and enjoyable night at CAU Media City,we were greeted by a nice member of staff who has very professional and polite,no wait whatsoever for our table,we both ordered steaks, mine was cooked to perfection but my partner thought hers was slightly undercooked but nevertheless the whole experience was worth it and we certainly intend to go back again,so yes I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent steak, melt in the mouth, lovely thanks!
Went for Sunday roast. Meat was lovely. Would have been better with a green veg too rather than potatoes and half a carrot. Drinks were overpriced. Staff friendly. Everytime the door opened a cold blast of air came into the restaurant.
