Our menu embraces Buenos Aires cuisine, a melting pot of comfort food inspired by Italy and Spain alongside the jewel in Argentina's crown, it's beef. Mouthwatering steaks, burgers and steak sandwiches are joined by a tempting selection of more-ish favorites, each with a distinctive Buenos Aires twist. Drop in for some sharing plates and a beer over lunch or savour one of our speciality cuts and a bottle of Malbec over dinner...just don't forget to leave room for a corn flake ice cream sundae.
Trust us on that one.

Steak was cold
As always, a great night out. Got a great vibe and staff are brilliant. Food is exceptional too!
What an amazing place in a superb location - perfect to spend put wedding anniversary. Our table was perfect with a view over the docks. The staff were the nicest I have met in a long time. Have already recommend it to friends and cant wait to return again. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Amazing steaks. Service was great - waiter was very friendly and accommodating.
1) Service were poor. A new employee often seen there because it seem employees don’t last much. As a consequense, the people who assist are not ready for the job.
2) When making the reservation, I asked for a front table to have the views. They provided one table in the back with no views. Also loud music and loud resto.
3) Food: medallions were “horrible” and served cold. No tasteful at all. Sweet potatos seems old. Wine Doña Paula not good. Empanadas ok.
4) they included 12,5% tip in the bill. It is not worthed.
I was one of the first guests to go to CAU in ST Katherine docks. First time I went at CAU was a week after they opened. I live closed by and I love Argentinean food. At first, it was a great option. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore. Last 5 or 6 times I went there, I came out disappointed. Bad quality of meat; inexperienced personnel, serving cold food, and very loud. All and all, quite disappointed. Not sure I am going back.
I was expected so much more from Cau, but our experience wasn't great. The service was very slow and we had to repeatedly ask for items which were forgotten. The staff looked overrun and poorly managed. Other customers were upset with delays for their food and payment.
The restaurant itself is nice and in a good location. It's clean and an enjoyable place to eat. However the food wasn't especially good. I had a steak sandwich which was overly fatty and my partner had a melon salad which was hard and served without its sauce.
The staff were incredibly nice despite my date and I being significantly late for our reservation. They held the kitchen a tad later for us, and were overall an incredible service. I would definitely recommend.
Lovely staff, very attentive (Jose was our server), food was delicious, amazing value, quickly cooked, great ambiance and even better view as we sat outside. Would certainly come back.
Little suggestions for consideration, really fix the little two seater table outside near the entrance, it wobbles like crazy and its supported by folding menus....a bit tricky when cutting steak as even more table wobbling! Consider putting some planters between the outside tables and path and the public walk way. This way passing children will not run past using the restaurant tables so very close !
Very expensive for what you get. Lovely setting. Very noisy
Extremely good. Thoroughly recommend it. Really nice location, staff and ambiance.
Loved the food and the service couldn’t fault it my only quibble the lighting was very bright and harsh and there wasn’t too much ambience my fault as it looked a bit different on the website but my sister had a lovely time for her 60th so all good thank you
The steak that my other sister and I had was gorgeous and the chunky chips are CHUNKY yum!
Was slightly disappointed as 2 dinners out of 7 were not good, with one being sent back as it was inedible. No steaks or burgers were cooked as we asked in the group which was not good enough for a "meat" restaurant. Maybe the chef was having an off day!
Location and venue were fab though.
Lovely venue, great steaks, very busy. And saying too much is annoying
Outstanding location, quality of food and overall experience!
Father’s day, the restaurant wasn’t it even that busy yet took them almost an hour to deliver the food and got the order wrong so further wait for my daughter, pretty price too
We had a great dinner, the food was really good and came in time, less waiting. Really friendly staff and a good selection of wines and food.
Food was good value for money, we had the roast beef, it was really nice! Although the service was slow, we waited 10 minutes for our drinks and waited longer for a waiter to finally come and take our order, and it wasn't busy. Apart from that, it was a pleasant experience.
Stop reading reviews and go for a meal at CAU, the only thing you'll regret is not doing it before.
Nice view but our waiter was not helpful and the service was not great. The food was average and overpriced food.
Dinner here was amazing. My partners steak came out over cooked, on mentioning this the manager changed it for a bigger steak that was cooked perfectly.
When the staff found out it was my partners birthday they bought us a complimentary piece of cake to share and 2 glasses of prosecco.
The staff went above and beyond to make this an enjoyable experience.
The location was really nice, overlooking the quiet dock away from the busy streets of London.
I will happily visit again.
Pleasant late lunch overlooking the docks on a Wednesday afternoon- relaxing and chilled despite being next to a crazy tourist attraction
I needed a restaurant near EC3 for my team on the Sunday evening before our annual conference. Open Table enabled me to find and book for nine people in less than five minutes. The food, drink, service and atmosphere set the tone perfectly for the evening and there is no doubt many of us will return during future visits to London. Special thanks to our waiter, Alex, who recommended menu items and found the right wines to accompany them. His didn't stop running the entire evening!
Had reservation which they steered us promptly. Unfortunately, it took quite awhile for our server to take drink orders and we had to ask her for water which took a while to get as well. Food was good but took some time for it to arrive. My wife ordered the hamburger with extra cheese but it was left off. Since it took some time for it to arrive, she didn’t send it back and we were charged for the extra cheese.
Overall, the food was good and it is in a great location.
Arrived some time after other guests did and took some time to be served. We asked for water for the table a total of 4 times. It finally arrived after this.
The food arrived, I ordered a burger, fries and squid. The burger was okay for the price but the chips were cold, by this point we had waited so long that the group wanted to eat anyway. The squid was oily and flavourless.
Personally will not be visiting again for food however the view and location are great.
Great Argentinian steak; must try the Steak Sandwich! Great for a dinner at sunset during summer - sit by the window area - they open the doors and there's a great view of St Katherine's dock.
Lovely Sunday roast with friends. Staff could have been more attentative wasn’t asked if we wanted more drinks etc.
We headed there as my husband woke up with a desire for American style steak and egg breakfast.
I found a review on Time Out and out of several good candidates for what we wanted I found Cau. It looked perfect for our sunny Sunday bike ride and breakfast. Sadly we were too late for breakfast but we had a lovely waterside brunch, tasty and in a nice atmosphere. It was our date day so we didn’t mind forking our the bill and the waiting staff were really nice. We haven’t tried it but the steak menu looks amazing btw!
Great place to meet friends for lunch. On this occasion 4 trailing spouses who'd spent a few years together in South America met up for a taste of Argentinian beef . Good to share memories over great food and attentive staff.
Lovely food but service was not good at all. Constantly had to try and catch the eye of the waiters to ask for more drinks etc. even though they were not that busy as out booking was for 6pm. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are short for time but if you are in no rush the food is good although my friends was a bit cold.
Was over priced and the portion sizes were small . The location is great and so was the service but it wasn’t worth the money
A good night, cocktails and steak good, however disappointing that our special table request was overlooked and the 12.5% inclusive service charge stung at £26!! Far too much. Should be optional.
Went for my friends 50th birthday everything from start to finish was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.
Enjoyed a decent lunch time meal with work colleagues.
For some reason it took around 20 minutes until a waiter took our drink order. Ten minutes later we discovered that the restaurant was out of certain beers and steak which was disappointing.
The food we did have was nice but nothing special and the drink was fine.
Would still go back as the lunch time set menu is good value for money.
Great place to eat and be when the weather is nice. It has a lovely continental feel
We went there with my wife to meet a friend. Great meat menu, friendly service but a bit slow to bring the drinks we had ordered. The view to the dock does give a plus to the dinner ambience;
Food great, service was a bit slow. One meal was cold. Had to keep asking for things to be done such as clear the table, order main, drinks etc. Great location and views.
Lovely restaurant. The food was superb. The view from our table looking out over the docks added to our night. The staff were all very friendly and made the experience all the better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely night.
Good food and friendly service. Enjoyable experience and nice location overlooking the marina
Overall very good but unfortunately too many waiters were attending to our table, meaning our order was taken strangely and we ended up not getting to order our mains until our starters had been taken away. I much prefer having one waiter who knows how and what you have ordered so there is no complication. Our starters were disrupted with having to look at the menu again as the waiters weren’t communicating with each other, which was a bit irritating. Otherwise the food was excellent.
The staff were friendly and efficient so that made our evening a positive experience.
