Me and my boyfriend were in Amsterdam and as it was my birthday decided to go for a nice meal. The service was very good and attentive, the food was delicious and filled us both up! They also noticed it was my birthday and presented me with a cheese cake which was also delicious!
Food was lovely although I asked for medium-rare and was served medium. The restaurant also does not have air con causing it to be unbearably hot during the summer.

A great meal at Cau Amsterdam. The steak was as good as ever but the chips were AMAZING! Very happy. Sad the chain has closed in the UK.
Very nice people and great service. Due to the paranoia about this stupid virus, their seating was limited, so I can't tell you about the noise level normally. When we were there, it was pretty quiet and every table they were allowed to use was filled. They cooked my tenderloin perfectly (medium rare), but it was lacking some flavor...some salt and pepper when cooking it would have helped. Had a really good Malbec there. Definitely recommend this place

Having eaten in a previous Cau restaurant in Liverpool we where looking forward to trying Cau Amsterdam. The menu was the same as previous, serving fantastic steak. I chose the 220g Filet, I did ask for it well done and it came out of the kitchen blue, but judging from what happened we had been given another tables steaks ( luckily I didn’t cut into it). Price wise, it was reasonable compared to other European city’s I have dined in. It was more in line to what you would expect to pay in the UK (I paid £22 for my steak). Would recommend and return.

Booked for 8pm and shown straight to our table on the 3rd floor, the only bathrooms are on the 1st floor if you plan on having a few drinks be prepared for a session on the stair master. Starters took an hour to arrive we were given a complimentary bottle of water ?
The thing that saved the meal was the meat, cooked to perfection (10oz fillet medium rare) I have looked at some of the reviews from our friends in the states but ours could not have been better. Great sides apart from the mac cheese with truffle, no cheese and no truffle would not recommend.
Reasonably priced Malbec (€29.00) and seeing as they were slammed the service was pretty good.

We went there whilst visiting Amsterdam on holiday . This is such a lovely place. The food was amazing and our waitress was so friendly and helpful . I would definitely recommend CAU to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
It’s my fifth time in this restaurant. I’ve been there once in a year and I can actually see how it became worse and worse every year.
The service is super slow, they don’t care about anything. They see you as a bill. Even no place to put your coat.
The meat was not tasty and I could see that the person who prepared it was not professional. Same for other dishes .
