We hadn’t been to Cecconi’s for a couple of years. It was very busy and a good atmosphere. We were given a table by the window for two people, nothing wrong with that, but they didn’t have table cloths on, giving it a cafe theme. The menu had changed since previous, obviously, but we noticed the yummy dishes of old not there, I suppose people now demand a change to vegan, etc.
Also, our waitress was very sullen, efficient but lacking any contact and interaction.
good food but not for a date. can be noisy. food portions great
Cecconi's is a London jewel. Nestled in the heart of Mayfair across from the back entrance to the RA, it serves the highest quality breakfasts and lunches available in town. Its dinner are also good but insanely busy and loud. Not for the faint hearted. And what I also love is that you can walk in and perch at the bar for a great meal as well for a good price served by very competent staff. A top choice for London any time.
The amazing team went above and beyond when they learned of a food allergy with one of our party. Absolutely recommend Cecconi’s!
Dramatically different from when I was last here 15 years ago - a very buzzy atmosphere with many tables and a bar - service was excellent - assured and friendly - food also excellent - upmarket Italian - not cheqp but worth it - the experience was only marred by the three 'gentlemen' at the next table whose loud conversation throughout lunch was peppered by expletives presumably due to a poor education and limited vocabulary
This is my favourite Italian restaurant and great salads too. Perfect for all foodies, veggies and even vegan.
Wonderful. Service was excellent. Choice of vegan specialties. Desert was also wonderful
Service was attentive and not overbearing
Food 1st class and good choice
Great food. Our waitress was particularly charming and efficient. Made our dining experience very enjoyable.
I hadn't visited Cecconis for a few years where the food was excellent and the service fastidious. The food was superb again, but for the price, could have been slightly better. My Calamari Fritti was well cooked and seasoned, but not delicate like it should be. The Zuccini Fritti were slightly too thin which made the taste of the Zuccini too faint to offset the batter and oil. My crab raviol, however, did live up to expectations. The wine list is, as one would expect, wweghted towards Italian but the selection was very good and the prices fair.
The ambience is always wonderful with an ecclectic mix of people and an appropriate murmur of other people talking. The ambient light was a little too dark and even had younger people reaching for the torches on their phones to be able to read the menu. Even for a romantic dinner, it would have been hard to see your partner's eyes and appreciate them. Just a tas more brightness would have been perfect.
The service on this occasionan, however, was really not to standard and I was vexing between 2 adn 3 stars. They just seemed, in our area, one waiter short and our wine glasses sometimes remained emoty for quite some time; which wouldn't be a problem except that our wine bottles were removed from the table so we had to wait to be served. The time to take orders seemed quite extended as well.. and there vacant tables around us as well.. But even on entry and leaving, there seemed a deference to the patrons and leaving/picking up coats from the hosts seemed to take longer than it shoudl.
It is still a great restaurant, however, it isn't cheap or even moderatly priced by any means and I will go back again, but in as eager anticipation as this visit. It could have just been an off night
This restaurant is consistently excellent. I’ve been using it for many years and never had a bad experience. The food (in particular the crab ravioli) on Thursday was exceptional.
Food was delicious, very fresh and tasty. Restaurant was very well decorated and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. The only criticism is that the service was a bit slow. However, it wasn’t enough to put me off going back, I’d just allow extra time.
Brilliant as always. Although it does tend to get too noisy at times and sometimes the lighting is not sufficient. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
La nourriture était très moyenne
It’s a lovely place.
They serve excellent quality food.
Unluckily it is noisy, they might have music :-)
Fabulous host in Sabrina, who couldn't do enough for us on New Year's Day. That said, everyone was wonderful. I had a juicy beef fillet and my wife had salmon, medium cooked - perfectly. But above all we're going back just for the Bellinis, you can take it from me, the best in London. All this, moderate prices, white table cloths, superb decor and views of the world going by. Never a dull moment here. Good luck getting in.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere with good service
Always consistent and does not disappoint.
Ottimo cibo e sempre bell’ambiente
No Christmas decoration at all ? Very dark and not so warm in the restaurant
Always enjoy eating here. Has just the right ambience, service very good. Good place to meet friends as you can have a conversation and hear each other. Love the veal milanaise - although I can never quite finish the generous portion. Desserts delicious.
We waited more than 30 minutes even though we had a reservation! But the waiters have been kind with us at the table and the service has been professional and kind.
Always impressed with this restaurant
The food was cold and the waiter took it. I thought they would give me a new one, but what came back was my own pasta reheated (I think in the microwave) with a sauce that seems like mixed with water. Not even close to the first presentation. Trying not to complain, I ate the pasta but when telling the waiter after, he was extremely rude. We didn’t have mood to ask desert or anything else.
Fabulous food, the crab ravioli was phenomenal. Very friendly staff and a very lively atmosphere.
Not as good as I expected, and it's really noise in the party
We asked for breakfast when the breakfast menu had closed as we were traveling from the Middle East and in London only one day. They were so kind as to accommodate- luxury service at its best and always top of our list! Thank you!
Fab u lous
Eggs Benedict with hard centres. Unfriendly staff at entrance. Style over substance.
Always when I am in London I visit “my” favorite restaurant Cecconi’s. Never disappointed, always very satisfied.
Great food, very quick and observant service and a fantastic experience!
Starter: Beef Carpaccio. It was old and smothered in oil. Had patches of brown.
Main: Lobster Linguine. Lobster was overcooked. Too much oil in pasta.
Side: Zucchini Frites. over salted. We didn't finish them.
Starter came too quickly. Main took too long.
Waiter never asked whether our food was good / ok. Otherwise, we would have mentioned the above.
Excellent as always . Great breakfast and great maitre de
Pleasant atmosphere, good breakfast and decent service, what more could you ask.
Excellent service and good food. Don't go there if you want a business meeting or an intimate dinner - it was very noisy
Cecconi’s is a lovely restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming.
Lovely Italian food. Buzzy Environment. Professional service. No skimping.
Staff fab as always. Good fab too
Fabulous as always - just such a classy place! A window seat is fabulous to people watch.
Fantastic atmosphere, staff are friendly and professional. Service good and at a nice pace, cloakroom service is a great feature and the WiFi too.
Happy to make dishes off menu and of great freshness and quality.
Is always a must on our trips to London...
