I very rarely write reviews but I had to show my appreciation to this superb chef and his wonderful staff. We were a party of five and everyone I was with thought it was THE BEST sushi dinner we ever had. Every bite was special, from the presentation to the taste. We had two bottles of delicious sake with our meals and they were great also. Chef made us feel very comfortable. For such a high end place it did not feel stuffy at all. We eat a lot of sushi back home in NY, all the popular and well known places, but this is at a level that we have not found in NY. If you can make it here, you will leave with a new appreciation of the art of sushi. Thank you chef for this amazing experience. MoreOpenTable Diner -
What is Shato Hanten? Shato Hanten was opened in Mita, Tokyo in 1965 by Chinese cuisine researcher Hakusho Machi who believed that Chinese culture should be brought to Japan through its food. At the time, the food served was traditional Machi family home cooking, the type served to guests and close friends. This generous hospitality and homely flavours, passed down through the generations, are the “Machi flavour”. Only vegetable oil is used in the cooking. The intense flavours of the authentic ingredients and spices have evolved continuously to provide culinary delights to today’s customers. Shato Hanten is an authentic Chinese restaurant which began thanks to Hakusho Machi’s desire to bring authentic Chinese cuisine to more and more Japanese people. It is now 46 years since Shato Hanten opened in Mita. The sofas on the terrace, the wood framed chairs and the Setoyaki ceramic decorative poles reminiscent of a bamboo forest, create a modern but calm and relaxing space.More
It was an amazing evening. The restaurant is downstairs and you sit around the kitchen, like a chefs table. The owner speaks english and helps you with everything. Also the menue is in english. The food is amazing. There are two menues to choose for 5.000 or 7.000 Yen which includes Sashimi, Wagyu and rice and several other dishes. We will come back, when we in Tokyo, 100% percent!!! MoreOpenTable Diner -
They prepared the nice table for us. We could have a good dinner and the view from the window. I almost always order a prime beaf steak because it has the good flavor and taste. Unfortunately on this time, we ordered the prime beaf steak, but it was a bit of luck of juicy and just hard as compared with it I had at the previous time. I think it is better to make the scene that we can get a freshly grilled beaf. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Overall it was decent. Though Everytime we needed something we had to call the waiter over, we were seated into the back corner which was covered, great for a date if you want privacy as only the other corner can see you but not so good for service because I don't think they come by often or can easily see you, for Japan those call service buttons other restaurants have at the table would make it perfect. For the food, the ribs were perfect, met in your mother and falling off the bone and not over or under seasoned the shrimp was a little over cooked but still ok. Went on the 29th and it was they're "niku day" (meat day) so they had a special on a 1lb steak. Unfortunately that steak was one of the toughest steaks. Asked for medium it came mostly medium rare, let it grill on the hot plate a little and it was just really hard and rough and dry. MoreOpenTable Diner -
My husband and I took some very special guests to Banque and were thrilled with the wonderful meal and service. Banque, itself, is richly appointed and is set up for very intimate and private gatherings. The course meal was perfectly paired with the wines we chose. And... there is such an amazing choice available on this wine list. One of the largest and most comprehensive we've seen in Tokyo. Of course, it's fine to just enjoy wines there, but we prefer to pair them with a meal. We highly recommend Banque - it's a true wine lover's paradise. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Traveling from USA looking for a non fish dinner to experience Tokyo “steak”. This place was great. Cool casual vibe, steak options for all of us ranging from prune cuts to burgers. Fantastic! If you’re looking for a relaxing place, friendly and interesting, this is it. Would definitely recommend. Pricey, but worth the value. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Ostrea Oyster Bar in the Roppongi of Minato, Tokyo, is a fun, energetic spot that has earned excellent reviews by both critic and patron alike. The establishment was built upon the simple premise of enjoying oysters from all over the world that can be eaten raw or cooked in a variety of ways.
Those dining at Ostrea will have a pick of carefully selected oysters from not only Japanese waters, but from waters around such places as the United States, Australia and Ireland. Plenty of good times are to be had at Ostrea, and reservations aren't required, but are taken.More

You won't find this restaurant on other social media platforms. So prepare for a unique, more local, experience. The host/chef is very personable and very willing to work with you. We shared several laughs over the course of the meal. There are approximately 10-12 seats at the counter with the chef and two other private rooms. When my party of 4 arrived, we were the first ones, and had most of the meal to ourselves before a couple appeared. The food itself was very wide ranging, some of the dishes I had never seen or tried before, and there were several that I was hoping would appear and they did appear. The sous chef would come to us after every dish was served to let us know what fish it was from a personal picture catalogue of the fish. The most interesting dishes we tried were a tiny eel dish that appeared almost as glass noodles, along with a progression of 8 different nigiri from fishes I had never tried. The ultimate highlight was being served a bowl of Uni (Sea Urchin) with fish roe. What makes this restaurant unique is the close Omakase experience, that was fairly affordable by other restaurant standards, and available. Finding reservations to the top restaurants was difficult, after starting our search late. MoreOpenTable Diner -
