Chai Ki (Restaurant)
In the evening (from 5pm) the A La Carte menu in the Restaurant offers a more refined, experimental cuisine featuring traditional flavours and ingredients, alongside a carefully selected wine & drinks list.
HIGHCHAIRS, PRAMS & BUGGIES
We have designated tables for high chairs in our Toddy Shop Bar only, subject to availability. Lunchtimes are busy so we recommend contacting us in advance so we can note your requirements. Due to limited space we kindly request that all prams, buggies, scooters or similar are left at reception for safe keeping.
Disappointing. Food came out at a gallop and was mediocre. Service was efficient but soulless. Prices did not reflect the product. Will not be returning. Pity because it used to be very good.
The second time I've been to Chai Ki and again the food was just delicious. Can't wait to go again and enjoy introducing different friends to this lovely restaurant.
Great service and amazing food- will definitely be revisiting!
Very delicious food, amazing service. Portions are too small for the price you're paying.
I have missed the Chai Ki, it’s well over a year since I was last there and they have a spectacular new menu.
Took my teen and her best friend for a reunion dinner. It was their choice because of the butter chicken and the paratha, both of which were the best they’d eaten! Will definitely come again! Great menu and mocktails were a big hit too.
I went chai ki for my husband birthday
I personally would not go there again
I ordered 3 item of food and 3 sides
Food arrived witnin 10min of ordering but went cold within few minutes
I felt the food didnt have much flavour
And for the price its overly dear.
Excellent food and good service, just a little slow given it was a business lunch
Very nice restaurant, lovely food, although a bit pricy (small portions considering the price) . We were served by a very nice waiter called Iannis/Giannis who was super nice and friendly!!
Perfect location and atmosphere for a date. I have tried both menus and cannot recommend this place enough!
Great food but the restaurant not worth it. Stick with the toddy bar and snack menu.
Food always good but not worth the mark-up and added service charge in the restaurant.
Sad but true!
One of the best Indian restaurants I have been too, Amazing food and drinks accompanied by amazing service
Excellent quick service. Food at table within minutes!
Very well catered for. Food was exceptional as always and the service was excellent.
Very disappointing, have been to their sister restaurant Roti Chai, and it’s amazing every time. This one has a lot to work on making the formula good, we had a 6.15 table, we were given a mediocre table though the rest of the restaurant was empty, they said they were all reserved, when we left they were still empty. The food was ok but not the best and certainly not on par with Roti Chai. Service, just awful, cocktails awful. Sad to say, very disappointing all round
The service was terrible the waiters did not understand what was being ordered. Asked for three naans and only one was brought. Asked for two kulfis and only one was given.
Went to Chai Ki to celebrate a friends birthday, overall experience was excellent! The food was great and the atmosphere and waiter even better. Thanks Chai Ki
The food was over hyped, it’s looks aesthetically pleasing but being from an Indian heritage myself, I could probably eat the same at home. For what I was paying, it’s quite over priced for average food. Quite disappointed as I had higher expectations, although the service was fast and they were very friendly.
I would reccomend the lunch to anyone who works in canary wharf but i dont think its worth the trip otherwise.
Nice place , the food is decent but nothing special..
There were 6 of us and we ordered everything to share. Every dish was amazing, particularly the Goan prawns, coconut prawns, paneer and butter chicken, which were exceptional. The waiters were also very helpful and attentive. We all agreed that we would visit again.
Nice food, a lot of light. The place is perfect for big companies but if there are only 2 of you it won't be something romantic.
Starters are amazing. Their mains need some work.
Also pork on the menu.... a bit weird since Indians don’t really eat pork. You’d never get a pork curry in an authentic Indian restaurant.
Overall good value for money.
We decided to move to the bar area as there is more choice on the menu and they accommodated us even at a busy time. Food and service was great. Would definitely recommend.
I went to Kai Chi with a friend. It was very buzzy but nice atmosphere. The butter chicken and lamb main curry was very tasty. Breads were good as was the shrimp starter. Would go back
Lovely food. I like it here. Flavours and quality of food are amazing.
My friends who had not been before really enjoyed it
lovely staff and customer service! lovely food for cute prices! I visit often and always love it!
Interesting and diverse Indian tapas in a casual but smartly laid out environment with a cool ambience, this is not your usual East London Indian by any stretch of the imagination!
I’d been here before and enjoyed it but this was a step up fro a couple of years ago. Firstly the good while not Michelin (and sometimes all the better for that) . The service was prompt and very helpful. Prices are keen and without the usual West End mark up. Lamb kebab, chicken Nazim and Sabz Kofta we’re perfect and possible the best Dahl I’ve tasted. Excellent value.
Great food, great service and good value for money
Great starters, main was good but we couldn't taste all the flavours on the menu. They surprised my boyfriend with a cake for his birthday which was nice! Thanks x
I visited the restaurant for the first time. Staff are really friendly and the food was great.
Good presentation but very limited choices in the menu. Could be better in taste.
Lovely food and service so many veggie options and well catered for an Indian palette too. Great cocktails. Visited many times and would visit again.
Excellent posh Indian food. Portions could've been slightly bigger, but they are all delicious nonetheless. This is a great place for larger gatherings, it's become a staple of an annual get together.
My wife loved the twist on Indian cuisine! Will go back again.
Great food and catered to the fasting times x we requested at a particular time and ther brought the food at perfect timing.
Sadly the concept was quite confusing and very restricted for people who are vegetarians. We originally booked to dine as a party of 9 for the evening but were expected to pick out of the ‘Party Menu’. These were reasonably priced but the items for vegetarians were limited to a choice of 2 items for the price of £29+.
We decided to dine as late as 9pm as we had an extra person joining and to allow us to choose from the ‘A La Carte’ menu. Again choices were more limited for vegetarians for dinner. Upon seeing the ‘Toddy’s Bar’ menu- the bar located at the entrance, we realised that there was better options for both diets. Sadly the venue refused the purchase of the food from the bar to be dined in the main restaurant when in effect it’s in the same place. Outrageous as it seems we had our starters at Toddy’s Bar and then moved to the main restaurant for mains. Not a place I’d recommend. There is no organisation. However, I would like to thank every member of staff and the manager who handled this situation very well and accomodated where they could. Although they tried their absolute best it was dissapointing to receive a few cold meat dishes and uncooked lamb and fish dishes.
Everything felt like it was all over the place. If it’s an indian concept, Indians know it better. I think it needs strategy to prevent negative feedback. A look at the overall from booking to dining.
Not fully what I was expecting but it was ok. Worked out well because I was in the nearby cinema, but i wouldn't travel especially to eat there.
