HIGHCHAIRS, PRAMS & BUGGIES
We have designated tables for high chairs in our Toddy Shop Bar only, subject to availability. Lunchtimes are busy so we recommend contacting us in advance so we can note your requirements. Due to limited space we kindly request that all prams, buggies, scooters or similar are left at reception for safe keeping.
good food. Restaurant very noisy so probably good for larger groups
great food, service is always good, nice casual setting but the option of the restaurant for more formal occasions
Still #1 in London - form me
Very limited menu (unrecognisable to most Indians), overpriced for what you get, not particularly authentic
Good Indian tapas in the Toddy Bar.... It is all about sharing and trying new things i.e. the jackfruit surprisingly was extremely good!!!
Used to be a favourite in the Wharf. Previously ive rated as 5 stars but last few times food has been poor. Did not taste fresh- like yesterdays food reheated in microwave. Ribs warm and rubbery, salad and veg limp chilli chicken tasteless, burnt ginger rice was totally bland. Service not great. We were left with lots of empty plates on the table for a long time. When i asked the waiter to clear some he looked at me like id just insulted his mother. Im sad to say that after many years as a favourite lunch spot for both business and pleasure this will be my last.
Great food as always. I took a friend for breakfast who was visiting from Birmingham and she loved it too.
Omelette is always yummy but personally I find it has a tad too much oil so improvement could be made but In the meantime I still order it!
Love the place and the food but the attitude around table turnover and slightly pushy attitude from the more senior restaurant staff is a bit disappointing and dulls the overall experience.
Loved it. Great food, really fresh & interesting flavours. The only downside was the staff had very limited knowledge of what a vegan eats & recommended calamari & paneer, perhaps a training session needed.
Good Indian style food, good value for money. Enjoyed dinner there.
Greate food and Excellent service.
Great dinner made
Our daughters birthday special by giving her a lovely slice of chocolate cake and
Ice cream. Will definitely return.
Thanks Chaki Ki
Great food. Sort of expensive but I think it’s a fine dining so sort of justified. I wish they wouldn’t charge for the dips and pickled salads. Seems a bit unfair.
Overall, amazing ambience and food. Would recommend and go there again!
Great service and food as always. The booking via Open Table went smoothly with no issues.
Great food as always and highly recommend for tapas style meal
Really excellent food served promptly
Delicious food and lovely staff. Would definitely go again.
Interesting good food with some really star dishes in this groovy well lit, comfortable restaurant. Definitely Indian but definitely not like Indian you get at most places. Definitely going back!
Nothing particular right or wrong about the place. The service was generally good but extremely slow.
In respect of food, amongst the 6 - 7 dishes we offered, only one or two were actually good. Will stay away from the calamari, rather too fishy, over fried and overly sweet.
Good for a light bite or lunch but not dinner.
Excellent as always! Great service, amazing food! One of my favourite places for Asian food!
Sometimes feel rushed in this place. Though good food..probably need to change the menu slightly to being in something new.
Great location and great food and service, use regularly
Always like eating here. The food in the toddy bar section is just fantastic and really reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and décor too!
Great place, lovely service and brilliant food. Will be coming again!
Great food but we were sometimes overlooked by staff and sometimes service was amazing. Would definitely go back
Really excellent food, great service and in good location.
Nice place and good service but the food was very disappointed.
lovely restaurant overlooking the canal, food is delicious and the brunch special dish is amazing
the service is really fast (not in a good way) and waiters try to take plates away from the table with food still to be finished
Always a great experience when i go to the toddy shop
Amazing food, outstanding service and great atmosphere. It is a bit more on the expensive side but it’s honestly worth every penny. I’m still dreaming about the food
Contemporary Indian restaurant and not the typical Indian restaurant.
Food quality was very good but the taste has not meet our expectations. Their sister restaurant Roti Chai in Oxford Street we found better on the parameter of taste.
I would recommend the restaurant for the experience as the ambience and atmosphere was awesome.
Perfect for a quick bite and drink after work
I have to note the exemplary service at Chai Ki. We had ordered 3 dishes of which one was a curry. We could not finish the curry dish and requested a takeaway. However they don’t have the facilities to give curries in takeaway boxes as they use paper only containers. As a goodwill gesture, the manager did not charge us the curry dish in the final bill. I think it was a generous gesture.
They were very friendly and accommodating! The food was really nice especially the burnt chilli chicken and chicken tikka naan dishes. It was for a birthday and so when it came to desert time they brought a cheesecake with a candle and sang happy birthday which was very cute! The only bad thing in my opinion though, is that the tables are so so close together (the low seats) so sometimes it felt a bit awkward and not really private but overall I’d go again for the food and ambience and service!
Nice atmosphere for brunch. Egg dish was a bit disappointing given it was one of few brunch dishes on menu but other food was great and delicious cocktails.
Although I had booked a table through Open table, when I got there all that was available were a high table with bar stools. I requested for a proper table as I had backache and the stools would make it worse and several tables were empty. The staff were unhelpful and insisted that there were no other free tables as everyone else had specifically asked for a lower table and I had not. Seemed like a ridiculous response. Even mid way as my backache got worse and my friends were also uncomfortable with the seats, I requested again but still the same response. It ruined my night and i didn’t want to inconvenience my friends otherwise would have left the restaurant immediately. Worse experience ever, had a terrible back afterwards and never visiting again. Food was okay and service was releatively quick which meant it ended my misery sooner.
Food was on point, all very tasty and staff were all very nice
Access to more regular seating spaces than the high chairs, it is not suitable to bring clients in and in uncomfortable, se we have to move to the restaurant.
Amazing food and quick service. Knocked down as we were put on a very small table for 3 of us. Meant we didn’t have enough room for food.
The service was great and very helpful. The food was generally great, a couple of dishes fell a bit flat for us: the bhel puri and the chicken tikka naan (which are apparently their most popular dishes). However we really liked the burnt chilli chicken and the shakarkandi chaat. Otherwise a nice place, great atmosphere.
