Chai Wu Harrods
The menu at Chai Wu has been thoughtfully devised by an expert team of experienced Chinese chefs, who have created a diverse menu of exquisite Chinese cuisine, incorporating speciality and luxury ingredients throughout. To start, a selection of soups, dim sum and small dishes are available, such as Chilean seabass dumplings with gold leaf; and Wagyu black pepper puffs.
Signature plates and specialities include Beijing duck; Japanese miyazaki kobe beef, sweet and sour chicken served in dragon fruit; and indulgent green tea chocolate fondant.
nice，there food very gooood
Wonderful. One of the best Chineses restaurants I have tried in London.
Great suggestions, service great, prompt service. Delicious food more inviting.
Booked table for 7:45... ordered by 8:15 had to be out by 9:00pm.
Very quick meal For a £270 meal.
Expensive and bad food. One of the worst Chinese restaurant that I have ever been to.
I would say that this is the best restaurant in London. From arriving you feel welcome and they are so organized. Care is at its best throughout the lunch. The grill lobster is the best I ever had and I have eaten lobster all around. The sushi tastes amazing. The mocktail was nice. The amount of food was perfect. I can go on to describe the details but it is best to go and see and experience perfection.
Always great food
Amazing as always. My kids favourite restaurant !!
We really like Chai wu fried rice and Grilled Lobster. Service was excellent ,staffs were very nice and helpful, good recommendations. We will come back definitely.
As soon as we arrive, we were told off for making a reservation via Opentable at short notice (15 mins before arrival) and were advised to call the restaurant to do so next time. I don’t know what is the referral fee arrangement between Opentable and Chai Wu, but first, I had the option to make the reservation via Opentable, and if Chai Wu do know take reservation at short notice, this should be communicated with Opentable not to the customers; second, we have already made the booking, a table was reserved and turned up at the door on time, what is the point of telling us off?! Being told off as the first thing at arrival is a terrible way to begin any dinning experience, especially with the price range of Chai Wu. The food is nice and delicate. Although a little over priced, the location of it makes it one of the good options to dine when you are shopping in Harrods. We have been to Chai Wu four times as a regular shopper in Harrods but I guess this time has really disappointed us and will not go back again...
Another excellent lunch at Chai Wu. The food is consistently outstanding and on this occasion we enjoyed the vegetarian dumplings, beetroot dumplings, vegetarian California maki roll, Dim Sum platter and the tuna belly maki roll as well as a few cocktails amongst others. The star though was for me the Dim Sum player along with the lobster won ton soup. The delicately balanced flavours of the Dim Sum selection are worth the trip to Harrods alone. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
We experienced Chai Wu at Taste of London and were blown away by their Dim Sum and vegetarian dumplings (which are egg free too). We decided to try Chai Wu for lunch and were not disappointed. From the cocktails to the Sushi, Dim Sum and main course dishes, all were exceptional. The only area of improvement was for the vegetarian spring rolls which were a bit oily (but to be expected given that they are fried after all).
Chai Wu is definitely somewhere I will return soon, however, ordering a la carte can be quite expensive, so I would recommend going for a set lunch or as a special treat.
Even tho we reserved, had to wait 10-15 mins for the table
The food was delicious. However, service was poor. After being seated, it took over 20 minutes to get water and drinks, which was after 8pm. (We had 7:30p reservation.) At 10 minutes after 8pm, the manager came around to tell us the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes and we should get any additional food orders placed. I ordered two glasses of wine over the 45 minutes, only received one, and they tried to bill me for both. For a restaurant that has a strict 9pm departure requirement, you would think service would be more attentive. Sincerely disappointed in this experience.
Great food! And ver nice services! Both Chinese dim sum or Japanese Sushi are delicious!
Initially we started off on the wrong foot as the server after about15 minute wait brought our cocktails and also advised us that our meal would be coming now- before we even had started with our cocktails. We are expressed our reluctance to have our dim sum with the cocktails. It appeared that she recovered and waited the appropriate time asked if we were ready for our food. Overall, the dim sum was outstanding and the service attentive and we enjoyed ourselves and will come back.
Expensive for an afternoon lunch. Maybe we are paying for the fact that it is located within Harrods.
One of the best Asian restaurant ever.
Was lovely had a fab time it was my husband 60 birthday
We were the only people there. They had not received our booking via the app. The service was very good, the food was nice but very expensive and honestly, not better than our local takeaway. The menu was unclear. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, it arrived covered in batter which I would not have ordered had I known this.
Great restaurant! We turned up 20 minutes late which I was worried about as online it said that we had missed last orders but nothing was said. The staff were lovely, took us to our table and we’re happy to push two tables together for us to give us a bigger space. Our waitress recommended delicious cocktails with no qualms. The food was spectacular, the menu was extensive with lots of little edges which was great for avid foodies! Loved the black cod with candy floss and the sweet and sour chicken in a dragon fruit. Would absolutely return.
As usual we enjoyed an excellent and relaxing early evening meal before Xmas shipoibg
Great food. Higher in price but worth it. Would definitely go again.
Good food but not really value for money. Service was exceptional and the staff were very helpful. Thank you.
Every thing is perfect the food is delicious and the services is amazing but it’s too expensive
I strongly recommend the Beijing Duck!
Great food and good service.
Very delicious Chinese food, and very fresh and yummy sashimi ! The staffs are very friendly with the kids!
Peaceful family meal with great service and a great waitress
If you must eat in Harrods and if you must eat Chinese food - which was my case because of my friends who were quite restricted with food choice and venue - then you need to be ok with paying a lot of money for mediocre Chinese food.
This is not a place to have a quality dining experience for sure but if you must eat here I'd say dim sums I had were pretty decent (but for a hefty price...).
Enjoyed the food， the most amazing was prawns in Coconut. Desert has 3 scoop ice cream of Pandan, salty caramel and pistachio!
It was a really nice experience after shopping at Harrods a good option for something different in the shop
Sublime! The duck was wonderful. Consistently good. But pricey!
Waiters were rather busy. But the overall experience was quite good.
Very bad experience with the hostess Margaret. Extremely rude, expected better from such a high end restaurant. Very disappointed, not worth it.
The staff at Chai Wu were so lovely!! I was celebrating a birthday and my friend her engagement and they made some cakes with candles for both of us!! The food is superb! Definitely worth a return visit!!
Highly recommend, even as a family with kids. Treated extremely well by our host from start to end. Our waitress was also very polite. Food tasted amazing and drinks choices were refreshing.
Good food and great ambience....the staff are friendly and ever so helpful.
There are probably more hyped places in London, like Hakkasan and Hutong where the food plays second fiddle to "being seen," talking selfies and distorting the entire meal with Snapchat filters.
That isn't Chai Wu even though it easily could have been. Here the food and the service are the core values.
The food is brilliant; subtle where it needs to be, in for example: smoked chicken, and dover sole with black bean sauce. This isn't black bean sauce that is applied to everything, I've never tasted black sauce like this before and it went perfectly with the sole. There are big flavours too; the Wagu beef skewers, there's only three pieces but you will remember them for a long time. The only place that is comparable that I can think of is Kai.
The service is also very good: friendly, a little funny and efficient.
The ambience was perfect for me, quiet but humming.
Fantastic meal with great service. Dim sum was to die for and we wanted everything on the menu!
