    My husband and I had brunch at Champagne Central with a friend and her husband. It was easy to book online, we had a nice table and the service and food was excellent. Plenty of brunch options to choose from.

    Being asked to vacate our table 15mins before our booking was over was not appreciated. It does not take 15mins to ‘turn over’ a table. If our table was cleared of empty glasses throughout our visit that would help. And if the bar didn’t take as long to make our drinks would also help we had to end up cancelling a round of drinks in order to leave our table at our allocated time

    Mostly perfect, however a couple of things prevented me scoring our experience higher. Both our brunches were cool, and we were close to asking if they could be reheated. We also noticed that 2 other tables commented to staff about exactly the same matter. The food itself was first class. The other point was with regards to our cocktails. We both felt there was far too much ice in each of them. If we hadn’t taken most of the cubes out they would have diluted the taste considerably and to the detriment of the drinks. Special mention to our (Canadian) waitress, who was exemplary in every respect! Hopefully these honest thoughts will be of help to you.

    Service was pleasant although slow. The food and drinks were good but a bottle of veuve clicquot was very expensive & the most we have paid in Glasgow or elsewhere. We had dinner in another restaurant later the same day & the VC was £77 compared to £125 at Grand Central!!!

    Really lovely time in Champagne Central, service was a bit slow to start, we didn’t have any menus on our table, when we asked we got them pretty quickly, then had a bit of a wait to order and drinks finally arrived at 5:25. All the staff were lovely and service did improve after that.

    Food did not taste fresh ie sandwiches. Had to ask for our tea/coffee 30 mins after we received our afternoon tea and then took another 10mins to arrive. Normally have some hot food with a tea but this wasn't included. Cakes were not the best.

    The setting is lovely and table service staff were attentive but the bar staff were very slow due to fact that a lot of cocktails were being ordered. The heat and noise levels were a bit much for our elderly guests who couldn't wait to leave. We didn't eat, just had drinks.

    We had a lovely morning on Saturday but the room we had our brunch in was really cold, then we went through to the champagne bar which was even colder and the service wasn’t great, we asked one young chap for the cocktail menu and he said I don’t work in this department I don’t know where they are !!! And just left us sitting there, we did ask another member of staff of the heating was on and he says he thinks the heating was broken !! We were very disappointed as we have been several times and had no issues

    The only food that felt and tasted fresh were the sandwiches and the small roll. The scones were rock hard and although the small cakes were nice they didn’t seem very fresh. This could all be down to products being batch cooked and frozen.

    I was there as a guest, the service was poor, the waiter offered us a bellini as part of our deal. He came back after 15 minutes to tell us they had no passion fruit syrup. We then got food, the sandwiches were mediocre at best curried egg, cheese and a brioche bun with some kind of chicken. The scones were dry and hard I managed one half, I only had one cake. My cousin did say they were nice. For an afternoon tea we had to ask twice for tea. The staff themselves were very nice but as the dining room was full they were run off their feet.

    Very disappointed with the service and the quality of the afternoon which was £32 each. 2 small sandwiches, small bun, two scones and three cakes. Nothing special, the staff were lovely but very stretched with the high numbers in the place. Lovely surroundings. Wouldn’t recommend for afternoon tea.

    My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with Bellini. Also, a nice pot of tea. The food selection was nice and as we couldn't eat all of the sweet treats, we were given a box to take home. A nice touch. Thank you.

    We had a lovely afternoon at Champagne Central. The food was lovely, the staff friendly and attentive and the ambience great. We sat for a long time having cocktails after our afternoon tea and I would highly recommend this venue.

    This was the first time that I have used the paperless app which went flawlessly, I will certainly be doing this again. Our server was very attentive checking to see if we needed a refill of tea or coffee. The Afternoon Tea itself had a very nice selection of sweet and savory items.

    When we arrived & waited to be seated, there were 3 staff nearby. They thought it was more important to clear tables than to attend to us. One staff member walked by us 3 times, looked at us but didn't acknowledge us. Another staff member said after the 3rd time, ' did she get you'?. We said no but still had to wait before we were shown to a table.The service didn't improve during the meal with long waits throughout. The menu was extremely limited & overpriced & the food was sub standard. We had a similar experience in the bar area, with very poor service & staff who looked utterly miserable. At 1 point there were 7 staff behind the bar with only 1 of them serving someone & I still had to wait around 5 minutes to be served.

    Booked this for my friend’s birthday as a treat and was not disappointed, the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you, the selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes were lovely so I would recommend going there and the surroundings are lovely, old world and grand and so convenient being able to walk out and step onto your train home.
