I booked a table for three at Charlotte’s W5 for a reunion of friends visiting central London from overseas. They kindly came to Ealing for me, and having had a great time here before with my other friends for a get together, I expected no less experience. We were led to a high table with stool type chairs by the kitchen bar, by an ugly barn door, unlike all the other ambient looking tables at the restaurant. When I asked for another place instead, we were offered a small table fit for two people, which we took. I ended up complaining to the waitress who seemed quite defensive about the situation, and got told I should have chosen the option to sit at the normal tables on the booking website, which I do not remember seeing anyway. I had to ask for a drink stand so we could at least put the ice bucket aside and make room for the food, but the only response I got was “we don’t have one.” In the end, she did bring a small table to put the bottle of “extra dry” Prosecco, which was not so dry, next to us. We decided to just get on with our long overdue get together and forget about it. The food was ok. And we did have a great time because there was so much to catch up on, not because we were back together in such an accommodating restaurant to make it even nicer for us.
I was quite disappointed with the whole experience and don’t think I will return.

I have been to charlottes twice before on my birthday and really enjoyed the cocktails and the ambiance. Staff have been friendly and helpful. Not this time. From the moment we sat down we were told what was NOT available. The cocktails list states that is you can't find what you are looking for- the staff will be happy to help. My friend asked for a pornstar martini and was asked in a patronising way if we had been before, and then rudely told that they didn't do cocktails like that. A friend asking for a g and t asked for a recommendation and was told "I have 4 pages of gin- what exactly do you want?!" I don't really expect to go out for an evening and be patronised by the waitress. Such a shame. I won't be going again.

Lovely place to hag out, several styles of seating, outside, inside, bar and booths. lovely new area. food tasted good, but the service provided lacked badly. could have been a one-off.
took my family there for a weekend brunch, 80% of the food arrived all together, but a few dishes were missing and we had to order them again. the roast arrived 45 mins after everyone else had fished!
real shame as the place is really nice and the staff try to be very helpful. But something went wrong for us on the day.

Charlottes is a great local restaurant, but can be subject to variation in service. Waiting staff need to be a little more observant and attentive.

I took a friend here for her birthday and we had a delicious lunch. It was great value for 3 courses and because it was her Birhday we received a complimentary glass of prosecco each. The Caesar salad was fantastic, best we had ever had and the chocolate mousse was indulgent deliciousness! Thank you to Andre and his team

What a fabulous experience. We haven't been to Charlotte's W5 for a while, but we were so glad we returned. We took advantage of the early diner offer and it was absolutely delicious. Each course was also beautifully presented and we especially enjoyed the pulled lamb starter and the duck breast main. Just as importantly, the service was faultless. Our server, Matthew, was not only knowledgeable about the entire menu, but was extremely attentive and made the whole experience a delight. I would highly recommend Charlotte's W5; whether it be a casual early dinner, a festive celebration with a group, or an intimate dinner for two. We will certainly be returning.

Service was friendly but lacked polish. Burrata starter was brought out freezing cold - as if straight out the fridge - cardinal sin. My rare steak was brought out medium- well done. Would return for coffee or wine as nice ambience but not to dine. Food was very average but priced as something special.

We booked for a family lunch and have eaten here before.

The good news is that Charlottes W5 have now dispensed with the silly system of small / medium / large plates - the bad news is that the large plates hardly seem to have anything on them.

I’m not sure we’ll be rushing back to eat here again - even with a promotional offer the meal was poor value.

The things that we didn’t like:
- the portion size of the “set” menu is smaller than the same items off the main menu - in our case we order a set menu sea bream and a full menu version of the same and the former was quite literally 1/3 the size of the latter. I’ve never seen this in a restaurant before and it completely takes the mickey to have a “set meal” offer that is slightly cheaper but 2/3 smaller.
- the cheesecake had been made with commercial / ship bought digestives for the base - the logo was still on the chunks of biscuit. Really poor for a £8.50 dessert let alone one served by a place that makes such a big deal about the quality of its food and attention to detail
- the service was poor - constantly having to ask for obvious things like cutlery, salt & pepper etc.
- my “hazlenut crunch on vanilla ice cream” was also made with shop bought digestives with some kind of hazelnut syrup poured over.

We ate in J Sheekey the same weekend - it was similarly priced but spot on for the quality of the food and service.

I was actually quite embarrassed to have taken the extended family to Charlotte’s W5 - it’s just not up to scratch for the price and they need to simplify things further until they’ve got the basics right.

Always a great meal at Charlotte's W5, food beautifully cooked and presented. Go early and enjoy a cocktail as well. They have a fabulous list with more gins than you can imagine exist, as well as a really imaginative and well-priced wine list.

Went for a Sunday roast to find out that they had sold out by 4pm but we were not informed on arrival, we waited quite awhile for the food and when it did arrive food was cold. Staff are always nice and try to make up for mistakes but it happens too frequently. Last few visits have been disappointing, less inclined to return.

Service was pretty slow and a bit dis-interested. We never received our sharing bread, but it was added onto the bill. Main course Mustard Glazed Vegetables was delicious, but tiny in comparison to the other main courses. 2 pieces of broccoli and 3 pieces of cauliflower does not a main course make! We had dessert elsewhere.

I have been to Charlotte's W5 many times and repeatedly go back because I like the atmosphere and food, whether it be for dinner, tea, brunch or just wine and nibbles. I recommend the chips to everyone - delicious!
However, on this occasion I was left disappointed and felt guilty I had encouraged my friends to pay out for it - our waitress was miserable, another member of staff was rather rude when it came to sorting out the bill, plus there was a lack of options / flexibility for vegans, other than just removing elements from the dish, meaning my friend ended up just having a plate of veg, without anything to supplement it and make it into a main and then her dessert lacked the granita stated on the menu so was essentially just chopped up fruit - therefore not worth the price of the set menu!

Mostly marvellous Fantastic food. Odd that we couldn't order mineral water ( they supply own brand which was free but alas was flat ... they did replace it with a bubbly one ) food was really good. Coffee was to our liking but they changed it out. Lovely spacious as we had a wheel chair with us but several tables outside had to move chairs to let me in which was a bit inconvenient for them but they were gracious. Deserts to die for. Thank you W5 for a wonderful lunch

Food was extremely tasty - but portion size on the vegetarian dish of cauliflower and broccoli left a lot to be desired.
We ordered a bottle of wine (on the expensive end, having had to chase down a server) from the bin-ends from Charlotte’s Place - we were twice brought the wrong bottle, before the third person came to ask again which one...third time lucky, they got the right one in the end. We got free desserts as an apology for the farce, which was very generous.
But I didn’t like the constant up-selling of our main server and also he was never around to take further orders or check on us, we chased down service 3 times.
I’d still go back, given the nice effort to make good with dessert and the quality of the food.

Unfortunately our experience at Charlottes W5 was not a good one on this occasion. From the moment we walked in the lady who was acting as the main hostess was curt and a bit rude. Her manner did not change throughout our time there. The other waiters & waitresses were lovely though. Smiley, attentive & informative.
The food has definitely gone downhill. The starters were the usual top quality refined affair you'd expect at charlottes. My main of Rabbit looked like it was served up in a cafe & the carrot cake was a doorstop wedge that was dry. I really hope this was a blip as I've always loved the charlottes restaurants, but unfortunately on this occasion it didn't meet their usual high standards.

We've been to Charlotte's W5 a few times which says something; the front of house is always very friendly and in general the food is very good. I would say on this visit that food was not quite as good as previous visits - the crab rarebit was disappointingly close to crab-paste on toast for example; we had to chase for the sour dough that was supposed to come with the tomato salad and it did not really become part of the dish with the cubes simply sprinkled on top. The summer fruits Eton Mess was disappointing - the meringue was not properly mixed with cream. However the pulled lamb starter was excellent; the roast potatoes with the Sunday roast were as good as they get. So a bit mixed this time and we look forward Charlotte's Place re-opening..our favourite of the group!

I was looking for somewhere in Ealing to go for Sunday Brunch. I booked for 1230 but we were running late but they did keep our table for us. The decor and ambience was great. Staff were polite and friendly however we need need to wait a while to get someone’s attention to pay. The food for the price was mediocre for brunch. I regretted not getting the Sunday roast which I would get if visiting again. I would visit again.

The service was fine but the staff were a little over stretched although friendly. One order was forgotten and our steaks which we ordered rare came quite well done. Everything was put right but it disrupted the meal. The choice of starters was bizarre, crab meat rarebit, was unpleasant. Fries with our steak already £24 were an additional £4.50 and spices greens 7 pieces of cabbage with chilli oil were similarly priced just silly things that irritate and take away from what could be a really cool place to hang out.

We were quite disappointed to be able to have the group menu with very limited options. We were a table of 9, with one vegan who had one option only for each course. We asked for a dark rum and coke and received a clear rum. There were no sugar free mixers so our diabetic guest had to have water all night. Our designated waiter dragged out the courses hoping we would buy more drinks, I had to ask for the main course as we had to wait for an hour. When the bill came we had been charged extra for dessert, when it had not been made clear that the group menu was for two courses. It was my daughters 21st birthday so we said nothing as we didn’t want to ruin her evening. The service charge in our bill was £60, way too much for what we received and the main course after waiting an hour was barely warm. None of us wanted to send our food back in case it took another 30 minutes to get it back. None of us will be going back. Which is a same as we’ve all been to Charlotte’s Place and loved it.

This is the third time I’ve been and don’t think I’ll be going back. Every time I’ve had an issue with poor service, unfortunately thought it’s a one off but it has repeatedly been poor.
On our last occasion the waiter had no manners when asking if we were ready to place our orders, he forgot to add changes we mentioned so the food arrived wrong. The food was so late that we knew they had forgotten about our order, our drink and food went back twice as it was incorrect and to top it off after waiting 15 minutes for our bill they presented us the wrong one.
