The best Caesar salad in town.....be naughty and pair with triple cooked chunky chips.
All round excellent as usual, keep up the great standards
This was our second visit to Charlottes W5. Again the food, wine and service were excellent. The waitress helped pick seating suitable for my elderly mother and made us feel comfortable. Each of those staff serving our table did a great job, were engaging and helpful. Thanks again!
The atmosphere in this restaurant was cool as always, but my god the food was awful! It has changed so much since the restaurant first opened! It's such a shame! The waitress did tell us at the beginning that the chef was changing from next month, which should have been enough warning, but we were very shocked at how bad the food was! I really hope the food improves with the new chef as this really was a favourite restaurant of ours!
Okay but much too noisy. It is acoustically bright anyway and the ‘background music was intrusive and made normal conversation difficult
The space in dickens yard is great. Some things on the menu, not so much. A couple of my friends had the beets starter and it was just ok. The cheese board is very underwhelming with just one piece of cheese. We ordered two and they both came with blue cheese. When requested they did change a plate to cheddar. That said my starter the burrata was very tasty.
Difficult to find
Way overpriced fir what it is and where it is
Meats were rubber
Green Sides were very good but 4.50 for no more than a stalk or two of kale chopped up is absurd
Dint get me started in the starters which were hopeless but pretty.
Great visit, great food.
Very disappointed with food. Ordered steak with peppercorn sauce. Steak arrived over cooked, and the sauce was a joke- brown tasteless water. We asked to bring new sauce which apparently was cooked especially for us. Unfortunately it was still far from peppercorn sauce. The service was nice though and we got a free glass of wine.
Disappointing exprerience on Saturday evening at Charlotte's W5.
Some of the food was excellent, some of it was lukewarm at best.
The service time was embarrassingly long. We were advised that the kitchen was under pressure and there would be a slight delay. The delay was very, very long. We had to ask the manager if we had been forgotten about.
The starter was sloppily presented and was miniscule - at big prices.
A bit slapdash and careless which is not acceptable at prices charged.
Hope this was a one-off.
The front of house staff were great and very attentive however, this was let down by the food. Risotto came out stone cold, the salad was missing ingredients, raw pork was servers in the terrine and raw dough for the flat bread starter. I spent the rest of the night and next day in the bathroom following my root veg main. Not great at all. Can’t fault the waiter from Llanelli though! He was too good for that place!
Despite the lovely setting our meal was incredibly disappointing. The starters were not bad but the mains were incredibly disappointing. I ordered a super food salad with chicken. The chicken appeared to have been boiled and was so dry I could hardly swallow it. There was hardly any dressing which made the meal even less appetising. My friends had a similar experience with their dishes.
However friendly staff and a good wine list. This place could be great but they really do need to improve the food!
very good as ever, but it would be wrong of me not to mention one thing with which we were disappointed. One of our party (of three) ordered a rib eye steak. When it arrived it was tiny, I'd be amazed if it was the 250g as shown on the menu. We'd been there a couple of weeks previously and had ordered rib eye then and it was much larger. In fairness though we did point this out to the waitress who agreed and brought along another one.
I would like more desserts for the dinner (cheese cake, .... )more choice.
Unfortunately the weather contrived to detract a little from our enjoyment of the evening. Too many dishes on the menu were not available owing to delivery problems. Our waiter did his best to make it up to us, but he couldn't spirit up the food we had ordered when it wasn't there!
The food, that was served, was up to W5's normal high standards, and the drinks were generally excellent too. The ambiance was a little limited, being a Sunday evening after a snowy spell, but what can you do?
Been to Charlotte W5 many times. The food and services were always been good. Not anymore. Me and my friends were sitting there for 5 minutes until I had called someone for drinks. The food we ordered were so so. For that kind of price tag you expected them to be better. The services were courteous when we'd got it and we still had to pay 12.5% of service charge. It would be the last time we go there!
Gets better and better
Charlottes W5 is situated 5 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway station and close to bus stops. Worth a visit if you do not live in Ealing. Has a great vibe, busy, good lighting, food on Saturday was sensational with service to match.
I've been to W5 several times and I'll probably return because it's local. This time I went was only because I couldn't find anywhere else that would accept an Opentable Diner's Cheque, so thank you W5 for that!
I'm afraid on this occasion I chose poorly. I didn't enjoy my bruch of French toast and won't go into detail here since there will be other diners who do enjoy it.
Generally staff are very friendly and the almond croissant was VERY nice.
Nice food, good service
Sitting in front of the kitchen is rather noisy
We’ve been fans of Charlottes Place for years and has taken a while to try W5
Great cod and ok beef BUT Raw roast chicken and very tough lamb rather ruined this meal
Moderate wine list but looked like good cocktail choice.
We tried this place for a family brunch, but it turned out to be pretty average compared to the expectations of a Charlotte brand.
Nothing fancy or really nice stood out, food was cold, juices were from the brick i.o. fresh and the service was incredibly slow.
thanks to the whole team to making a rare family reunion extra special very well looked after by the manager and the lovely waitress, food exceptional, ambience just right, Hospitality to the max ,Thanks! Marc
Since the menu changed from the initial tapas experience with different sized plates , the quality of the food has reduced. We used to bring friends from all over London to W5 but now we just don't think there is anything noteworthy anymore. Very disappointing!!!
so fab I came back with friends for brunch the next morning..
Always a good place for a relaxed meal. Friendly staff and good service. Bit disappointed in the main course choices this time but the steak I had was excellent.
Great music and atmosphere for Sunday brunch. Excellent staff and quality of food.
Came to Charlotte’s for Sunday brunch - great atmosphere and the food was yummy! Will definitely be returning - my new favourite place in Ealing!
Great venue . Excellent service and food .
Food is not up to par, really bland and overpriced unless you are able to have the brunch menu or early dinner menu. We waited more than 20mins for someone to take our order while sat in the bar area on a Saturday afternoon Which meant we were 5 minutes over the cut off point for the early menu and they wouldn’t allow us to order which I thought was poor service.
Pls add creamed spinach to the menu to accompany the steak
The staff were very friendly, the food very good & the evening good value overall
Continues to live up to its reputation as the best restaurant in Ealing. Great food, setting, service etc
Excellent food, high quality and exquisite flavours. Loved the creative cocktails, and the friendly attentive "on-it" service. No cash, only takes cards (not a problem for us). Overall first-class.
Good food and great service, as usual W5 didn't disappoint!
Staff were really friendly, the place is well located and the building is full of history. Unfortunately, I was not expecting to be given so less in the plate, I didnt go for a taster menu but it felt like one. Quality was met, not quantity
Our waiter was excellent! Friendly, fun and attentive. The food was very tasty, well presented and met all of our dietary needs (carnivore, veggie and vegan). The decor was lovely. We lingered over our coffee at the end and when we asked for the bill a waitress brought us more tap water. It was as if she knew exactly what we were thinking. It’s rare to receive great service in London. Hugely impressed.
Great food, a bit pricey but great quality. Service good overall except for the main waiter which was a bit moody.
The waitress that served us was rude and dismissive. She made myself and others feel like we were a nuisance and quite frankly not welcome.
She practically threw the bill onto our table and removed things from our table without asking if we were finished with it.
It was so bad we refused to pay service charge.
This wasn’t my firs time in Charlotte’s (I work directly opposite so I’m in here fairly frequently for team lunches/meetings/coffee/after work drinks), however it was my first time for a proper sit down meal. I’d heard good things about the brunch and so that’s why I chose that time of day to visit.
I have to say I ordered the full English and I wish I hadn’t, not because it was bad but because the dishes that my friends had were far more appetising. I had a massive case of food envy.
The service is always second to none and the atmosphere is chatty but you’re not deafening. Would recommend to others and will definitely be back many more times I’m sure.
Just great service, and cocktails!
10stars for the staff
