Charlotte's W5 Ratings and Reviews
It was a Monday night and the restaurant was pretty quiet, which was fine. There was a gin tasting going on and a couple lively groups doing happy hour / drinks. We were there for dinner. In order of consumption by our table of three - the craft cocktails were unanimously agreed delicious, a couple Old Fashion's, a Negroni and a taste of the unique milk-derived Black Cow vodka. Next we did some bread, butter and olives -- nothing special, but tasty. We also tried the starter Red Onion Tart, which was deconstructed, good but at first I thought we had the wrong dish. Ravioli, Rib Eye and a Fillet Steak were our mains with Chips and Broccoli shared as sides -- all very good, well seasoned and cooked properly. The triple-cooked thick chips were simply amazing. The bernaise sauce for my fillet, served on the side, was delicious -- I was dipping chips in it. Two of us ordered dessert, the brownie with ice cream and rice pudding -- both were good, but the brownie was served cold, while warm it would have been much elevated. All in all a great meal and a decent value for a Bib Gourmand restaurant.
Family meal for start of uni celebration- some fussy eaters but nothing too much trouble for W5. Charming service by lovely guy who also mixes excellent drinks behind bar . Genuinely tasty salad, good bavette steaks and gnocchi all excellent. Buzzy atmosphere and great interior.
Charlotte's W5 is a wonderful restaurant that I have been visiting regularly this year. This is simply down to the extremely tasty breakfast menu and the outstanding service received.
You are waited upon with such professional and friendly service with an unpretentious attitude. Whatever your request may be the staff here do their utmost to ensure that your time within W5 is spent comfortably.
I have had just One bad experience here and that was on a bank holiday, where you can tell that the restaurant was very busy, maybe to the point of not being able to quite handle a full restruant? I have only visited W5 when it is calmer, so I feel that maybe the kitchen was overwhelmed, and since it's my Only bad experience I doubt it happens on a regular basis.
IF you do have an unfavourable time here, do not feel that you are unable to speak up to the management. They are polite and courteous.
The food, breakfast wise, is great. It's filling and does not cost much at all. Value for money at its finest here.
I would totally recommend W5 to anyone who loves a proper breakfast.
(*ahem, but Charlotte's Bistro definitely has a better dinner menu I'm afraid!!)
We are now regulars and had a great time as always. Plus, after the guys found out it was my birthday they treated me and my husband to a dessert. What a wonderful gesture! Food, service, drinks - everything was as good as we're used to and it's no wonder we keep going back. And this little birthday treat made it even more special.
This is a new manifestation of Charlotte's W5 and I made the mistake of turning up at original restaurant by Ealing Common only to find that my booking was for this huge new venue underneath a new housing development. The new restaurant lacks the cosy intimacy of the Ealing Common restaurant. The food was OK but maybe my appreciation was hampered by my not liking the barn-like interior. I also wonder whether if when several hundred covers are being catered for the dining standard which I formerly enjoyed at the old Charlotte's can be maintained. A good selection of wines by the glass however.
Been many times and this surely one of the most memorable visits. Made to feel very welcome from the beginning - sorry I don't know name of manager who we want to thank for the prosecco and for replacing it when spilled! Waitress fantastically professional and very entertaining without intruding - amazed to find out she has only been there just over a week. Food very good as always - very high standard for the prices - and nice to see some new dishes. Only sorry we'll be leaving Ealing in a couple of months as Charlotte's W5 has really gone from strength to strength as far as we're concerned - not afraid to make changes.
