Great food and service! A real gem and shocked this place isn't busier as the food is always excellent!
The food was served ten minutes after we sat down, the restaurant was empty, the food was only luke warm and obviously microwaved so no, I would not recommend it. I have decided to cook my own roast in future!
Great menu and good food. Ambience and restaurant layout was really super. Fantastic wine selection and service was brilliant. Had a fantastic evening thanks to Chelsea bar and Brasserie!
From booking to paying the bill was 1st class.
I would point out that the drinks were over priced though ( G&T)
Food was fantastic but service was poor and order was wrong on food and drinks a few times! Would go back though as the food was great!
We were given this as a Christmas gift from sister. Very friendly staff & greeting. Service very prompt. Food good, not as hot as it could be. Although described as a "traditional"roast it's not, as the meats are not from a roasted joint. However, the meat , whatever method it was cooked was very good! Puddings delicious especially the ice-cream, which the waitress said was the chef's own made!
Great food. Great place. Arrived after a day at the races. Staff were very nice even though some of our party didn't make it
Had a really enjoyable evening. Absolutely great food and excellent service.
After a wet day at the races and shopping 4 of us had an extremely good meal in a vibrant atmosphere with good service. A definite return when back in Cheltenham
Great night with great food....
Really enjoyed the food with some great cocktails
Was nt worth the full price but as we had a groupon deal was fine
We didn’t have time to stay long as we had other arrangements
Slight concern how quickly food came out which always makes us suspicious of being cooked way ahead of time and then just microwaved
The staff were friendly. Some of the food was a little disappointing. The batter on the tempura prawns was far too thick.
What a lovely place, we had never been before. But certainly will come again with our grown up children! Thank you. Very nice food, friendly service,
Impromptu Saturday night out, good menu choice, atmospherenjoy and staff attentive.
Fabulous place, excellent service from Paula & Dave, extremely good value & superb food. All in all a great experience & Id definitely recommend it
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has a calm relaxing atmosphere to it. We where lucky and it was jazz evening - amazing music and singing.
The service was top notch - nothing was too much trouble and all our needs were catered for. Our 6 year old wanted a kids menu but they didn't have one but chef made him what he wanted - spaghetti bolognaise!!
The food was Devine and all cooked to perfection, plated beautifully.
This is a must go and have a meal place!! Highly recommend it to everyone
Can't wait to go back !!!
Lovely food and place to eat. Staff were friendly and food was exceptional
Friendly, fun , on trend lovely food ! Good time had by all !
Very friendly staff, just not the ambience we expected sadly. Food was well presented but average. But can't fault the staff they were amazing
Fantastic service. As we had never been to Cheltenham before we could not find the restaurant. My daughter rang and explained where we were and the manager came out to meet us in the pouring rain I may add.!!! Took our coats from us when we got inside and the service was excellent throuout. Had the 3 course lunch menu and it was excellent value as it was only £12.95. Big size portions as well . Would certainly go back if visiting Cheltenham again.
Good menu on a busy Saturday evening, great service after a slow start. Ambience marked down as large Christmas party were noisy with high pitched screams thrown in for good measure but hey ho its nearly Christmas and short of chucking individuals out what can a restaurant do.
My partner and I had a beautiful meal on Friday evening. There was a good selection on the vegetarian menu. We were there early so not very busy, that said it was still a lovely atmosphere
The waiters were very polite and friendly and professional. They provided a high chair as requested in advanced and ensured there was an area to change our baby. The only reason for a four not a five is we had to ask for the dessert menu. Service went quiet after lunch was served and we weren't asked if we wanted anymore drinks. Though we had a groupon voucher we took the opportunity to have more.
It was my first visit with my sister for lunch. Had the set price lunch, good selection, tasty hot meal, good value for money, good portions. I've booked again with my partner
Lovely looking restaurant, friendly staff but food disappointing.
Excellent food and excellent service. We dined on a Monday and they had live jazz, so really added to the occasion. Food was served swiftly, although not too fast, and was beautifully presented.
Great ambience - will definitely go there again.
Service was good and staff friendly but food was ordinary and very expensive for what it was.
Had a lovely relaxing evening. Food and cocktails were great and the staff were very helpful.
Went for Sunday lunch having bought a living social voucher for 4 people for £17. Bill came to £61 having had 4 starters at £5.95 each, a bottle of wine £16.95 & a small white wine spritzer. My partner paid the bill which also included a £10 tip, not realising I'd already paid for the voucher so all in all very poor value for money and I now wish I hadn't taken the deal. Will not go back.
Second time we have been and both times the food has been excellent and the service outstanding
Enjoyed a good meal at the Chelsea bar, the two course lunch menu was exceptional value, good portions, well prepared and served. The service was a bit haphazard, and we had a slight dispute over the bill at the end, apparently the till wasn't working properly, hopefully others won't have the same issue.
Food ok but the service was super fast and too impersonal
We booked on Open Table for Monday evening and were pleasantly surprised - it was jazz night and there was a really good singer and little band there. The service was excellent & food & drinks even better. We enjoyed it so much we stayed far longer than expected and sampled a good few of the cocktails it was a memorable night on all counts and went on our list to return to. The opportunity to return came sooner than expected and we booked once again via the Open Table app. It was the night after our 1st visit and we were looking for somewhere to eat as we were staying in the town for one more night. We knew it would be busy as a race meet was on so were really pleased to see that there were tables available on the app. We promptly booked for an early sitting. We got to the restaurant looking forward to a repeat performance and thinking about what cocktails we would have. On arrival we were told that they didnt have our booking. I explained i had booked via the app about an hour previous and showed them the confirmation. They said that the app hadnt been updated and they were full, they couldnt help us. The restaurant was empty at the time (it was early) and whilst i appreciate they may have had several bookings due, i think they could have done something to help us. We told them we had been the night before and were really dissappointed - also asked why the Open Table app still showed as vacant slots - the staff didnt seem overly bothered and simply told us, that no they couldnt help us and it was unfortunate that the app was wrong, This left us with a really bad impression of the place which is so sad given the great night we had had the previous evening What a shame that that the same lovely staff werent there the 2nd night, maybe they would have been more helpful. Luckily we went into the Thai restaurant right next door, who were also fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us in and let us have a table for an hour and some lovely food.
Excellent main courses and wine. Starter and dessert were lacklustre
A great place to meet our friends ... there's a comfortable lounge/bar area to have a drink before moving into the restaurant for dinner. The menu is varied, extensive and reasonably priced. The wine prices are not excessive and the service is always excellent and very attentive.
Having previously visited The Chelsea Bar & Brasserie I had no hesitation in taking some friends there last Friday ... and we weren't disappointed. The food was very well presented and the service would have put a number of 3 star restaurants to shame.
A great evening out ... The Chelsea Bar & Brasserie is to be recommended.
Me and my partner had a meal here for my birthday and were extremely impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and the rare steak was so perfect I didn't even touch the accompanying sauce. Ambience was very good considering it was midweek in January and the meal was very good value using our Taste card.
I would highly recommend a visit as the service, food and value are outstanding!!
The drawback of having a birthday in December is that going out for a meal always clashes with everyone else's Christmas party. This restaurant was great the first time I went. This time it was extremely busy and noisy, with huge groups on their Christmas parties. As a consequence we waited a long time for both our starters and our main courses. The food, however, was lovely. And after making a comment about the slow food, we were awarded a complimentary glass of Prosecco each. I would eat here again, just not in the middle of December.
Eight of us ate here for an evening meal after my son's graduation. Everything about the place is lovely - great ambience, attentive and friendly staff and the food is really great. Of particular note, the steaks and the ice cream with the cheesecake! Oh and the mango and chilli cocktail.
If you have a special occasion or want a great romantic setting this place is perfect. Highly recommended.
Using the online booking system, I was able to let the manager know I was booking a table for my husbands surprise 40th meal out. The table was set with a helium balloon and a card signed by the staff - something greatly appreciated and certainly not expected.
The food was sublime, beautifully presented and served at a perfect pace to match the evening. The staff were friendly and answered all our dietary questions and requests.
A wonderful evening. I will definitely be dining here again and highly recommend The Chelsea Bar and Brasserie to everyone.
