At Chez Bruce we are not particularly into gadgets and tricks in the kitchen. Home-made charcuterie, slow cooked braises, offal, warm and cold salads, classical desserts and bread-making could be listed as specialities. We also take the cheese board very seriously indeed and it forms an integral part of the restaurant's day-to-day life.
The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.
Slow to take our wine order (the starters arrived and we had no wine...).
Gave us complimentary glasses of port to compensate, which was a nice touch.
Amazing food, fantastic service. What more could you want?!? This is now one of my most favourite restaurants in London.
We all love Chez Bruce and the food was as good as ever. However, we found our waiter a little curt and not up to the usual CB light but polite approach.
My Partner and I went here for our anniversary dinner. The food was fantastic from start to finish. The lobster ravioli was out of this world. The way the cheese board is presented is a highlight. The only slight blemish on the food was the epoisse was slightly over ripe.
Service and staff were delightful, this place really is a great choice if you want to spoil someone.
Amazing as always. One of my favourite restaurants
Fabulous food, as always - nice atmosphere, not too noisy despite being pretty busy on a Friday lunchtime.
Another amazing experience at Chez Bruce - on every level.
Amazing food and service! Would highly recommend for a special occasion
Excellent through and through. Service in particular stood out.
Amazing food and service. The best dinner I’ve had in a long time.
Birthday lunch. Had a great time. Staff were very friendly and attentive
Fantastic food as usual, I don’t really want to be negative however the service wasn’t up to standards and the gap between a few weeks before at Trompette and this visit was huge. We waited 45 minutes for the first course to arrive and considering there seemed to be perhaps 10 covers that seemed strange in itself. And please serve butter at room temperature! Or provide a blow torch.
All joking aside would obviously come again and this isn’t a common occurrence, in my 5 or 6 visits over the years it hasn’t happened before.
This is the place I will always recommend to go to when I leave the UK! I really am so happy about everything and they truly deserve more than my 5/5. Thank you so much for a amazing heart full service.
Fabulous evening as hoped and expected. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for years as had heard so much about it. I wasn’t disappointed. The food was great and the service likewise, overall an evening to remember.
As always, excellent food and attentive service from the table waiter. Slow wine service and with attitude. Seemed a shame. Could have spoiled an excellent lunch - but it was rescued by attentive management! It won’t stop us going back.
Impeccable lunch at Chez Bruce, as always. Menu was excellent and we chose perfectly. And the children were made to feel right at home and very special - my 4 year old thought the broccoli was the best part of her dish! Sorry chef!
Fast becoming our go-to weekend celebratory lunch spot and already looking forward to coming back.
A fantastic meal, every course was amazing! Best meal of the year... 2019
Innovative, fresh and envronventally concious menu that excited the taste buds and delivered on all counts. Fantastic cheese board too. Our 4th visit, with them meeting our high expectations. Thanks everyone!
From reception to departure the experience was nothing less than first class. The serving staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the food, what an absolute treat.
Another outstanding meal at Chez Bruce. You really can not beat the quality of food and service combined. It’s definitely worth the short journey from Central London and is now one of my firm favourites. The little touches make a real difference - the little bags of shortbread and truffles for one. The standout for me is the cheese selection which is amazing and always changing!
Trying to assess what was the outstanding dish or element from dining at Chez Bruce is impossible for me. Everything stands out as perfection, food, wine, the attentive staff that are never overbearing, the space itself. It all ups to a beautiful sensual dining experience.
Food reliably excellent
It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration and we were made to feel special from start to finish. Food and service were excellent throughout and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our experience there. It will be a family favourite from now on.
AmaZing meal and service. It was my partners birthday and he has wanted to come back for a while. He was over the moon.
Very good all round - food and service - and cant be faulted but at a price, which is a bit on the high side.
Fantastic experience for our anniversary - made us feel very special and had a lovely brownie on the house! Free corkage on Sunday also a great touch for those who want to maximise spending on all the delicious food!
5th time visiting Chez Bruce and it keeps getting better! Service is incredible, food even better, can’t wait to go back already.
Fantastic food, across a great menu. Slightly more wholesome portions than some other michelin stars! Worth a trip for sure.
We come back to Chez Bruce time and again for special occasions. The food is always magnificent. The staff attentive. The atmosphere lovely. Never fails !
This was a special occasion so I thought we would try this famous restaurant but I wish we hadn’t bothered.
We were located upstairs away from the main restaurant in a small but impersonal room, fair enough, when they called to confirm my booking they said we would be upstairs but it was too late to rebook somewhere else. I did say that I had booked two months ahead of time to get a good seat and was told it was because I had booked on the internet!
Starters were good, main course (Côte de boeuf) was a little overdone, desserts were mixed (Bakewell tart - good, Chocolate pudding was too glutinous to enjoy.
Top tip, book direct over the phone and you may get a prized seat downstairs...
Chez Bruce manages to maintain its standards over so many years, with interesting updates to the menu.
They make lovely food with the minimum of fuss.
A little disappointed overall. Food was good, very good, but not excellent. Ambiance was OK and noise levels very high. Good value for London. Excellent bread! Good service and nice wine list with markups of 3x. Was expecting more.
Fantastic service, lovely food. Superb advice from sommelier. Cannot fault this place - never fails to deliver.
Fantastic meal Chez Bruce! All dishes from starter to dessert were fantastic, in particular the gazpacho and strawberry trifle. Staff were lovely and attentive. Will definitely come again, probably very soon!
Best steak we’ve ever had. In the smaller dining room upstairs- intimate, quiet, wonderful.
Chez Bruce is among our favourite restaurants. The food is always excellent and the service 'just right'. We love it and will go back again and again.
As amazing as ever. Faultless service, the most fantastic food. What more can you say. Brilliant
As usual, the staff were wonderful and served up the most fantastic food. It was a nice summer evening and it’s location us easy to get to with views over Wandsworth Common. It is one of our favourite restaurants and we will return there when we’re next in London
excellent food, good wine selection, fantastic cheese board - will return
Great as always.
