Chianti Il Ristorante
We eat here whenever we are in Saratoga. Service and food are excellent. I wish we were in town more often.
A friend of mine and I went there and had dinner. I ordered the penne with vodka sauce as a side dish for the both of us to share. Thought it was in the best I ever had. I had the Reale Beef Short Rib and it was very tender and tasty. My buddy had the Hudson Valley sliced Duck and he was very happy with his and this guy is the pickiest person I ever met when it comes to food. Although I like a smaller menu like they have there because that means to me that they really know how to properly cook the items on the menu I would have liked a little more choice in the vegetable and potatoes that were served with the meal. The food was great, we are definitely going back again. The only knock I have is, if it is just two people that the tables are ridiculously small.
Always great! We had an issue with our entree order but the server took care of it and brought a new dinner!
We went for a birthday celebration. The food was wonderful and the service was fabulous. The place is a little noisy but we managed to enjoy ourselves thoroughly despite that.
Excellent restaurant in Saratoga the food is always fantastic highly recommend you won’t be disappointed
Chianti: only farm raised fish, too much salt, no noise absorption otherwise above average enough
When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the noise level was high, however we requested a table outside where it was much quieter. We were seated quickly, even though we were a little early for our reservation and it was crowded. The food and the service were both excellent. Our waiter, John, was terrific. The food was very well done - delicious. I had the pork shank special, and it was terrific. My friends each had a different dish, and everyone remarked on the quality of the food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was incredible and the service was amazing.
Sadly disappointed-upon arrival we were seated in a back room next to a table of 17-when we asked what time they were dining we were told 6:30-7:00. Our reservation was for 5:45, thought we had enough time before their arrival. Within in 10 minutes they arrived and the noise level in the room went off the scale so we asked to be moved and were seated at an outside porch table. Our waiter arrived quickly and took drink orders for 2 of the 4 of us and seemed to forget there were 2 more people at the table. Appetizers (salads) were good but the pasta was fair. It was barely warm and my husband and our guest said there was no lobster in the lobster dish. Our wine arrived when our meal was almost over although I could see it sitting on the bar waiting to be served. When we asked for the check it arrived but sat at the table for 15 minutes before being processed. I've always loved Chianti's but will consider other venues when dining again.
Our dinners were excellent, the swordfish special the best I've ever had! Great service. Patio needs to add better cushions for those HARD iron chairs.
Overall a very good evening as we were able to sit on the patio and avoid the noise inside. Food was excellent ( especially the braised rabbit) prices were reasonable and service was OK. It was a very busy night and the restaurant was packed for happy hour And I mean packed and completely noisy to the point of shouting. We dined about 6:30 just as happy hour was ending and were not impacted because of sitting on the patio.
Great food and seevice
Place is always full of great energy
Seemed as if they were short staffed so service wasn’t exceptional - felt fast and rushed
awesome --- homey ---- simply precious -- PERSONAL CONTACT WITH THE CHEF adds a great deal to guests that I bring in.
Hard to hear in there. Very loud
Food was delicious, service was great.
We had all our favorites. Grilled octopus, quail and rabbit. The staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Great negronis. We really enjoyed our evening
I had not been to Chianti’s in several years. The food and service were amazing. The appetizer was delicious and served quickly. The mains were served piping hot. The only thing the dampened the experience was a female patron with an extremely loud and boisterous voice and laugh. That being out of the restaurant’s control, everything else was great.
Absolute Delicious Delight in Every way. Team Wil & Dylan we’re gracious, attentive and an appropriate floorshow throughout the evening. Every bite of each meal was sublime. Thank you for a GREAT Eve
First visit and noticed many locals staying with the pasta and risotto FYI
Always a great choice! The food is always fantastic!
This was our first visit here and all the dishes were very good. I had the veal chop which was excellent and my friend had fish and didn’t share with me, so I know it was good. Will come here every racing season now.
Enjoyed celebrating Debbies birthday. Food and service was excellent restaurant is beautiful the noise level is a bit high .
The overall ambience if the restaurant was very inviting. As expected, it was busy especially in the bar area since it's track season. Very nice staff and we had a great waiter. When seated in the dining area, my clients and I immediately noticed how overwhelmingly loud it was. We strained to hear each other the entire evening. The wine and cocktails were fantastic. Good menu but the consensus was the apps and main courses were underwhelming and forgettable. For what we paid, it was unfortunately not worth the money.
The food was outstanding. The waiters were overwhelmed - not enough of them. The noise level was untenable.
. Great service , excellent food. Made my weekend, the staff is very professional
We had a 9 PM reservation through the app open table. received a phone call a few hours before that you don’t do seating that late and we had to move our res to 8pm b/c we were told OpenTable screwed up. And then when we got there on time, we had to wait a long time to be seated. The hostess told us that it was the kitchen’s fault that it was backed up. But then when we followed up 20 min later she told us it was the table of guests fault b/c they were sitting for 2 hours and the restaurant was trying to get them to leave. I don’t think it’s proper or professional to put blame like that and it seems like they were just looking for excuses. The hostess told us that it was the kitchen’s fault the kitchen was backed up. I don’t think it’s proper or professional to put blame like that and it seems like they were just looking for excuses We were a table of 7 and taking up space at your bar and not all of us could sit. We keep having people bump into us b/c there’s not a lot of space to stand. I mentioned to the hostess she should at least for our trouble (none of it was our fault) give us a complimentary drink and she said she would check and we never heard anything after that. I think it’s terrible and very poor customer service that the manager didn’t even stop by our table to apologize.
Also my friend and I ordered one of your drink specials “strawberry daiquiri” (but not the traditional). It sounded good however our bartender had no clue what he was doing and kept asking how to make it and what glass to use. When he gave us our drinks it clearly didn’t taste good. Way too strong and barely any sweetness. He had to add things. we wound up giving the drinks to our husbands.
Also the noise level is really loud. You have to practically yell to the person sitting across from you if seated inside.
Authentic Italian. Buffalo mozzarella app was a winner. Orecchiete with oxtail ragout was outstanding! Risotto cooked perfectly. We'll be back the next time we're in Saratoga.
waited over 1 hour for our entrée and the food was not even hot. overall after several years dining there the service and quality went downhill.
This was our first time visiting the current location - we had been fans of Chianti 20 yrs ago when it was at the old location. We were so excited to see the Shrimp pasta in lobster grappa sauce was still on the menu! It’s one of my favorites - rich and creamy with amazing flavor. One of my favorite Saratoga dishes!
We had a group of 9 & had excellent service and because of that, we took care of the server. The food was good for the majority of us - the mezzanine alla vodka which is my favorite, go to dish was very salty for some reason and the chicken was a bit dry. The fresh bread arrived at the table very warm which was a plus.
Amazing Amy at the bar is a sweet heart and our service waiter was off the charts !!!
What a pleasant surprise this establishment was! The Staff were phenomenal, attentive and friendly. We were in a rush to get back to NYC after the races and stopped in. The food was exceptional the Rabbit and Duck were spot on! I also was able to enjoy Happy Hour at the bar prior to our meal, the prices were fabulous and so were the appetizers! What a gem of a restaurant, I just wish We could of stayed longer and further enjoyed the fabulous atmosphere! Keep up the fantastic work and a Must Try!
Service was very good. Attentive, professional and friendly without being obsequious. Small example - I ordered a single glass of wine with entree. Even in most fairly upscale restaurants, it never arrives without reminding the waiter. Our waiter had it at the table with time to spare. Ordered a pork chop. Prepared absolutely perfectly. Most restaurants overcook pork due to outdated fear of trichinosis. Not so here. Kudos! My wife ordered beef ribs. She's a rib connoisseur and said her's were very good. Only complaint is the noise level. This place is loud - very loud. Bottom line - we'll definitely go back, with ear plugs.
Bread is great, service is fantastic, food yummy. A great meal fabulous appetizers and just noisy but they do have a quiet private room. Yummo
solid operation. tables fairly close together. food is good but limited menu lacking many old italian favs. more of an exotic menu with rabbit, octipus. pricey even for fine dining. decent wine list and nice feel to dining areas.
Excellent restaurant except for the noise level. Having eaten in hundreds of places the noise level here was close to unbearable. Food & Service were outstanding and as the night went on noise level decreased.
We have been dining with Chianti's since their original location. Over twenty years now. Always enjoyed the food and service.
This time was horrible.
I made reservations back in April for Travere's week.
We arrived on time, the hostess took us to a table in the bar area. It is extremely loud in the bar as to be expected. You cannot dining and hold a conversation at all. We ask if we can get a table in the dining room area.
The hostess said "no" because they had a large party coming in.
There where four 2 tops available that we could see at that time.
Upon leaving little over an hour later, 3 of the 4 tables for two where still sitting empty.
The hostess was young and she does not go out of her way the least for the customer. Acted like she was doing us a big favor by letting us have a table at all!!
For the brush off treatment, and additute she gave us, we will not be returning next year.
To many new places have open up who will appreciate our loyalty and business.
Noise just too loud, not good
Chianti is as good as always! Never a bad meal. Vodka penne is fabulous!
