Chianti Il Ristorante
We have been dining with Chianti's since their original location. Over twenty years now. Always enjoyed the food and service.
This time was horrible.
I made reservations back in April for Travere's week.
We arrived on time, the hostess took us to a table in the bar area. It is extremely loud in the bar as to be expected. You cannot dining and hold a conversation at all. We ask if we can get a table in the dining room area.
The hostess said "no" because they had a large party coming in.
There where four 2 tops available that we could see at that time.
Upon leaving little over an hour later, 3 of the 4 tables for two where still sitting empty.
The hostess was young and she does not go out of her way the least for the customer. Acted like she was doing us a big favor by letting us have a table at all!!
For the brush off treatment, and additute she gave us, we will not be returning next year.
To many new places have open up who will appreciate our loyalty and business.
Noise just too loud, not good
Chianti is as good as always! Never a bad meal. Vodka penne is fabulous!
We enjoyed the food and the outdoor patio was beautiful! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Didn’t do anything special even though we informed them on reservations
In Sarasota for the races with friends. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant was a little loud.
I was not impressed with my recent dining experience at Chianti. The service and ambiance at the restaurant were fine, but the food was just sub-par. I would not return or recommend.
Such a great experience! Food was delish, server was on point
Whenever we’re in Saratoga (usually once a year) we make it a point to visit Chianti II for dinner. The food is exceptional, with service to match. Our server (I couldn’t tell if he said “Bill” or “Will”, as it was packed and somewhat loud in the restaurant was tremendous; efficient and friendly, meeting every need without being intrusive. My filet was cooked perfectly, with delicious flavor. My wife’s fresh pasta dish with an ox-tail ragout (a special that evening) was equally wonderful. Topping it off with some delicious gelato for dessert made for another fantastic evening. Well done, Chianti II.
It was our last night in Saratoga and this place finished our trip on a high note. Very good service and very good food. The restaurant is a bit noisy but I like the vibe so it wasn’t a problem for me. They were busy and our food took a little while, which wasn’t a problem, but the owner graciously comped us some desserts for the inconvenience. I’ll be back next year for sure.
Service was excellent. Personnel were pleasant and food was like being in Italy.
Food was amazing, service was great but we were near the bar and it was VERY loud. It lovely but not necessarily somewhere to go for a romantic dinner.
The food and service was very good. The tables are too close together and the noise level was so loud that you had to shout to have a conversation which made the whole experience very unpleasant. We couldn’t wait to get out of the noisy place.
Food was great service very good. Kind of loud in the restaurant
Delicious specials and knowledgeable waiter. Very good.
My husband is hearing impaired and I had asked when reserving a table if we could be seated off to the side or by a window. We were placed in a very noisy room, with tables around on all sides. I had to ask to be relocated to a quieter spot so that my husband could hear me talking to him! The hostess was very gracious and put us at a much nicer location. The food and our waiter were both excellent . Because of the noise level, I cannot give more than 4 stars. I wanted a nice, romantic ambiance to enjoy my birthday, but this restaurant fell short in this department.
Your special pasta was certainly special/ as was the burata
When we come to Saratoga, it is our favorite restaurant to go to for dinner. We brought our friends with us this time but we have had a rehearsal dinner, Baptism dinners, birthday dinners, family reunion dinners etc. all there. This time did not disappoint either. We started with calamari, soft, tender, not greasy and perfectly cooked with a perfect tomato sauce paired with it.
My husband and I both had the hanger steak which was seasoned, tender and cooked to perfection with some excellent peppers on top which added an extra flavor to the plate. Our friend had the halibut special and said it was delicious. And our friend Barb has the short ribs, again raves about tenderness and seasonings. Our dishes were accompanied with tiger beans... first for us all and will not be our last.
Bravo Chianti, can’t wait to come back,
We came in on a Tuesday night during race season. Our dinner from start to finish was incredible!! We were seated immediately and all courses were served at a great pace. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended!!!
It never fails! Chianti is our " special place" restaurant. As always it was excellent.
This is a very big restaurant so it can get noisy. Lighting in the restaurant is good. We like the food very much. We split a hot eggplant dish similar to caponata. It was good. The shrimp risotto was excellent and a fricassee of rabbit was good though a little dry. Nice wine list. The wines by the glass were a nice selection and were all reasonably priced. They had a long list of Italian red wines including a very good Nozzole from Tuscany. Service was very good. Very good value and it seem like a very popular restaurant so reservations are definitely a must.
Always excellent, haven’t been disappointed yet. Thank you!
Great food, good service but very very noisy.==========================================
Food was not good at all. Every thing else was fine .my calamari was taste less and the osso bucco was dry and uninspired.
excellent, as usual. We had a very special meal from Fabricio, Orelli with black truffels. Way beyond every explanation. Very well done officer Al Dente, pls tell officer George Onzola I said hello... :)
The outdoor seating option is wonderful!
I go there every time I am in Saratoga Springs. Love it!
We were a party of 6 and it took one hour and 45 minutes to get our main course after the order was placed. Restaurant was way too loud for my taste but the staff was very friendly.
This is one of my favorite Saratoga restaurants! I always stop there when visiting. Love the Zuppa di Pesce appetizer. Escarole and canellini beans a bit spicy. If you’re thinking of eating here in August, make your reservation *well* in advance!
Very enjoyable evening, with delicious food and attentive service.
Great experience all around.
Extremely noisy, meal was average, server was good however
Date was 8/7
Very prompt and attentive service. Food is excellant
They sat us in the hallway, very dark and adjacent to restrooms. Waiter dropped 3 menus with no explanation as to contents. I had to walk to front for enough light to read wine list. Specials well presented, unfortunately my wife chose salmon which came out almost raw, inedible. Waiter concurred. Waitress took my wine glass before empty, she seemed peeved that I protested. We had a $150 gift card sitting in plain view, waiter presented check and read card for $100. When we corrected him he stated we should have told him even though check had not yet arrived.
We are Chianti preferred customers but nothing about Wednesday’s visit was preferable. Mr. Zecchini would not be proud of that performance.
Awesome food and service!!! Ask for Erica... she is the BEST!!
Chianti's is my favorite restaurant in Saratoga. It never disappoints. The service, food and hospitality is always 5-star!
We found the restaurant via Google Maps and made a reservation. We were welcomed by the hostess who cared about customers. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The servers made sure we had everything we needed and table was cleaned when done. The food was excellent!!! A great choice for Italian food.
Everything was excellent
Overall food was delicious. We ordered the grilled Octopus as our appetizer & for dinner, we all had pasta. Noise level was quite high but we were still able to hold a conversation. Wait staff was excellent! Price point was right on. Would definitely go back.
Our experience at Chianti II was very poor. We arrived on a Sunday night with a 6:15 pm reservation. We realized even before we were seated that the restaurant was extremely noisy. We were seated next to a table of 3 adults, 4 children under the age of ten and a new baby. The children were running all over and getting in the way of the wait staff. The adults were doing nothing to control them. Other diners were also disturbed by the commotion. We ate as quickly as possible and left after speaking to the manager.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food might be good enough but the overall experience was very unpleasant.
