I was dining alone, but I was treated nicely, while leaving me space. I was between two noisy parties, so next time I’d eat outside. More

Food was delicious...the burratta salad and bruleed cheesecake dessert especially. The restaurant itself is quite elegant, yet has a contemporary and relaxed vibe. The best part of the visit was the service. Our waiter from Belluno was charming, gave us our space, yet we became friends before the night was over. Hope to return on my next trip to Chicago! More

This is a marvelous restaurant to go to for a spe ial occasion or quiet business lunch. Located in an elegant hotel, one is greeted as soon as you step off the elevator. The two rooms are beautifully appointed with lovely dishes, chandeliers, andwhite tablecloths. Service is attentive and helpful. The menu at lunch offers something for everyone. But the 4-course express lunch is a reasonable an excellent option with a cup of french onion soup, small salad, "beef Wellington" and dessert. It was all delicious and just enough to satisfy anyone. Drink choices were varied also. Plus the restaurant proved a dessert with candle to celebrate my companion's birthday. I recommend this restaurant highly! More

The server was extremely professional and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. However, the hostess was not pleasant. The restrooms are inconveniently located below grade and require taking approximately 20 stairs down to the basement. More

A perfect experience! I was a solo diner, celebrating a special occasion and from the maitre’d to the waitstaff to a lovely chat with Chef Devon, everything was excellent and they made me feel welcomed and take. Care of. The vegetarian tasting menu will make even the most dedicated carnivore want to try these exquisite selections. I will back again with friends soon. More

The upstairs is to me very beautifully decorated. I appreciated the manager letting us seat up there in spite of being told that area was closed when we arrived. The menu was very limited. I was bringing with me an international colleague and felt bad about the very few choices on the menu. Lamb meatballs, as always, are very good. Burgers were mediocre, and the same with the chopped salad...charcuterie tray was nice. The chocolate chip cookies were very good. Drinks looked and tasted great. I did not get a detailed bill, which was weird by since I didn’t want my colleague to get involved in paying I didn’t ask for it. But it was strange that only my credit card bill came when Juan Carlos brought me the signing slip. More

George Trois

George Trois Magnifique Well, let’s get this out of the way - George Trois is an expensive restaurant, however, for that really special occasion, it was well worth it. After my girlfriend’s 66th birthday dinner, she walked away saying that the entire meal was ‘Magnificent”. I had made reservations almost two months in advance. The restaurant did make a phone call and send an e-mail as a reminder, which is always nice when the reservation was that far in advance. When you walk in to the door of the restaurant, you actually have three restaurants. Once we advised the host, we were seated at the bar in Aboyer. We actually observed them preparing our soon to be sipped - mojitos. Shortly after 6 p.m., we were taken in to the dining area (restaurant) that is George Trois. It is stark, white and everything is perfectly presented and placed. We were seated directly in front of the fireplace which was nicely light up. There are only five tables, though the evening that we were there, only four were utilized. There are 12 total courses and the total length of time was about 3 ½ hrs. Oh, and yes, there are no menus. We were seated by Alfredo, who was very personable, attentive & efficient during the entire meal. The cuisiniere, Chef Michael Lachowicz, serves each of the five tables individually and some of the courses, are actually prepared and describe while he is at the table. The sommelier assisted us in a wine selection and a riesling was chosen. We are not huge wine drinkers, so we decided not to go with any type of individual wine pairing for each of the courses. Chef Michael came to the table and introduced himself and started our dining experience with a huckleberry-jito, That was delicious and was the perfect start of the evening. I almost felt guilty having the Diet Coke from the bar still sitting on the table! The second course presented was white asparagus beignet with a spring pea soup. Each of the courses was perfectly timed and paced. The More

Discover Chicago

Winds whipping off Lake Michigan are no match for hungry Chicagoans in pursuit of the ultimate burger and a respite from brutal winters. Historically at the heart of the meat industry, the city’s slaughterhouses now house tony Michelin-starred restaurants, and deep-dish is just one of countless takes on Italian American staples in town. Arguably the American capital of molecular gastronomy, Chicago is at once a trendsetter and the capital of casual. Calling all carnivores.
