Great ambience and unique decor, a special occasion kind of place to make last memories
It was my mum’s birthday the staff made a special treat for her - a total surprise and a nice touch
Probably the best Chinese restaurant in London. Cheap it is not, but is worth the money. sumptuous interior design, incredibly friendly and efficient staff, and food simply to die for....
Food was amazing, service was amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed the experience . Tba k you
Food and service at table is great. Bar is terribly slow and makes bad drinks.
Excellent experience! Loved food, staff, wine! Will definitely return! Decor had a cool South Pacific vibe.
With so many restaurants offering limited Gluten free options, I was extremely impressed with my options. In fact China Tang made every effort in offering me all my favourites in Gluten free versions. There was no comprise on food flavour so a definite must for those looking for Authenic food with incredible choice. I have dine here now on many occasions and its time to leave such a positive review. Those with allergies, I recommend the food without question and of course not to mention the friendly staff and excellent service.
5 Star for me
We’ve eaten at CT on a number of occasions and it never disappoints. The service, food and ambiance are all excellent and we had a super meal as usual. It’s not cheap but offers a lovely experience for a special occasion.
Food was very average. The beef was not saucy - I would not be coming back as ambience wasn’t that great either and also deceor was very much for an older crowd. Not very modern
Excellent food. Fair prices. Service slow and spotty.
Food quality was average. Chai Wu or Hakkasan have much better food quality.
Outstanding in fact, needs no review! Lobster/ Spinach soup is a great starter and the duck is the finest in the World hands down.
It’s in the Dorchester so it’s fairly serious off the bat. It’s a beautiful space. The service was great. The food was equally so. It can get a bit loud given it’s acoustics but definitely worth the visit and on the list for a return next time in London.
Extremely disappointed with the food in this so called fine dining Chinese restaurant. Based on the interior decor and price of their menu you would expect the food to be amazing. The food tastes like a generic Chinese take away. If you would like a delicious up market Chinese meal, go to Hutong or Hakkasan. On another note, it seemed as if asian/black people were sat in the middle of the restaurant whilst white people were sat in the more cosy side end. This seemed very odd but not sure if it was just a coincidence. The middle section is extremely annoying as you constantly have waiters smacking in your seats whilst they walk.
The food was awesome, The ambiance was lovely.Had a great time👌🏻
Amazing quality food. Service was outstanding. Mixed meat platter delicious. We will definitely be back!
We love it there. In the face of so many options in London, we keep coming back to you. One important note: The little FRIED ONION APPETIZERS were disappointing. They contained virtually no onions, were just bland, bready, and not tasty at all. All the other dishes did not disappoint—were delicious! Your servers were superb!
Great place to eat. Food fantastic with the char siu pork from the specials menu highly recommended.
Staff were helpful explaining things from the menu and were pleasant and polite.
Not a lot else to say except you should try it.
The food was fantastic.
The restaurant looks elegant itself but having children around your table could be a bit noisy...
Food was fantastic. Service was good but not perfect and the ambience at little more noisy with tables quite close together than I would have expected at a posh hotel
Stunning, 5 out 5 on every level. The staff were courteous and you could tell they love what they do.
My guest requested for recommendations as we wanted to try something new and different, the outcome was uncontrollable gust of woaaahhh on every bite.
The aubience was cool and enchanting.
The portions was befitting of the price tag. Outstanding value for money.
Lovely, definitely going back.
The Restaurant was busy as a good restaurant should be. Staff were very polite . Food was par excellence and for a Chinese restaurant the wine list was extensive. We love to visit again .
Excellent Chinese cuisine. Good service and ambience was excellent. Best roast Duck and prawn dish with garlic was very tasty. Steamed fish with chillies melted in your mouth.
Great for special occasions.
Another fine afternoon at China Tang. Running a little late due to demonstration and transport disruption outside; however, all calm at the restaurant. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lunchtime set menu. Only "wrinkle" was some spilled wine, all rectified very efficiently by the staff. After lingering over tea, coffee and petit fours, the madness outdoors had dissipated and the efficient Dorchester lobby staff arranged a cab to Victoria to send us safely en route back home. Look forward to returning.
Too busy, cramped and noisy. Service was very good though.
I had requested a "nice table" (for two), but did not get it. We were stuck between two noisy groups - certainly was not what I expected. Tables too close to each other and tables had to be moved for the neighbouring guests to get out.
Always amazing! The duck is just the best in London, if not the world 😉. Great job Sir David and team.
Forth visit fantastic food service impeccable
Cant wait to return
I took my boyfriend for his Birthday meal as a surprise but we just didn't feel the quality in food or service.
The food wasn't as flavoursome as I remember it being previously and the service wasn't amazing. It felt as if they wanted to just feed us and get us out.
When we asked for recommendation on noodles we were told which ones were nice but nothing to suggest that the main we had ordered wouldn't go well with them.
The meat sizzling dish we ordered hardly had any flavour it just looked good but that was all. We listed a chicken dish with chilli and that was just so dry.
The starters were also standard apart from the salt and pepper prawns which were nice.
Overall I don't think I would recommend or go back for food.
This is a lovely restaurant. The dishes are well made and it is the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner.
A couple of great dishes but overall nothing to separate it from Hakkasan or Yauatcha. Poor service for a restaurant that was only half full.
We have been a few times and always really liked it. This weekend the service was appalling. We sat for 45 mins without even ordering our food. Very disappointed. My husband complained to the front desk and they sent someone over.
We were assigned various waiters (a shift change i presume) during our lunch which meant there was a lack of communication/information lost.
We were served half of our main dishes and then told that the kitchen needed an additional 20 minutes to provide the rest meaning we had 2 dishes with no rice/noodles to eat them with.
We had to remind the restaurant several times that we needed our second course of duck.
Overall service was extremely disappointing for a restaurant of this calibre.
The place has a great ambiance... we have been there many time for dim sums and lunch but this was the first time we went for dinner.
Great place for dim sums but I wouldn’t rate it for normal dining! I also feel the service isn’t that great despite the amount of staff present!
Brilliant service, excellent food. Perfect for sharing different dishes so everyone can try something. Main dishes were good portion sizes, and starters were decent sizes. We ordered 2 deserts to share between 3 of us so perfect amount. No food was wasted!
Very bad service, amazingly slow, we had to wait meals forever and nobody refilled glasses and nobody came to the table, never ever again
We had an amazing dinner. The whole experience was great. This was our first time and loved every second. The staff were helpful and very friendly. We’re definitely returning.
The ambience was very nice. Service excellent and the Peking duck was perfect!
perfect evening celebrating friends 60th birthday. the manager and the rest of the staff went beyond the call of duty to satisfy our needs.
The food was good but the service was not as attentive as you would expect from a restaurant in the Dorchester. V international clientele which was wonderful.
I chose this place to try out dim sum and it was fantastic. We will be coming here again.
