There is no fusion of dishes nor compromise on classical recipes, all are prepared with the freshest ingredients and traditional spices and flavourings. No mono-sodium-glutomate (MSG) shall be used.
The decoration of China Tang will evoke a romantic sense of art deco of the thirties in line with the general architecture of the Dorchester Hotel. At the same time, there will be an abundance of Chinoiserie as well as a collection of art from both.

Very dark, very noisy, food not special and not enough for the price - I kept getting bumped by the waiters as there wasn’t enough space between the tables - the bill was incorrect as was charged for too many wines, didn’t appreciate the 12.5% service charge added - so won’t be going again or recommending it
Quality of food is awful. Tasteless and was served cold. Very poor presentation. Very disappointed in the whole experience. I would neither return or recommend this restaurant. I have had better quality of Chinese food from street stalls and that’s no lie. Don’t waste your time or money. The staff also leave a lot to desire, none of them look like they enjoy working there, a smile was hard to find !
The food did not correspond to the price we paid. The table we were given was in front of the door of a very busy kitchen. The general noise was so high that I had difficulty in hearing my dinner guest when speaking.
Normally we eat in the bar as it has a very good vibe. The service in the bar is exceptional. On Saturday we ate in the main dining room. The food was very good however the service was poor. We felt like we were rushed. The service was just not where it should be. Looking forward to eating in the bar again next year.
Superb food!! Definitely recommend this place for a fantastic meal
The service could be a little improved when it comes to drinks... One drink I ordered never came and then second one took longer than I would've liked. Otherwise, our server was very good especially when advising regarding dietary issues.
Fab. My sons birthday staying in hotel for two nights the lady serving us helped make choices she was brilliant sorry I did not get her name
Absolutely amazing, second visit here with my wife and this time we started with the Peking duck. This was the best yet! Great service and ambiance for a great memorable occasion. Loved it.
Just fantastic and 100% consistent in all areas, food quality and service just impeccable. Always unique!
Lunch from the set menu. Excellent value and a bit more substantial in the emain course than what I remember from previous visits.
THE STEAMED SCALLOP is must have, so fresh and delicious, we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the reataurant.
Excellent food and ambience as always, the service however was very slow towards the end of our sitting as they became busier. We asked for the bill multiple times before it arrived.
Not impressed by the food at all.
quite overrated place for Chinese food there are many good places to check out which are really good
Dim sum was tasty and of a good quality. Peking Duck was excellent - crispy skin, tasty meat and not overly oily and not too dry. We ordered the extra duck soup course, and that was the highlight of the meal really as the soup was thick, nutritious and very comforting (typical HK-style brewed soup). Our table also ordered a portion of char siew roast pork, which was delicious. Chilli oil (much neglected by most London Chinatown restaurants) was clearly superior. China Tang is pricey though, but we were very satisfied with the meal. Restaurant was very busy at Sunday lunch - main dining hall was fully booked.
Beautiful restaurant and lovely bar but service was poor and very slow.
Absolutely love China Tang, great restaurant, lovely bar and fabulous staff
Such a good restaurant, walking from the front doors to your seat is an experience on its own!
The atmosphere is always lively but never too loud and the waiters are great. 100% recommend
Good authentic chines food but gets crowded and noisy. Good value considering the location.
As always fantastic food, new is that there are now less chinese and asian waiters and waitresses, which is a pity as it takes away a bit of the authenticity.
Also becoming a bit on the expensive side.
The food was disappointly average. At those prices and small portion size, you get better quality and value at the Michelin star restaurants Hakkasan & Yauatcha! Will not be returning!
It is always a pleasure to dine with you. Whenever we are in London we try to have a meal there
Wonderful in every way
Very good for large parties looking for amazing food
Cooking not up to standard expected. Good portion Size but food nothing special.
We were given a poor service from the manager because we had asked for a good table in the middle of the restaurant when we reserved 2 weeks in advance through open table. We were given a table in a remote corner without any view. When we complained to the manager because there were other tables available we were told to wait 90 minutes and the attitude was embarrassing in front of our guests. we didn’t feel our request was being sympathetically dealt with. Instead he was sarcastic in front of the guests. This affected our experience of the dinner.
Had a delicious dinner at China Tang. Service was excellent, not too expensive £ 175 with wine for 2.
The restaurant is extremely noisy we could barely hear each other speak.
We went to China Tang for a birthday lunch, it was our first visit and we were quite disappointed with the quality of food in particularly given the price they charge. The food was overall nothing special.
My surprise was at the cost of diet coke £5 and orange juice £7.
Came here for my wife's birthday and had an amazing time. The staff was amazing and catered to all our needs and continuously checking in to see if we needed anything. Would recommend coming here for any occasion.
The food at China Tang remains top of the list. The peking duck is one of the better ones in town. The sweet and sour preparations are very tasteful. Good service. Sometimes the noise level is somewhat high.
The staff tries, with some succes, to listen to the customers ( my wife must eat glutenfree). This time we had a waiter who was particularly attentive for the glutenfree issue and he was very helpfull. Thanks.
Love this place
Food is exquisite
Service is impeccable
Favorite restaurant in London
It was a lovely restaurant however the portion was small - ordered lobster for 3 people it was the size for one person. nice staff very helpful but seemed like a factory all the waiters and waitresses waiting by the kitchen entrance for the dishes to serve, seemed crowded with the staff.
Really nice restaurant, with great food and good service. All the staff were really friendly.
Only issue I had was that the tables are quite close together and so it felt quite loud. Not necessarily somewhere you can have a quiet conversation but I would still 100%go back and recommend to friends and family
This is an old school Chinese restaurant with classic dishes, all the old favourites. However, they were tasteless and poor. Not as good as your average local Chinese and not in the same league as the newer modern restaurants (Nobu, Hakkasan etc). They brought out the wrong dish and the bill was wrong. Overall, a really disappointing evening.
Good food, great service! Would highly recommend. Goodkuck
Everything was outsanding but the wine offer could be improved
I was with my wife and other family members this time around. We had been to this restaurant on 3 or 4 occasions in October 2016 and enjoyed the food and arrangements. This time my grand daughter suggested we eat at China Tang as she enjoyed the rice dishes plus the seafood and vegetables. It was an excellent choice.
Absolutely appalling for both food and Atmosphere and way, way overpriced. We went for Dim Sum and were massively dissappointed with poor choice, size and taste of everything. Never again! Be Aware! This is the dirty secret in the base of the Dorchester.
