The decoration of China Tang will evoke a romantic sense of art deco of the thirties. At the same time, there will be an abundance of Chinoiserie as well as a collection of art from both.

Delicious as always
Food was great - absolutely delightful. The service was a bit lacking unfortunately, we had to ask 3 different members of staff to get the bill. Overall very good though, and would return again!
Good attentive staff both at bar and in restaurant
Best Chinese outside of China! No MSG aftertaste either!
Good quality food
A bit pricey
Service could be more attentive as we had to keep asking for our waiter
Lovely dinner at China Tang - the atmosphere and service were great. The dim sum wasn’t quite as good as I remembered but this was made up for by the duck and the mains which were excellent. Our waiter was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a leisurely meal over 3 hours.
This was my second outing to China Tang. Definitely much more lively on a Friday night! The food is solid, delicious and very memorable. We eat a lot of Chinese food, and China Tang is definitely a favorite when we come to London. Highly recommend the e-fu noodles with crab, the prawn dumplings and the scallop dumplings.
Friends in town
Dear Guest, I am so sorry to see you were disappointed by your recent dining experience. Please do email me direct at Nathalie.firstname.lastname@example.org with further details so that we may address any short comings as appropriate. We endeavour to ensure all our guest leave having enjoyed their evening and it is always very disappointing to learn when we have not succeeded. I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest regards Nathalie
Poor service all round- waiter seemed fedup- didn’t ask for any drinks once mains came- didn’t topup water in any of the glasses during the meal until the end- didn’t put napkins on our laps before food was served- didn’t bring starters (usually we have mushrooms or something to start off before our food comes but had to ask for them to bring- didn’t get offered desserts just given bill- and then when mentioned this to the manager he didn’t once say sit down and let’s have dessert or let me see what I can do for you- just said ok thanks for feedback- not happy with it if I’m honest especially when you pay for a service and don’t receive it- I feel standards have fallen or it could’ve just been a bad day
The restaurant has privately responded to this review.
Not for celebration dinner only for lunch
The service was quite hit and miss especially with the different waiting staff especially drinks waiters...had no glue
Lovely restaurant with excellent food - the scallops in black bean sauce were just delicious. We over ordered because there were so many dumpling choices & starters to choose from! Unfortunately didn’t make it to dessert....next time!
Best peking duck in london!!
As always one of the best chinese food and high quality in London
I expected a lot more from this restaurant, the food was pretty average in comparison to the prices. Ribs to start had barely any meat on, they cane so quick it was almost as if they had been microwaved. This wa recommended by a friend and I Was definitely disappointed.
Outstanding service! I love this place.
It was my mums birthday they gave us compliments macaroons and truffles!
I was expecting a high class restaurant. I was disappointed. The place smelt like sewerage. It was so distracting. Thankfully when the food came, the smell of the food was able to compete with the sewerage.
It was practically empty, but we did go at 4:30.
The food is nothing that you can’t pick up from any Chinese on any high street in the UK. Just at 4 times the price.
Not dreadful, but not a standard I would expect from a restaurant associated with The Dorchester
Dear Mr Page, I am so sorry to hear you were underwhelmed by your recent visit, the last seating at 4:30pm on a Monday lunch is not a particular popular time. Without prior warning to us, the main drains on Park Lane were being cleaned that day, which filtered into our fresh air intake and air handling unit. Understandably this will have impacted your enjoyment and will contact you direct on your email to put this right. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. kindest regards Nathalie
The worst Chinese restaurant in the town，
Dear Guest, I am so sorry you were clearly most dissatisfied with your recent dining experience. This concerns me greatly. I would be most grateful for further insight. Please do contact me direct on Nathalie.email@example.com. Kindest regards Nathalie Ford - General Manager
Excellent restaurant, fantastic dimsum and wonderful duck.
Beautiful food great service lovely ambience ..fine dining at its best
Squid was too salty. Food didn’t come in an order that made sense - we had requested starters and dim sum come first but the food just rolled out in a random order. Service was slow and the attention of servers had to be specifically sought although there seemed to be many of them on ground. The servers were however pleasant.
The best spring rolls and crab toasts we’ve ever eaten, that’s all!
All the rest was absolutely tasteless and poor, presented like the mess of a military canteen.
Experience not to be repeated at all
We went for Dim Sum on a Sunday night.
We took our 9 year old with us at an 8pm booking, we were told that we had to be out by 9pm with children under 10 however the entire time we were there there were tons of young children as well as a screaming baby who were still there by the time we left. Also the waiter we had didn’t leave us alone, but in a bad way, and it drove us crazy! Literally moving a candle an inch and moving glasses and cutlery around. I wouldn’t mind but he then insisted we reused the plate and cutlery from the starter for our main courses. Wasn’t the best experience considering it’s The Dorchester.
Dear Mr Bruin, Thank you for your feedback. Due to the limited word count available in which to reply, we have taken the liberty of replying by email to the email address you used to make your booking with us.
Noise level and screaming children on almost every table was crazy - perhaps only permit children on tables of 4 or less. Not a restaurant with any sophistication because of the clientele at the Dorchester.
Dear Bonnie, I am so sorry you were disturbed by the younger guests at the other 2 tables. On a busy Sunday evening the noise level can rise. It is our policy to welcome children under the age of 10 up to 9pm. I have shared your comments with our team, to see if we could have handled the situation better, although I note that both tables concluded their meal and left by the stipulated time of 9pm. I do hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you on another occasion.
The Resturant was loud and noisy with many guests changing tables and chairs and standing in the walkways which spoiled the ambient of the restaurant.
Recommend to sort the issues in the outside lobby prior to entering the restaurant hall.
I come to this restaurant more often but today was a real disappointment.
Terrible customer service and ambience. Just not good.
Dear Guest, I am most concerned that you found both our customer service and ambience lacking on your recent dining experience with us. I am truly sorry about that and would welcome the opportunity to look into what obviously went wrong on the night. I would be most grateful if you would be so kind as to contact my office direct on Nathalie.firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you. kindest regards Nathalie
Great food, fair service, not the best I have had but it is ok. Sat in the area downstairs, great environment, really good atmosphere and decoration, however, it is just during the meal I had seen a bug running across my table which made me decided that there are something wrong with the wooden tables, though after decided to change the table where I am sitting and the waiter came cleaned the previous table, I did not see the bug again though it was quite shocking seeing a bug running across your table just when you are having your meal. Will recommend for the food and environment though the cleaning is very worrisome.
Food waiter was ok but your wine waiter clearly didnt know basic dos and donts. Was very fast pouring up our bottle of wine and when it was empty and one glass too he took it away while one was still drinking. You cannot remove glasses and plates before evryone is done - just feels like you want to get us out. I do realise you want to sell more wine but the only thing that happens is that your guests get anoyed.
Perfect as ever!
Great Tuesday night ambiance - Food second to none
Lovely staff and excellent food. Have been many times and never fails to please and impress. Recommend highly.
Nice ambience, food was good but not excellent. Service was good.
Delicious soup dumplings, very fun decor and amazing service. Downside is the people at your neighboring table are likely to be dripping in jewels (too many tourists from countries with insane wealth disparity)
Amazing , China Tang has never disappointed us best Chinese in Town
The service food and setting were superb. My only complaint concerns the dress code. A dress code is outlined yet many patrons ignored it. Trainers, baseball caps, t shirts, jeans were all in evidence. For me the sense of occasion was affected badly by this and I would hesitate before booking for a special occasion. Either say there is no dress code or enforce it, obviously some clients would be put out but others would be attracted.
A shame to criticise because apart from the above outlined the evening was perfect.
This is the 3rd time that I have dined at China Tang and every time is gets better. Food and Staff are 1st class.
Very disappointing - cramped, inattentive service, food no better than a standard ChinaTown restaurant and all at Michelin star prices!
Very expensive, but decent food. Service was poor. Girl forgot main and dessert for all of us!
Awesome food and amazing staff! Love this! Its my seventh time eating at China Tang and it is indeed my favourite chinese restaurant in London!
Rice was late, venue too hot and food much less interesting and a lot more plain than Hakkasan (which is comparably priced)
