Lovely meal, had 3 courses and all of them were incredible. Staff were excellent. Food was slightly pricy but tasted really good.

We were given a table that seems to be unwiped as you can see lots of fingerprints around. Our first starter was placed on our table and by then the waiter noticed we don't have plates and cutleries yet. After 5mins second starter came. We ordered sides with our main course but we ended up eating it first as our main course arrived half an hour later. On the other hand, the manager I guess offered a complimentary glass of wine to compensate us. Our table were cleared and no one offered if we want a dessert. We need to ask for the menu again. It was such an awful evening for us. It was our first night in Nottingham and we were so disappointed. It's very pricy and we left the restaurant not even half full.
Great food as usual, we are fairly regular visitors to Chino Latino. Had temperature taken on arrival and then taken to socially distanced table. A little slow to deliver food at first but this is understandable in the current circumstances, when we mentioned the delay to the staff they were quick to respond.

Having been to the restaurant on many occasions I found this visit to be less of a special occasion. The menu was not as extensive as normal the food was only average yet the cost was the same.

We had gone to Nottingham to eat at Sat Bains' restaurant. On the 2nd night we decided to try Chino Latino.
This was a truly delicious experience. Great welcome from a young woman (it was her first night) and excellent service from our server. The menu was eclectic and it was difficult not to choose everything!
We are foodies and were a bit cautious because this restaurant is part of a hotel and that can mean variable quality. Not Chino Latino! It was really delicious - everything cooked to order. Even a couple of hiccups with items taking a bit of time didn't matter as it was all soooo good.
I'm seriously considering another trip to Nottingham so that we can visit this restaurant again.

Fantastic dishes , flavours complentary , the beef was succulent a real pleasurable experience. However on my return I would expect something more exciting on my desert platter .

2nd visit to this restaurant and chose the same set menu since we enjoyed it so much last time. Starters and mains were just as good as we remembered but the dessert was disappointing - defrosted cheap strawberry cheesecake instead of mango; chocolate orange fondant wasn't fondanty - it was overcooked; fresh fruit was fine but no sorbet. Restaurant was quiet and was very bare - presumably due to covid? Staff paid good attention to Covid safety measures - cutlery in sealed packages so cutlery not touched directly by staff. Tables well spaced. Friendly attentive service.

First time open in a while and under strange circumstances but the front of house staff were good help apologetic the food starters were awesome small plate was disappointing bland tasteless the mains while looking great tasting great served on cold plate puree with the salmon was stone cold and spoiled the dish how ever it is the first time we have had any disappointment so will be back and put it down to reopening teething problems hot food should not be served on cold plate
Hi, the starter was lovely, the wine was good apart from a bit expensive..... but the chicken Thai curry was terrible!!!! Luke warm and just stuffed full of vegetables that it was like a weak stew .......... + there was some sort of hair on one of the glasses!! 🤦♀️.. don’t think we will be going back for a long time or recommending..
I’m afraid very disappointed with everything, we were two of us for a Saturday evening meal , ordered bottle of white with the £45 tasting menu, service was slow, wine arrived and was warm, was put on ice at the waitress insistence, we asked for the manager to whom we have to explain the unacceptable fact that a £38 white wine bottle was tabled warm, he offered 3 alternatives we went for the mediocre same price Pinot Grigio, food arrived in a patchy way, the starters were Unpleasantly fridge cold, then waited long time for the mains, the meat was over cooked , we asked for medium rare, and the rest over spiced. Deserts were decent though. The worst, the atmosphere at first was lovely then around 9.45 pm the lights went up and they started setting tables up for breakfast, we were not yet finished with our meal, it looked as if we were kicked out from a busy Mac Donalds in the middle of nowhere. Definitely not worth £120. Service was reasonable and have to say polite, but perhaps management should consider better training for its staff, and better overall customer experience. Finally the toilets were shockingly dirty, too gross to explain in here. We were very disappointed indeed; we will not come back.

The food came out very random. The service from the waiting staff was also very poor.
Food was very good, service very slow though, 25 minutes after seating before we were spoken to again, even though we had no drinks on the table. Also has a lovely open kitchen, however this means you can watch the chef cough into his hand and observe him not washing his hands before handling more food.
Chino Latino is one of our favourite places and we travel around 30 miles to get there. We always have the Taster Menu which never fails to please on taste and presentation. On arrival at 7pm the pleasant Staff greeted us straight away and although the restaurant was quiet, which is how we like it, there was nice music playing in the background . The room had been given an update, table and chairs had been altered allowing more room between diners and the lighting had been lifted slightly so that you could actually see in there much better as it used to be really dark in there. One point to make is that when we first started going to Chinos we used to be given Vouchers off towards our next meal there, which encouraged you to go again more regularly. I would of given the whole experience 5 stars except that the Coffee Machine was not working which would of completed a lovely evening and meal. Definitely recommend and we will be back.
Distinctly average. Have eaten here before but not for some time. Struggling to think of anything positive to say. Expensive for what is a glorified hotel restaurant - service pleasant but poor. No effort to explain menu or dishes. Had to point out they did have the wine we ordered as it was in the bar refrigerator despite waiter claiming they didn’t have any.

Food was fine for our works do but had better here. Even though it was very quiet, bar service was very slow
The food is great indeed, however, the service is likely with some room for improvement. The junior servants, obviously less-trained served food neglecting whether customers have finished the food or not, but rushed to served all the dishes at the same time. Honestly, we felt stressed and uncomfortable with showing some emotions. A bit disappointed with not being noticed by them.
Plus, no one took care of our coats until we requested for a rack for them.

We went as a group of five and had a set tasting menu at a cost of £45.00 each. The staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could swap out items from the tasting menu (i.e., replace with items from a different tasting menu) and all courses were delicious. The restaurant has a good selection of food suitable for vegans and were happy to adapt meals for my husband who has a nut allergy. The only criticism I have is that as the meal progressed, the restaurant became busier and we had to wait longer than we should have between courses BUT having said that I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Food was lovely as I expected. Shame about the service. They were very friendly and polite but took forever to attract their attention once day at table , took a good 15 minutes to have to ask for a drinks menu to get another drink then after half an hour gave up waitibg to order another drink. As for the food which was beautiful in taste and presentation we were a party of three they brought one meal out then 10 minutes later no others but could see waitresses then taking meals out to other tables who had ordered after us. Surely meals should be brought out all together to each table. Got the bar managers attention and explained our annoyance who was very apologic and then went and brought our sides then other two meals. First meal.was cold.by then so had to ask for it to be reheated and ine of the other meal wasnt hot but my daughter wouldnt say anything. During whilst we were eating we asked for drinks menu as had drank the drinks we had taken to the table and the bottle of water on the table. Eventually given drinks menu but no follow up even after half an hour of waiting from the waitress. The service seriously let you down. I know you are having some refurbs on the 18th hopefully this includes looking ay your custoner service. Bar manager was very apologetic and did knock 20% off bill but didnt compensate really. First time at Chino Latinos after wanting to go there for the past few years and finally getting around to it. Wasnt even busy so cant even use that as an excuse for slack service sorry. Be it in the kitchen with chef not doing orders in order or waitresses not taking out quick enough you let your beautiful food down :-( was for my daughter's 35th birthday as well so double let down as was meant to be a perfect night for her :-( would recommend to a friend but would be telling them to be prepared to wait for everything. A friendly crew but just missing on the expectations and professionalism side of service

We used to visit chino Latino on a regular basis but we won’t be returning after our last visit.
We had to remind the waitress we ordered drinks. The food quality was way below average; the sushi for instance looked like it had been hacked to death! And the portion size was woeful, given the £21 price tag.
you could also overhear a large group of rowdy hotel residents in the bar area which really made the evening a disappointing one.
One restaurant to avoid
Some of the most delicious food I have ever had. I particularly recommend the beef tacos and the bok choy which were exceptional. Well worth the money.
Waited 30 mins to be told the wine we had ordered wasn’t in stock. Waited another 10/15 mins to get the second choice bottle. Had to remind the waitress about our order of water too. Well over an hour had passed and still no sign of any food, so my partner and I decided to pay for the wine which we had started to drink and leave, to take our custom elsewhere. Not something I have ever done before.
A real shame as this place used to be great with lovely food. Seems to have gone downhill quite dramatically since I last visited.
This was our first visit to Chino Latino. The staff are lovely, friendly and knowledgable although drinks service was a little slow. The food is excellent quality, good menu, nicely presented. However, there was zero ambience with bright overhead lighting all evening and garish coffee shop style tables and seating and the restaurant generally appeared ready for a refurb. There were people vaping at an adjacent table which was unpleasant. At a total cost of £56 per head for our group ( including 4 glasses but no bottles of wine ) we will probably not return as the overall experience was disappointing.
We always book for our family birthdays at Chinos - this was the first time they didn’t present the birthday boy with their signature plate with pudding and happy birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed the mains but found the starters rather disappointing - not like usual.
The food was lovely and have no complaints at all. The issue I have is we had a voucher for the value of £100 once we had finhsed the meal I asked for the bill, the waitress went off to get it then returned to our table to tell us the voucher covers it and we're free to go. At the time we immediately left, it wasn't until the following morning I decided to check the value of food and drink we had consumed, it came to a total of £91.50, I've found this very wrong as the staff took a £8.50 tip without our consent as I feel they didn't deserve a tip due to not asking us once how our meal was or even filling up our wine. Having known at the time the value of money left over we could have stayed for a drink at the bar.
