Amazing service and great food! Flavour was beautiful and nothing like we had tasted before. Thank you.
Lovely restaurant and lovely food.
However could had done with a few more menu options and a little more ambience. All in all, it was good value for money and would recommend it to others
We used to visit chino Latino on a regular basis but we won’t be returning after our last visit.
We had to remind the waitress we ordered drinks. The food quality was way below average; the sushi for instance looked like it had been hacked to death! And the portion size was woeful, given the £21 price tag.
you could also overhear a large group of rowdy hotel residents in the bar area which really made the evening a disappointing one.
One restaurant to avoid
Some of the most delicious food I have ever had. I particularly recommend the beef tacos and the bok choy which were exceptional. Well worth the money.
Waited 30 mins to be told the wine we had ordered wasn’t in stock. Waited another 10/15 mins to get the second choice bottle. Had to remind the waitress about our order of water too. Well over an hour had passed and still no sign of any food, so my partner and I decided to pay for the wine which we had started to drink and leave, to take our custom elsewhere. Not something I have ever done before.
A real shame as this place used to be great with lovely food. Seems to have gone downhill quite dramatically since I last visited.
This was our first visit to Chino Latino. The staff are lovely, friendly and knowledgable although drinks service was a little slow. The food is excellent quality, good menu, nicely presented. However, there was zero ambience with bright overhead lighting all evening and garish coffee shop style tables and seating and the restaurant generally appeared ready for a refurb. There were people vaping at an adjacent table which was unpleasant. At a total cost of £56 per head for our group ( including 4 glasses but no bottles of wine ) we will probably not return as the overall experience was disappointing.
We always book for our family birthdays at Chinos - this was the first time they didn’t present the birthday boy with their signature plate with pudding and happy birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed the mains but found the starters rather disappointing - not like usual.
The food was lovely and have no complaints at all. The issue I have is we had a voucher for the value of £100 once we had finhsed the meal I asked for the bill, the waitress went off to get it then returned to our table to tell us the voucher covers it and we're free to go. At the time we immediately left, it wasn't until the following morning I decided to check the value of food and drink we had consumed, it came to a total of £91.50, I've found this very wrong as the staff took a £8.50 tip without our consent as I feel they didn't deserve a tip due to not asking us once how our meal was or even filling up our wine. Having known at the time the value of money left over we could have stayed for a drink at the bar.
Best Asian food I’ve had, made us cocktails that weren’t on the menu. Would definitely like to dine here again
The only problem with a restaurant with food this good is when no one knows about it and the place is empty (at lunch time, anyway). Service and food didn’t suffer, but not much ambiance. 6 of us enjoyed really great food, a couple of bottles of wine and a few laughs. Would have appreciated a bit of a buzz from other patrons as the piped-in music wasn’t my style. Overall I would definitely recommend!!
Amazing food, only complaint is how hard it was to choose from the menu there were that many great looking options! We'll be coming back for sure. Lovely ambiance too.
Fabulous food in a relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu choices. The quality of the food was outstanding.
Amazing evening, amazing food, amazing service, waitress was amazing! 100% recommend
Food was incredible, however I do not recommend going later in the evening. By 10pm (closes at 10:30) we were the only table and they began to set up for breakfast. It was very loud and unwelcoming as glass, cutlery and plates were swiftly taken off all of the tables. It made for a very rushed meal to which we didn’t bother to finish our shared mains. Shame as food was amazing and bar service at the beginning was very warm and welcoming.
I think we had our best meal ever at Chinos. Food beautifully presented and delicious.
Overpriced, no atmosphere, food portions are tiny. Mains do not come with any accompanying dishes so have to pay extra. Much better places to eat in town than here
Excellent service, of the type you would normally get in a very high end restaurant. The set meal for 2 for expensive (£45 each) but very good value for money: given it's size and quality. I personally wouldn't have it again as there was far too much quantity. But it gave a great idea of the (large) range and (high) quality of the food. We had a splendid English white wine with the meal. Great city centre location. Will definitely go back.
The welcome was we got when we arrived from Frazer was great, The food was absolutely amazing and is a regular 40minute drive for me and my family because of the level of service we get
Beautiful evening! Second time we’ve been and we will come again x
Nice atmosphere, food was good, service was excellent...really enjoyable and will definitely go back again.
Nice food, amazing service! Had a very enjoyable evening.
Excellent and tasty food, attentive but not intrusive service. A few changes to the menu since last visit but still very good. Unusually quiet for late Saturday evening but that was not a problem.
As always excellent service from the waitresses here. Always very friendly and welcoming. We also love the food. The taster menu is great.
Celebrating our son’s birthday.
Reka our waitress was absolutely wonderful!
Made the whole experience a very rememberable evening. She was faultless and nothing was any trouble to her.
Wonderful meal to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. Food was exceptional and great service.
Food was excellent, especially the steak with mirin and garlic. Salmon was particularly good also. Presentation is astounding and made us feel special. We didn't even tell them it was someone's birthday, however, they were paying attention and saw someone getting presents and such, they sent over a FREE desert, specially made, with happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate. We forgot some flowers which they helpfully placed behind the bar for us, and they found my phone number from the table reservation and called us minutes after leaving so I was able to go and pick them up. All around great place.
Great food and service. Recommend the stone bass and hot-rock steak!
Great venue, food was sublime, service ten ten & all round great place & evening
Needs updating. Very loud and a stark inside. I eat out a lot and was underwhelmed overall, especially for a meal that was £150 for 2 of us including wine and a tip.
good food overall but sushi doesnt taste good. Overall the price of food doesnt reflect the quality of the food especially for sushi.
Service is very good, kind people.
I was very excited to try out this place as it had so many good reviews, unfortunately, I'm not sure what happened that night but the service was terrible, half of the things we ordered never actually made it to the table, including something as simple as a glass of wine, which was very disappointing. The food that actually made it was very good though. I think I would recommend the place but not until they sort out their staff issues
Having been here numerous times before and found the food and service fantastic I now feel that the restaurant has declined. The service was extremely slow and we weren't the only people to notice, the table next to us complained as well. Not sure if I will return any time soon which is a shame as the food is normally great.
Best Restaurant in Nottinghamshire, have the set menu you get to try lots of dishes and it’s all delicious, you do not go home hungry.
Staff are all very kind and attentive.
Chino is my absolute favourite restaurant and I have been going there for over ten years. In fact I got engaged there and have had lots of special events there. I recently took my friend as I had raves about it so much but was a bit disappointed. The cocktail menu wasn’t quite as good and it took a while to get served despite it not being busy. Seemed to be some new people on the bar. The food has always been melt in your mouth! Some of it definitely was but lots of favourites have gone like black cod tempura, soft shell crab and beef in a trio. I had the lamb and it was sadly a bit chewy. Never before have I said this. The only reason I wrote the review is because I would not want chino to go downhill!! I love it! The decor inside is still beautiful but maybe at times how worn. Toilets weren’t as well
Kept as normal but I know this is the hotel. Recently I went to iberico and it was definitely amazing melt in the mouth taste. I hope you appreciate the constructive criticism. I think for the price you pay at chino, which I am willing to pay, it has got to be melt in your mouth food. I will defo be back though.
So disappointing we have visited twice before where the food and ambiance was fab but this time nothing really good to say about it
Had an amazing set new year menu .. the food was wonderful and great value for money with a glass of fizz too
There were a couple of little hiccups with the drinks but the restaurant was packed with people so the bar was extremely busy.
Food was incredible, one of the best emails I've ever eaten. I would definitely recommend this place, the staff are great too.
This used to be my favourite restaurant in Nottingham but no longer. Although the food is good quality the menu is not as good as it has been on previous visits. The dishes look great but are not very big and the is only three sides on the menu which is very limited. When we explained this to the waitress her reply was that the chef will not do chips. I found this a poor response as there are as this just shows how much imagination he must have as there are so much more side dishes you can have without resorting to chips.
Great food and service, as ever. Now found that the express lunch is very good value for money.
I'll start by saying that the food was fantastic, full of flavour, there just wasn't enough of it, we had a 3 course meal but it wasn't clear to order sides which we would have done had we known how small the mains were. There was maybe two other couples in there but it was a while before we were shown to our table and they didn't take our coats. There was a different waitress each time but it wasn't busy. I also had a mocktail called a momo that was supposed to be made with lychee but it was made with strawberry, there was no mention of strawberry in the description and I had to check with the waitress that it was my drink. It got very loud at around 8pm with it being connected to the hotel. I just expected a bit more of a personal service and a better experience for the money.
