Chisou Knightsbridge Ratings and Reviews
Always a winner and never disappointed. The service is great, very friendly and they always remember us from the previous visit. The food is a wide range of Japanese styles of cooking but everything is great. The sashimi and Sushi are excellent quality and they cooked dishes and particularly the Chef's recommendations which change all the time are very authentic.
Best Japanese in London. Order the Black Cod and the Wagu Beef with Foie Gras and you will see what I mean. It is possible to have a whole Japanese meal without one grain of rice passing your lips and feel satisfied on all levels, taste, texture, innovation, satiety. Don't bother reading the menu because you will not know what to order just ask the Chef to put the courses together for you, you will not be disappointed!
We had a group of six of us for a very special birthday dinner - we loved the spinach (and crayfish?) salad, the seared beef, delicious tempura and sushi - thank you, we will be back soon! The birthday plate was beautifully presented too and our friend loved it.
Went for a family dinner to celebrate our son's birthday on Saturday night. Were seated upstairs in the bar area where it seemed to be a bit queiter. The service was great - two waitresses always present, very attentive and friendly but also completely relaxed.
Food quality was amazing - we tried a few starters, tempura and assorted sushi. You have to try the fatty tuna and sea urchin - some of the best I had in London and we have been to a number of Japanese places here including the famous upscale ones. Sake list was also good.
The manager came by to say hello and ask whether everything was good - a very nice guesture.
Overall, we were very positively surpirsed and would definitely come again.
Possibly the best value for money Japanese restaurant in Knightsbridge area, you pay 1/3 prices of Zuma and you get much more of the same quality.
As well as the staff is much more caring and less pussy than other restaurants that constanly are trying to sell you everythign they have.
The sake list is pretty impressive and we were well guided by the manager. The black cod is second to none, the wagyu steak brilliant but the Sea Urchin is by far the best kept secret of this restaurant. Will be back soon for more.
I am still thinking of the miso black cod as I'm writing this. Soba isn't their strongest suit (it was a bit clumpy), while the open rolls were okay. Other than that, the food was mostly impeccable, especially the sashimi, grilled dishes and the horenso salad. Presentation was simple, flavours were clean and subtle and fresh. Everything is rather pricey, but the sashimi was almost as fresh as having a fish selected from a live pond and filleted on the spot. Highly recommend the chu/o-toro as well. And finally, we were very pleased with the sake, from the selection to the recommendation and the final product.
