Very welcoming staff. Food was delicious. Despite the current conditions with a reduced menu, the staff went out of their way to accommodate everyone. A nice touch to remember my booking was for an 18th birthday. Can’t wait to return in better circumstances
We went for nanas 79th and it was amazing. Service was fantastic too
We had excellent rump steaks which had been cooked to our tastes - medium rare and medium to well done. Just delicious. We sat near the bar where the cocktails were being made with great expertise and they looked fantastic! Pity the Scottish Government is playing havoc with restaurants as it would be awful to loose a restaurant like this in the Leith area.
Lovely meal yet again at the Chop House in Leith! I will be back!
Had a really enjoyable evening with lovely food. Staff were very helpful and we felt safe with all the social distancing measures in place.
Lovely place, food was amazing, will be back soon.
Usually really enjoy Chop House but was disappointed with the Sunday lunch. The meat although tasted lovely was very small (and very different sizes between me & my partner) but it was the Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and veg that was really disappointing, it was all very dry as if it had been cooked and sat out for hours beforehand. For £29pp, I though it was worth half that price. Service was great and all stuff very friendly.
Nice steak but for the cost not worth it. For the price you pay you would expect the sides as part of course but you have to pay additional for all the sides, so the price you see is literally only for the steak itself.
Lovely Lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Staff excellent. Value for money lets it down. Way too expensive with too many additional charges. Sad face.
Very enjoyable with food service and friendly staff making it a meal to remember.
Best steak in town. Always cooked to perfection. Will be back again.
We had an all round great experience, we always enjoy going to Chop House. It was a very nice meal.
Really nice food in a great atmosphere, friendly staff and owner . Would definitely recommend a visit
Great meal lovely atmosphere amazing staff very attentive
Steaks are very tasty, sides are small and overpriced. Not great value for money.
Sat us at the bar rather than restaurant, steak was over cooked, over priced and not worth the money
Fantastic service, food was great and the restaurant felt safe and secure with all the right covid measures in place. A lovely evening and look forward to going back soon.
Second time at chop house and entire service was fantastic from start to finish. Great place great staff great food and drinks. Defo be back and highly recommend
We ordered sirloin and rump steak to be cooked medium. They came totally overcooked and it was chewed, we mentioned to the waiter and the response was just a "sorry". We won't be coming back after this, quality price relation isn't just worthy.
Poor standard of food for the money they charge, not worth money would not recommend over rated
We had a lovely lunch. Would recommend it to friends. Due to covid as with everywhere, things are slightly out of kilt, obviously this is no fault of theirs. Great starters and a superb Bloody Mary! I’d go back!
Amazing as always. My favourite chophouse in the Edinburgh
Lovely restaurant. It is quite expensive but worth it the food is amazing! The best steak I've had. Service is excellent aswel.
After all the hype about the food & how amazing it is, I was disappointed. The chateaubriand was medium-rare right in the centre, but the rest quickly became well done. The peppercorn sauce was oily as opposed to creamy & the chips might as well have been from the local Tesco - they were dry & flavourless.
I'm not even to to mention the thick batter of the tempura prawn starter or the very average ice-cream served with the dry sticky toffee pudding. All-in-all the food simply doesn't justify the prices & therefore the value is poor.
I ordered the Sirloin and it came with a bone marrow gravy that was excellent. It was a little higher in price that I would usually pay, but it was worth every single penny. My wife ordered the maple roasted chicken and as far as chicken goes, that too was excellent. The staff were great, and it was safe to visit.
This must be 20th visit to the Chop House in last few years, so that says it all, amazing fillet steaks, sides, Stonestreet swizzle cocktail is my fav, great service, all just fantastic
Excellent staff we’re brilliant , food was good ,
Great service, great food. Steak was amazing and the sides, well i would go just for the mac cheese its sooo good
fabulous food and wonderful service. felt very safe. would def. return
Outstanding food and cocktails as always. Service was brilliant.
We were disappointed. Been before and this visit was not up to expectations. Steak and sides poor
2nd visit and both times steak was not cooked as requested.
Great service and amazing food. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Tables had a good distance between them and felt relaxed with Covid measures. Can’t wait to go back.
the decor was cool, service was good, most of the food was fine but the 2 people in our party who had steak were not impressed. For a place that makes its name on its steaks and meat, serving up 2 gristly rump steaks was not great
We had this restaurant on the list to try for ages. Finally gave it a go for our wedding anniversary. So happy we did. The food was delicious and so flavoursome. The service was fantastic, perfect pace of service, never felt rushed or left unattended.
Not cheap, but will definitely go again
Absolutely amazing and would definitely go back , food was delicious and staff were very friendly and make sure you are looked after . I can not fault it at all it was truly amazing.
Really lovely food and service. A very enjoyable experience 😊
Good food - wine so so and service was ok
Nice place and handled the Covid issues well
Been to Chophouse Leith umpteen times and its always been great! Pls put dripping eggs back on the menu!
My Ribeye medium rare was a bit too fatty for me, I will try sirloin next time I’m there. Ordered a bearnaise sauce but got a peppercorn one instead. Changed without a fuss.
Partner had medium ribeye and loved it.
A bottle of house red was nice enough but seemed pricey at £24. We only drank 1/2 of it and asked for the top to go, only to be told it was in the bin, what!? No effort whatsoever to resolve that minor issue (we left the wine instead). Seemed a simple ask, and I’d have thought that was not the first time they’ve been asked that same thing. They could completely remove that from ever being as issue by keeping a few of the screw tops surely?
Very well organised re Covid rules and I applaud them for the way they are able to function as a restaurant in these difficult times.
