Loved the food and the small place vibe, but it was just a little too noisy for conversations. The service tonight was just okay in comparison to previous experiences.
Good food, good service
Great food but it was a bit noisy It was very busy but I am told it's usually less noisy on a week night.
Ciao Cristina allegedly took a 25 pizza order, but didn’t communicate it to the guests waiting patiently for their dinner. After 30 min, I complained because my children were very fussy, and I ran out of snacks. The waitress brought us garlic knots (again 30 min too late) as a concession — it’s idiotic and I will never go there again. The food is lousy as it is.
Great waitstaff and good winelist for a small family restaurant. Food was good and well presented.
Good food and attentive service at a reasonable price. Gluten-free options too. Definitely recommended.
Good food keeps us coming back.
It looks like parking might now be a problem that B of A has locked their lot.
Great location near WB and Universal. Our group of 9 split a pizza as an appetizer before getting various dinners and all were very good. We did not have dessert there. Nice casual spot for solid meal near some of the studios.
They were so busy that when I asked for crushed red pepper the waitperson said he didn’t think he’d be able to get it (their entrees are a little bland, I found some balsamic). The bread didn’t come until after our entrees were cleared.
The tables are super tight. Someone will always be on the main, narrow aisle.
Consistently...Good service, delicious food, charming atmosphere.
Great food, great service, great place!
Busy night at Ciao Cristina.
The service was great, and the food was excellent. I'd say the restaurant punches well above its weight -- it's a great value.
Nice dinner with friends. Small restaurant, but quiet.
Fantastic place to dine for any occasion. We took our best friend here this past Saturday for her birthday dinner. The food is incredible andcthe staff are delightful. Many non pasta items for those of us on Paleo or Keto diets.
Food and service are outstanding! Dining area is a bit small, but they always accommodate!
Awesome food. Everything we tried was wonderful. The server was extremely pleasant as well.
I recommend this restaurant if you want quick and simple food in a neighborly atmosphere. The space is small and tables are crowded together. There was a crowd when we were there, but not too long waiting for a reserved table. This is not a place for a romantic evening out, but the food is homestyle (although too salty for my tastes) and the menu is classical Italian.
It’s a small place and seemed to probably have a clientele from the studios nearby. The tables are right up next to the bar which is the heart of the room. So, lively for sure, but not horrible. The food was great. We were 4 for lunch and we all had different pizzas with side salads. Pizza was excellent. Our “server” seemed to be doing everything including bartending, but she didn’t make us feel rushed. We had a birthday so she brought us a gelato to share afterwards. All in all, a very good place. It’s not in my back yard but I’d go back for sure when in that area.
The food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and everyone is so nice
The food was fantastic- we had a burrata salad and I had the eggplant Parmesan, which was outstanding. My friend had pesto pasta which was ok. Many people seemed to be ordering some sort of cheesy garlic bread. I’ll have to get that next time. The place was packed and for good reason.
Service could have been better. There were only two servers, and despite it being a small place they really needed a third or even fourth server, as well as someone to help the continual flow of takeout orders. We wouldn’t have minded except we had a show to get to at the pantages. I’ll be back when I have more time to spare.
I’ve driven by this place many times and decided to try it. I am not a review writer. I am making an exception in this case. I would not return to this restaurant. The food was just ok. The wine list was very expensive and the ambiance terrible! We would never go back..Much better choices in the area.
We celebrated my birthday with family from overseas. Our waitress was fabulous and the food was delicious!
The service is always very friendly but tends to be a little slow. Food is always excellent and I love the quaint setting. The whole restaurant was filled with smoke from the kitchen when we got there and I had to complain a couple of times before someone finally offered to open the door for a few minutes to air the place out.
They were not open! I was locked into a reservation and I couldn’t use opentable to make a reservation anywhere else. It really messed up our dinner plans!
Server was pleasant, but we waited way too long for each step of our meal.
I have introduced Ciao Cristina to many people - and they all love it. The food is always perfect and authentic. The wine list has been thoughtfully put together. And the people who work there love the restaurant as much as I do, so they treat you like family. One of my favorite places to eat.
We absolutely loved it! The service was wonderful and all of the food was absolutely amazing. Made fresh as it took a bit longer but we were in no rush and really enjoyed the entire experience!
First time at Ciao and really enjoyed it. Tess, our server was very nice. Food was hot and delicious. Chicken parm very moist and my son enjoyed the gluten free penne. Minestrone soup delish! Would definitely come back.
We love this place! The service is the best, dishes are always changing and so good, and the pizza crust is the best I have tasted! And the garlic rolls.
Cathy was our server, she really went above and beyond to make sure everyone got what they wanted - adults and kids alike. The food was delicious - pastas, pizzas, salad, soup, dessert. Atmosphere was very relaxing; perfect after a day of work and sitting in traffic. Definitely recommend this place.
Wonderful service by Kathy. Delicious garlic cheese rolls, chicken piccata, shrimp and scallop scampi, gelato and cappuccino. Great neighborhood restaurant
This is a very casual place but the food is quite delicious...
Food was hot and fresh, needed a place later evening for a group after a movie. They are very accommodating and friendly.
Bit pricier than expected since last trip and service charge added for employees health care to patrons checks. The company should cover that for the prices of wine or the side salads. Great staff. Tasty food.
I live in San Diego Co. and frequent Ciao Christina every time I'm near this restaurant..this last time twice, with two new people who have never been there....both loved the restaurant foodservice, and ambience.
We ordered food to go for a tv show taping. We all enjoyed our different paninis and salads. We each ordered a bottled water to go as well. They sold us 5 bottles (5 dollars a bottle for spring water) but didn’t tell us we needed bottle openers (they knew where we were going). So as we opened our food waiting at the taping we realized no one could drink one drop of our 25 dollars in water.
Horrible food, horrible ambience, and questionable prices: My family is of Italian descent, and we eat and cook Italian food all the time. We were excited to try this place, as it looked like a small neighborhood place that may have good food. Boy were we disappointed. We ordered five different dishes, and they were all terrible. Think a bad 1950s version of what Italian food should be. Like overboiled spaghetti with ketchup bad. The "veal" was more akin to stringy, tough beef. The prices for this food? Wow. We'd gladly pay expensive prices if the meal was good. This one wasn't. Then there was the ambience: we thought, "this is across from the studios, it will be filled with execs." Nope. The place was filled with drunken, loud, very low-end folks sitting at the bar watching sports. Very odd crowd (think country-music festival) for an expensive Italian restaurant. Such a disappointment overall.
We had an evening event nearby and chose Ciao Cristina because of its proximity and the positive Yelp reviews. The food was quite good and the service attentive. Our reservation was honored on time — no delay.
I have two issues: The noise level was so loud that it made conversation difficult. This appears to be an inherent design problem and not readily solvable. The other problem also appears to have no resolution — there are about two or three parking spaces behind the restaurant with the alternative being driving the neighborhood streets and hoping to find a parking spot. I was able to do so — two blocks away.
I would be inclined to return for the food (and “suffer” with the noise) were it not such a problem with parking. My sense is that this is a combination neighborhood place that locals walk to and/or frequented by adjacent Warner Studio employees who can park in the adjacent structure (off limits to the general public).
