I have been to City Social a few times. This time was with my wife for her birthday. The service was impeccable, the staff actually talk to you, are friendly and enjoy a laugh with you. The food is stunning. Textures, flavours, presentation were all spot on. They also presented my wife with a little birthday pudding and took a Polaroid photo of us. With the back drop of London lit up are night, it couldn't have been better. Thanks for a lovely experience.

This was our first visit to the restaurant and from the moment we were greeted the experience was unbelievable and unforgettable. The service was fantastic with a great mixture of friendliness as well as knowledgeable about the menu. Wine selection was incredible but the main pinnacle of the evening was the wonderful food which was creative but with superb flavour combinations . We will be back if at all possible.

Went for my husbands birthday. Said this on booking but not acknowledged. First time in this restaurant.
We’re not sure who to tell we had arrived. Stood around and were ignored by a couple of staff before being helped.
After that delicious food and nice service. Unfortunately we were next to a noisy team outing and it was hard to chat

Yes nice views of London skyline but I will never go there again. The noise level was simply unbearable, could barely have a conversation with the person sat next to me (round table), impossible with those sat in front of me. This alone made the whole evening very unpleasant.

Staff were attentive, food had lots of flavour. The only thing I wished was that we had a window view as opposed to a table by the kitchen. I know everyone can’t have a window view!

The waiting staff were amazing. It was the head waiters first head waiter night - he was brilliant as were everyone else. It was our anniversary and you guys made it a night to remember

Second visit - great service in a great location - and our table for two in a booth was amazing. Only let down was my wife’s choice of main course was not particularly nice (duck), but the restaurant handled well, replacing and refunding the course. Will probably return but might try the Social Eating House next.

Without doubt the best place I have eaten in London in a very long time. The food was excellent, service excellent and table and view also excellent. I could not fault this restaurant in anyway. Given its only a short walk from my office I will be coming back very soon. For a top end restaurant the price was also reasonable. For 2 main lunches and 3 glasses of red we paid around £120.

Lovely date night, food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly & tried to maintain a good service while very busy. Only issues were trouble finding the booking so not a smooth entrance & surrounding tables were pretty crass so dampened the ambiance a bit. Would recommend for a special occasion

Good food and service, very good cheeseboard and dessert, excellent view. Noise level was higher than we like - some contribution from the sound system but it was mostly other diners. Lighting level and general ambience very good.

Good food, excellent service. Tables were a little closer together than we had been led to believe from other reviewers. If you’re lucky enough to bag a window table then you probably won’t have this issue - but we were in the middle of a trio of tables against a back wall and found the conversations going on either side of us to be very intrusive. On a weeknight it was very suit-y - we felt like the only diners who weren’t putting the bill on an expense account. Overall if you’re in search of sky-high dining for a special occasion, I’d opt for Sushi Samba, Helix or Duck & Waffle in preference to City Social. And you’ll come away with a lot more change from £300 for two than we did here!

I have eaten at City Social on a number of occasions, but the experience this time was somewhat disappointing to say the least especially as it was mid-week and not that busy. One of my guests ended up with a mail course which they hadn't ordered; another guest didn't receive their cheese at the same as the rest of the puddings (the waitress had to be reminded of the order); and the final round of drinks took two requests and simply far to long to arrive.

Food was excellent; wine list comprehensive if a little overpriced. Service was a bit chaotic and not what I would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. They forgot us for a bit and took too long to bring the cheese board. I don't know if this was normal or if there were a lot of new members of staff on our service.

Excellent food. Wonderful setting but the service was terrible. Kept having to ask for more wine, water. Broccoli never appeared. Quality of the food was unbeatable though just shame about the service.

From the minute that we arrived to the time that we left were taken care of. The food was so incrediably delicious. The vegan/Vegetarian option was simply delightful. The place has a nice comfortable ambience where one can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. I would hav preferred a table booth by the windo but where we were sat was also good. I will definitely go back.

The food was amazing, unfortunately there were a few issues with the service that took the shine off our evening. We’d booked - via their website and we’re directed to open table. Here we selected the time slot attached to which was an offer -early set menu dinner- which we selected. However despite selecting this we were only handed the Al a carte menu when we arrived - we asked for the set menu offer we had booked and eventually (with some reluctance from the waiter) we were brought this. Ordered from this menu and the food was beautiful in every way we were impressed. However my husband then ordered a glass of wine - the sommelier came over to advise, however he basically just picked the most expensive wines off the by the glass list and said theses are good- you’d hope so for £30 a glass. He didn’t tell us anything about the wine or really try to pair it with what we were eating- he was just out to push you to buy the most expensive wine on the list and didn’t really seem to know anything about the wine- not really what you’d expect from a restaurant of this calibre.
Anyway finished our lovely meal and asked for the bill - which when it arrived was wrong - this was very quickly rectified with no quibbles, just a shame that it happened. We were also told that we’d “just caught the end of their summer special menu” as if they were doing us a favour by offering us the advertised menu we’d booked. If you don’t want people to have the menu, don’t offer it! The set menu offer was part of the reason we booked that particular restaurant and although cheaper certainly wasn’t cheap (our bill was over £120) - especially after they added on extra drinks and 12.5% service charge.
My final points are regarding the toilets - beautifully done out and clean, however 2 pet peeves- the stalls in the ladies toilets were very narrow meaning you had to touch the sanitary bin when using the toilet and also the flush buttons were behind the toilet seat.

We went there for my birthday dinner. Service was great and we had the view of the Gherkin and saw the sunset. We had the Côte de bœuf, red wine braised cheeks, bone marrow, 90
mixed vegetables, mushrooms (for 2) which was a large portion for two. Steak was cooked perfect for medium-rare but the salad came with vinegar dressing already on top which was a bit too salty. Apple tarte tatin, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce (for two) was a generous portion. Noise level was mild around 6pm but got quite loud towards 9pm. Overall, I would definitely come back here again and this is a great place for special occasions, celebrations and anniversaries!

While the food and views were indeed brilliant, the service was horrific. We booked a table for 8pm and arrived promptly at 8pm. We had to wait in the bar til our table was ready at 9pm. All the wait staff avoided us until we spoke up at 9:30pm to ask whether we could order food, as we were starving. No one had come to bring us bread or anything. When a waiter finally came by at 9:40, it was to ask which wine wanted. For a mid week meal, an expensive one at that, being forced to wait until 10pm to eat anything at all was a huge let down, esp since we had booked this restaurant for a special occasion.

Absolutely outstanding views! We had the corner table overseeing the Gherking building and it was fantastic to watch the sunset. Food was delicious too and the staff were very warm and attentive!

This was my second time having lunch here and while the food was delicious the service was lacklustre in many ways. Firstly we explicitly asked for tap water only to be brought bottled still water which we were charged for and had been poured glasses of before we realised what had happened. He then proceeded to top up our glasses about three times in the space of five minutes (basically after every sip). This was rather annoying and intrusive. There needs to be a better balance between an attentive and relaxed service style. Secondly when we were brought the bread the waiter mumbled something about some bread and butter, neither speaking audibly nor explaining that one was an onion butter which I had to explain to my friend as he hadn’t been there before. Thirdly we each ordered a glass of red wine to go with our mains and were not asked whether we wanted a small or large glass. The glass we received didn’t seem any more than the bare minimum is acceptable to pour in a glass but were charged the full price for a large glass (an extra £5 per glass). We both had the pork which was delicious but when my friend had almost finished the potatoes underneath he found a hair which he then left on the plate. Although it was too late for the dish to be replaced as he had eaten the vast majority of it it was surprising that this wasn’t noticed or addressed in any way. Finally, our waiter (John) according to the bill, disappeared after desserts, not asking whether we wanted coffee or tea meaning we had to flag someone else down to get the bill after which he then reappeared only for there to be a mix up with the cards: my friend and I split the bill and he gave me my friend’s card after he had paid his half and then gave the card machine back to him with my card inside. Although nothing here is a major problem in and of itself it all added up to tarnish my experience which had been so positive the first time a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. I hope these comments are useful.

We went to City Social for a friendly business lunch. The setting is still superb, we were placed on a great table just facing the Gerkin building.

Staff is quite attentive, there is a friendly sommelier and it is a very pleasant place.

Food wise, we went for the lunch menu, which included a glass of Moet (Imperial Cuvee). Pretty nice City food, quite light. A nice place for a business lunch or even a date!

It has been third time at Sity Social and frankly each time it gets a bit worse than before. Food at least some of it was very good. Service was not so good, slow. no weiter to ask for something, forget the order etc which in this level restaurant is part of experience and it makes a poor impression
