We had a lovely evening and the food and service was excellent. We I appreciated being in the quieter room at the back as we do find the restaurant quite noisy which is probably because of the acoustics.
classy and classic. delicious food upscale vibe
Perfect from start to finish : delicious food , presentation , service, atmosphere, attention of the team to details
Amazing as always.
I had a delightful lunch with friends. The food, as always, was excellent and the service equally good. Very relaxing and wonderful experience!
Tasteful, understated and delicious food. Quality ingredients, generous portions, understated luxury, what’s not to like!!
Clarke’s is consistently outstanding — Sally Clarke knocks it out of the park every time, whether it is a deceptively simple yet sublime mushroom salad or an exquisitely cooked to perfection fish to her unforgettable chocolate truffles.
As usual Clarkes had an excellent seasonal menu choice. Food was delicious as always. Highly recommend the restaurant. Nice and spacious so conversations are private. Very good service although wine pourer a little scarce. Would definitely return.
One of my favourite local restaurants. We return over and over again. This week's breakfast was as delicious as ever.
We made a last minute booking at 9:30pm, having been to an event next door which left part of our group hungry.
The food was very good as usual. But it was late and half the table were not hungry and ordered only starters. The waiter told me this was unacceptable as he was seating us, despite the other half ordering full meals.
I would have left, but I was with visitors I did not know well, who were new to London, and I did not want to ruin the evening for those who were hungry. Odd behaviour at the end of a week night, with several tables in the restaurant empty.
What a wonderful find. This restaurant is a true representative of Farm to Table concept - delicious food with exceptionally tasty and fresh ingredients. Service was really nice and classy cozy setting. We will definitely come back again.
Every thing was perfect. Waiter explained each course we asked about and was excited about the dishes he made it hard to make a choice. The food was excellent and cooked just right. The wine list was full of treasures and the mark up was acceptable. A very enjoyable evening everything worked!!
Too exspensive. Food was OK. However, not value for money
Always fabulous food and great service - the food reflects the best of seasonal produce served up in a formal but easy going atmosphere
This is a wonderful restaurant. I come whenever I am in London. It has great ambience, great food and a terrific staff.
Sally Clarke was greating and actually clearing tables. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients really stand out.
Our experience got off to a bad start when we (2 women friends) were seated at a table next to all the traffic between two rooms and a hallway. We had a reservation and there were at least 4 empty tables at the time. We should have asked for the adjacent table out of the fray that was vacant at the time. Not surprisingly a male/female couple was seated there a few minutes later. Enjoyed everything we ordered. A salad with roasted figs and shaved parmesan was delicious as was the roasted halibut. The breads were all very good. Would return to experience more of their offerings.
Excellent restaurant! Lovely to visit again. Always stellar - solid fare and service.
Always brilliant with Sally keeping a close eye on evertything
Delicious food, great atmosphere and exceptional service. We loved our evening at Clarke’s and would highly recommend it.
Excellent menu, food and service - as always
This restaurant was an exciting discovery for someone from the SF Bay area. We loved the creative matching of foods and flavors which mirrors what you would find at the Greens or Chez Panisse. In fact, the owner and lead chef has clearly been influenced by Alice Waters and has moved forward with new interpretations of English cuisine. You must not miss an opportunity to eat at this fabulous restaurant.
Consistently good if not exceptional food, very pleasant and effective service. Not cheap, now about to be expected for better London restaurants
Good food. They did keep pushing us when our friends were late saying lunch closed at 2pm which doesnt happen anywhere not even Paris. But the food was excellent. They need to catch up service to the quality of food.
When we visit London, Clarkes is our first reservation. Warm, friendly,. delicious farm-to-table seasonal foods. Fresh wild caught fish and delightful desserts.
Peaceful atmosphere. Not too noisy nor piped music which was good. Nice view of small attractive garden floodlit. Food good rather than outstanding but we would definitely return.
I ate at this restaurant in 2011 and it's only gotten better. Service is an art at this location with the perfect combination of warmth and professionalism. The ambiance is lovely. The neighborhood is charming. And the food is artfully prepared, delicious and soulful.
We tried Clarke's for lunch during our vacation. What an amazing spot! Food was so fresh and service was outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Fabulous, as always
Accommodating an ever increasing number of guests who shared my enthusiasm and appreciation for the well chosen menus. Champagnes moderately priced compared to others but like most restaurants still at least £20 more than they should be
Fantastic food, great portions and great champagne & wine list.
Great except they did not have the Open Table booking, reduced my trust in Open Table
Clarkes's provides a beautiful and serene dining space and is an ideal meeting spot for a tete a tete or a friends' get-together, Food is first class albeit that is reflected in the prices.
Clarke's has a really nice ambience - smart without being stuffy. Our waitress was friendly but disappeared from the room near the end of our meal and I found her chatting to a colleague. Three soufflé eaters were very happy but the crab ravioli, apparently, was ok but not stunning. I had the veal chop - it was very tasty with a nice jus. The three others had fish and they enjoyed it. My wife had the pannacotta which was very small. The other desserts were ok but I had none. Nice truffles with coffee but at a meal for £75 a head charging for them was a bit over the top. This was a second visit. Imagine we'll go back but hopefully it'll be as good as our first visit which merited more stars.
Went to Clarke’s for my wife birthday and had a delightful table in the back of the restaurant as I had asked for a quiter table. My daughter is slightly hard of hearing so it was great to enjoy dinner in a quiter space.
Food as always was exemplary and the service was flawless and not over bearing. Portions and presentation were excellent.
On service it was little things where they had clearly heard me offering my son a glass of wine and before having to ask a glass arrived. Very pleasant staff who know how to serve tables with out distracting the dinners.
The seasonal menu is always a delight and nice to see some of my favourites such as the soufflé on the menu.
Couldn’t fault. Will return very soon. Stuart.
Fish undercooked, other food good - we were sat in Siberia - poor lighting whereas the more convivial side of the restaurant never filled up so they could have placed us there. Wonder if open table bookings get poor choice of where they sit in the restaurant?
I have nothing to fault - the welcome, the service, the food, the wine we chose - and the company of our friends were all tip top.
Excellent service, ambience and delicious food. The staff are exceptional and the food was great. My son wanted the main course from the set menu despite having a la carte otherwise. The waiter was absolutely fine with that. We all enjoyed our meals. The ambience was great as despite getting there for an 8pm booking the restaurant was virtually full making it a good atmosphere. They did not seem to be looking to turn your table. Would definitely return.
Went here for a celebration and had a lovely evening. It is a special place. I'd love to go back. But you do pay for the quality of the food, service and experience and why shouldn't you ! But not somewhere I could afford to dine at regularly - sadly! So do go for a special occasion.
The staff was very friendly and nice. They took good care of us, attentive but not overly so. The food was delicious! We enjoyed our meal greatly! Thank you for a lovely meal in a lovely setting!
All Good... esp service. I only found the back room too noisy...as in bad acoustics. needs more sound absorbing elements
