We went for the Dine Out Boston menu, but we've never had a bad meal here. Consistently creative and delicious, and the Dine Out menu in particular is a great deal!
Great restaurant! Love the ambiance. Food is always fantastic.
Been going there for years. Price has gone up but food quality has declined. Used to be outstanding and better value. Hopefully it was a kitchen off mid week night, but we will really think twice about returning, given other choices around that neighborhood. Shame, venue setting is great.
We go back here every time we go to Boston and they never disappoint! The food is excellent, service is excellent and the atmosphere is amazing. We are already planning our next visit
The food was great and the service was also very good. I'd definitely visit again.
This is clearly one of my favorite restaurants! We were 3 people. We shared the cheese platter as an appetizer, it was delicious and so generous.
One of us took the cod, which is an awesome meal. Two of us shared the pasta bolognese, which the kitchen split onto two plates (!!) - and it was the best pasta bolognese I have ever had.
The cocktails were amazing.
The crème brûlée was the perfect dessert to polish off a great dinner experience!!!
Food was excellent. The noise was a little loud but still could hear each other.
Food was good, service was subpar save one woman who was waiting on us as a bartender who gave great advice/recommendations on the menu. There may have been a shift change in the middle of our dinner (maybe around 9? Which would be weird), so we had one waiter who we saw three times over an hour and a half and then he disappeared before our entrees came (which we didn’t receive until an hour and half after we got there, with our apps taking an hour). Noise increased around 9:30, when the bar outside got louder and the dj started playing.
Fabulous food. The squid ink pasta was a little thick and would have preferred fettuccine size.
Really flavorful food, excellent if not exceptionally generous drinks, nice wine choices.
But: loud and really expensive
A unique experience to be sure — service was terrific, with a perfectly balanced menu.
Clink. was pretty amazing. The ambiance is crazy (gutted 1851 jail). The only reason i didn't give this review 5 stars across the board is a couple factors.
1. My steak was overcooked. The restaurant wasn't nearly busy enough to rush a steak order.
2. Placed at a table near the kitchen despite there being many open seating.
3. Service was slightly slow. We understood that it was valentines weekend but the restaurant was only half packed.
4. At the $85 pre fix menu, it wasn't worth the value. The bisque wasn't seasoned well, filet was overcooked, and the chocolate dessert was overpowering.
Would definitely recommend going on a casual weekend dinner dtae and opt out of any pre fixes.
The restaurant was clearly overbooked and seated us more than an hour after our 8:15 reservation. Food did not come out for the whole party at the same time and many dishes were cold when they did arrive. Would not have expected this poor level of service for such an established restaurant
It was excellent! Great service, great food. We had a 530pm reservation and we were given an excellent table.
The service was terrible... I had to ask the server if she was going to serve us. Before someone approached our table, someone had walked out and mumbled that your food was going to take forever to come out. That wasn't the case, but the food wasn't good.
I would not recommend this place or the hotel. It didn't have a luxury vibe.
We had a reservation but the tables were all taken in the restaurant so we sat and ate in the lobby, which was fairly comfortable. It was also probably more private even though we were in the open. The bartender was the only restaurant employee in the lobby and she was swamped and could hardly look over the make-your-own-Bloody Mary setup to ensure everything was available n(Bloody Mary mix was never refilled), let alone take care of restaurant patrons. We had to find our own napkins and menus. Our eventual server had never waited on patrons before (she worked setting up and clearing tables), however, she did an excellent job.
Outstanding seafood pasta and very fast service!
We went there for brunch with my mom and my two-year old. There were definitely prepared for kids and the food was outstanding. Service was really good too. We’ll be back!
Our second time at Clink and we were not disappointed. The food is outstanding - so flavorful with an fabulous presentation. The service this time was off but it was not our waiter's fault - there was a party of 8 women next to us that seemed to be so demanding - and - they insisted on 8 different checks! Who does that? They were loud and disruptive and put a damper on the evening for us. Certainly not the restaurant's fault. We had requested an intimate table but it was not to be with that group next to us - just the luck of the draw. Clink is outstanding and you should go!
There for lunch, I ordered the salmon burger. It was dry and way too salty. One friend ordered the soup and salad for $23, and the clam chowder was good but with only one clam and in the smallest of bowls.
Excellent brunch. Great service.
Staff was amazing and they brought higher expectations to make our evening amazing
Hits and misses- both burgers were missing bacon despite bacon being described as an option on the menu. Corn beef hash was very minimal on the actual corn beef and surprisingly was not served with any toast, bit uncommon. Pastry basket was awesome, omelette great, good coffee, great Bloody Mary Bar. All in all, good good experience.
Had a recent business associate in town for the night. Booked dinner at Clink and over night at the Liberty. What a great place! Food was very good. Love the restoration/design. Service was great. Were even able to find a relatively quite high top on the second floor after dinner for another drink and to talk business while enjoying watching the action around us. Highly recommend Clink and the entire establishment for dinner date or business, drinks, night club down stairs at Alibi and over night at the hotel! Can't wait to go back for business or pleasure.
What a fantastic experience! I loved this restaurant for the history and ambiance. The service was great—we went for my parents’ birthday and they gave us champagne on the house and a lovely dessert. The food was a bit pricey but worth it for such a cool experience. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.
Staff and food were great. Ambiance was nice and novelty of old prison doors added to the experience.
Great Place for lunch and especially if you get the quick lunch which include two great desert cookies.
We have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
Seating with view of Cambridge, service, ambience, good food... Clink had it all.
Everything was excellent including the selections available for brunch. Our only criticism is the size of the cappuccino cups. They are way too small! They should be about twice the size they are now.
A great evening. They went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday special.
Food and service were very good but if you closed your eyes you would feel like you were in a diner. There was no ambient music but a screaming baby and kids on their cell phones along with clinking cutlery and chefs amicably shouting to each other. Clink used to be a fun place for a date, very ‘hip’ and trendy, but now it feels like a family restaurant even on a Friday night.
Although I booked my email through open table I also emailed Adam at the hotel for a special table request as we were celebrating. He replied and was most helpful in his response which filled us with confidence that we had chose the right place for our holiday breakfast. The hotel is a converted jail so that in itself is amazing. The building is beautiful and the decor for the Christmas period was beautiful. The hostess was amazing, she welcomed us warmly and was so smiley. The perfect person to welcome you to the restaurant, she was happy to take a photo for us as we left also, she was so helpful and pleasant. She showed us to our lovely window table and we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast on Christmas Day. The atmosphere was really nice and festive, every staff member we encountered was really friendly. Our waiter was brilliant also, he showed fantastic hospitality and genuine warmth. I didn't get any names unfortunately but whatever this restaurant is doing with both the food and the service is amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend Clink to colleagues, family and friends as we had such a lovely Christmas day breakfast made even more special by such brilliant staff and delicious food.
Fun and hip place for a date
Went for Christmas Eve dinner with the family. I had given advanced notice of my wheat, gluten and pepper allergy, and they let me know they were aware and prepared. I never had to question a single item put in front of me. It was all amazing and perfectly prepared. The waitstaff were so wonderfully attentive. It was a fabulous experience.
Parking outrageously expensive. Got to be a better way.
Great food. Slow service with filling water and waited 20 min for drinks
Excellent experience! Thanks so much! Look forward to coming again
Horrible service. Ridiculously overpriced.
